Upcoming Tattoos
cfmartin67 and 2 others reacted to jnin for a topic
Gonna book an appointment with Chris Trevino next week. Not sure of the exact date as I have to book it still but we briefly spoke on the phone about it and I couldn't be more excited. This will be my first time traveling out of state for a tattoo and I think I'll make a nice trip out of it. Just gotta wait until pay day and I'm gonna put the deposit down.3 points -

Full Back Piece Experience Thread
scottyg reacted to thewitchhunter for a topic
Wow, 7h mainly outlining on the back and it was a breeze? Hell, everything especially on the lower back was so f...in' intense. Tailbone, kidneys, pure agony! And for me butt cheek was kinda relaxing after getting lower back worked on. There's no more to say about individual pain perception... And the itching... Well, the pain goes away as soon as the needle stops working. The itching stays for days!1 point -
@thewitchhunter haha thanks! Craig Gardyan from Grim Tattoo in Philadelphia is doing this piece. And yes, Ive been laser removing two other tattoos for a few years and doing a full back piece to cover them up. The session wasnt as rough as the itching is now!! Getting the tattoo was actually a breeze. I suspect the next session of shading will probably be a rough one.1 point

I never said it makes anyone evil to buy instead of adopt. Most of the people I know who have bought just don't know about the problem. As far as knowing what you get from a breeder, where do you think the 'problem' pure bred dogs sitting in shelters come from? I encourage everyone to do their own research. We've been sold a bill of goods by the AKC about the 'superiority' of pure bred dogs. Research shows that purebreds have more behavioral and health issues than mutts.1 point -

Broken Crow Collective just opened up recently and I really like what I've seen from them so far - I'll be visiting my sister up there this weekend and we're both getting pieces done.1 point -

Thanks for the reply. I purchased the biggest size I could find. It should ore than cover the work I'm having the next week. Should be at least an each either side too. Im quite concerned about how easy it appears to start peeling off. I don't want to have to change it after a night. I aim to apply it the night of. I'm guessing I'll be done by mid afternoon from a morning start, so will have 8 hours or so before I apply the 'derm.1 point

I hate to preach, but please don't buy animals, adopt. If you don't know why, look up puppy mills and see the horrific conditions most of these dogs you buy are bred in. 2.7 million animals are killed in shelters every year, many of them pure breds. There just is no excuse for buying an animal. I hate to be a downer, but I do a lot of rescue work and every time someone buys an animal, they make some greeder wealthy and one more shelter animal is killed. Petfinder.com is a great place to start. OK, getting off of soap box.1 point -
I've got some tattoos which are 7 years old where very occasionally the outlines will raise a little. I think it may be heat related as it always happens when it's very hot and humid. If you do some research, you will find that actual allergic reactions to any ink are very rare. Someone takes a little longer to heal than normal and all of a sudden it's 'an allergic reaction.' Many people who are new to the tattoo world don't understand what the normal healing process is. Too much watching TV shows where it looks like you walk out with a fully-healed, pain free tattoo. Not that it doesn't happen, but odds are it's nothing.1 point

I hate summer :(
Devious6 reacted to Colored Guy for a topic
I love summer. I can always find a way to cool off. Now it seems to be fading away... sad. It always goes too fast and winter drags on too long.1 point -
