  1. I want Marius to do something for me. He's not traveling right now but has invited me over to Norway. :) Ha! Like he needs to enable my tattoo and travel habits.

  2. Jimmy Duvall is pretty damned good at cover-up, but it's probably not what you're looking for. If I were you, I'd just pay Marius and have him do whatever he wants to do on my back and cover that little thing along the way. You simply cannot go wrong with anything from him. I've seen 5 year old hands that look like they were done yesterday.

  3. Friend....it's way too early to start thinking about adding or covering up. Enjoy it as is for at least three months. Breathe. :) It's cool! Maybe think about another, different tattoo in a different place OR not getting another tattoo until you've processed how you feel. Give yourself some time. Do not, I repeat, do NOT make any decisions for at least a few months. Please. :)

    hey!

ive decided on going with Jay Quarles from Black 13 in Nashville. he's the most accessible for me, beings ive got friends in that area, so travel arrangements are a little easier. appreciate all the input. He's booked about 10 months out, but told me he gets about 4-7 cancellations a month, so its plausible to get in much sooner. i think hes pretty solid and concise in his application, detailed but not over the top thatll disappear later down the road.

  5. I'd LOVE to see your country! It just has to be in the summer, not the winter. Reach out to him, see what he says. Are you close to his shop to do a consult? A good consult would go a long way to answering your questions. He's super good.

  6. I took a closer look at Marius' Instagram, and yeah.. he may absolutely be a good pick! I'm wondering if there's a way to keep the skull and add something that would suit it nicely. But like realistically, if I want a backpiece in black and grey I'd pretty much have to lazer the rays, right? If not it would have to be pretty damn dark in those areas.. @Gingerninja Cool! If you have the time, you should pay the northern parts of Norway a visit - it's way nicer up here ;) I've never really liked our capital. Northern Norway has breathtaking nature, if you're interested in such that is.

  7. I wholly agree with @Gingerninja! You're not even healed yet. Let it settle in and then decide whether you want to add to or cover this. You had a reason for getting this tattoo, right? What was it? Does this tattoo represent what you had in mind? If yes, then enjoy it. If not, then engaging the same artist to add to it or cover it might not be the best plan. Take some time to let it heal. By all means search around for what you might want to do or what you might want for your next tattoo. And, check out other artists to get ideas. People here will gladly help point you in different directions. But, breath. Relax. Enjoy....and wait.

  8. Hey there and welcome! My two cents: I suggest that you find an artist to talk to about what you want. Depending upon what they say, you may or may not have to do the laser option. No matter what you do, you are going to have to go BIG. If you are a traditional guy, think Pharaoh's Horses, Rock of Ages....something big. If you are inclined to Japanese-style, you could do tiger-dragon Battle Royal or the like. Who knows, maybe one or two laser sessions would be all that you need to lighten it up? It does hurt. And's it's expensive but for the size of piece that you need for a cover-up, you may have to do it.

    Question about tattoo???

It's your arm. It won't be straight when you move your arm. It looks fine.

    Full Back Piece Thread

started this end of '13 with rich hardy in krakow, poland. then i travelled to london, paris and london again to finish it few weeks ago. so relieved that i finally don't have to get through that pain again. although the shading during the last 3 sessions was so easy in comparison to the lines. anyways i can only repeat that rich is the nicest guy. everyone should get tattooed by him if he is around. merry christmas everyone!
