I'd still give the artist something in both situations. How much is up to you. This is an odd one with the barter and the touchup but I'd still do something either in cash or a little gift. Some token of appreciation I think would be a nice gesture.
Agreed! Aaron Coleman is an awesome tattooer. Seems to be a nice guy too. I ordered a shirt months back and he sent a whole bunch of goodies and a personal note. Was a nice touch.
damn, that's a badass flash sheet, all three of those things under of the ROA are badass, the dragon/fish/hog
the torch too, really a great sheet. I would def get something from Aaron Coleman.
They're too close together right now to read as 4 separate tattoos, they just look like one big messy tattoo. I would say either eliminate some aspects of the design so it's more simplified or spread the tattoos out more, maybe with some filler designs, so they look like they're meant to be separate.
When in doubt: tip. Even if it isn't the full 15-20%, an extra $20 or a gift (if you know the artist well enough) will always be appreciated. It shows extra gratitude and helps create a good relationship. Can't ever hurt to offer it at least.
I'd do some overlapping, or leave enough room between them for some traditional filler - but that's just me. Maybe utilize more roses all around as filler.
Getting something off Richard Stell's new 2017 pork chop sheet in a couple of weeks. It was co-created with Aaron Coleman, Tim Martin, and Dano Sancho. I'll get a piece from it tattooed by Josh Henderson. He works in Tim Martin's shop, so it all connects. :-) Wanna guess which one I'm going for? Hahaha.
