  1. Some artists use the deposit to cover the drawing time. Mine has even shared parts of the design with me over email, but I've used her a lot. Sent from my Le Pan TC802A using Tapatalk

    Hello everyone

Welcome to the forum! Take some time to spend looking at the picture and video archives - lots of tremendous pieces of art there. Do you have any tattoos or are you just starting the exploration?

First, if it's a small quote, likely no one notices it but you. Cover it up until you get comfortable. How long did you think about it before you got it? Did you do your homework in choosing an artist? Were you sober when you got it? Does it look good? Can you post a pic?

  4. Make sure to follow your aftercare! Keep it clean, clean, clean and lightly moisturized. Tattoos take a month or two to settle in. If by this time next week you are still sore, give your artist a call.

    hey!

ive decided on going with Jay Quarles from Black 13 in Nashville. he's the most accessible for me, beings ive got friends in that area, so travel arrangements are a little easier. appreciate all the input. He's booked about 10 months out, but told me he gets about 4-7 cancellations a month, so its plausible to get in much sooner. i think hes pretty solid and concise in his application, detailed but not over the top thatll disappear later down the road.

  7. Don't worry, and definitely don't make any snap decisions now. I strongly recommend getting two or three more tattoos and if you still don't like it at that point get it covered up with a dagger being plunged into a panther's head.

Erica Flannes does guest spots in Nola and Slidell a couple of times/year, and does great lady heads and stylized portraits: https://www.instagram.com/ericaflannes/?hl=en

  9. I started getting my tattoos as part of a conscious choice to acknowledge my life changing drastically from an employed member of the work force who occasionally had health issues to a mostly unemployed life where I need to find myself and on days when I'm not sick in bed, re engage with my hobbies to keep me interested in life. In the last six months I've worked on knitting, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, beaded bracelets, rock painting, wood painting, and as of yesterday, rock carving and wood carving. It's fascinating how all those art forms overlap, especially with placement and design. I studied a lot of Instagram tattoo accounts including the design and execution. I always felt like I wasn't as good at drawing as I should be to really be an "artist", but for whatever reason watching the tattoo artists sketch and plan their art has given me more confidence and hopefully skill :) Plus I love my tattoos and being able to see them on my arm is really inspirational to me, helping me feel better about myself, having something about myself that I think is beautiful and won't be gone in the morning like a good hair day! hey!

Hiya, @flipcrab85 . There's no one in SE Louisiana that I'm aware of who specializes in black and grey realism, but there are a couple in this shop who are superior and might fit into what you want to end up with. https://eyecandytattoo.wordpress.com/category/uncategorized/ Alternatively, Nate Beavers http://www.natebeavers.com/ in Houston or Sean Hermann http://seanherman.com/work-gallery/ just south of Mobile might be your best bets . . . hey!

Welcome. It sounds like you're on the right track - find an artist you like ad trust, and take his or her advice on where to start. Where are you located? Willing to travel?

  13. Started this little guy the other day! Popped into one of my favorite shops for their walk-in Saturdays and my artist Jordyn came up with this to match my left shin which is a fox sitting in a rose. Go back for color on June 15th! The angle is kinda wonky in the second picture, it's hard to get a straight on shot of your own shins when you don't have a mirror! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Had the latest additions to this last Saturday - (king magpye, atom, additional magpye (not shown) further up the arm and a little treble clef gap filler....)... Still healing right now - this will eventually be a sleeve.... eventually.... :-)
