Latest tattoo lowdown.....

Got my somewhat spontaneous dragon tattoo today. Wes Garvick did it and I'm so stoked on it. His shop is literally the only one in town I'd ever go to, if you ever find yourself in York, PA. And what's that you guys always say about everyone needs a panther and dragon? Now I have both and they're friends.10 points -
Healed lady I got from Ivan Antonyshev while he was guesting in Leeds last month. Spotted this design on the Mainstay T-shirt and fell in love with it. So stoked to get a piece from him at last.5 points

Sarah did a first pass at correcting the faked line on my forearm that another artist did and I hated. After 3 laser sessions (one a two-pass session), it was ready. She did the lining and some grey shading. Looks thousands of times better. She will add color in early March. This is going to settle nicely, I think - and I'm already real happy with it. Here's a little party shark I got from Scott Sylvia recently. I meant to post healed pictures but it's a difficult area of my arm to photograph. Thanks for looking! starting the left sleeve next.3 points

Probably my favorite right now is Steve Byrne, I'm always amazed at his creativity, crazy colors, and super bold lines. I have nothing by him...yet. And I guess I can post this here too. I got this Cap Coleman dragon design last night by Wes Garvick in York, PA. I've wanted a dragon for a while now and Cap does some of my favorites.2 points -

Got the suggestion to 'work up' to the chest piece I'm getting (gnarling scarring I want to get covered) so I went back to Brittany at Hot Copper for something else I saw and fell in love with. Think I'm going to have to keep adding to the leg, carry on with the outdoors theme I seem to have got going on It's completely round irl, the angle I'm standing at just makes it look a bit thin at the bottom end in the pic.2 points -
I'm not great with photos but here are a few progress pictures from this last month with Lehi.2 points

Hey guys, I've posted many times about my tattoo dilemma. Yesterday i finally got the partial cover up I've been wanting. :-) As per my plan it was less a cover up and more of framing the bottom of my original tattoo because I wasn't happy with the bottom half of the design. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out to be honest. I like the dark red shade of the flowers. I like it so much in fact that I'm wondering if I should have just covered up the whole thing with red flowers for consistency. Right now it's black and gray mixed with color. I like the contrasting styles but I'm worried that it makes the cat face look unfinished and faded next to the bold red flowers. Thoughts?1 point

Should I just cover up the whole thing?

I think you mentioned before about possibly doing the cat's face in color, and I would suggest against that. You have so much black and gray in there already that putting color over top that would look muddy. The only thing you could really do that would make sense is to just have it darkened or outlined in some spots to add more contast, and even then, you're still going to have color up against black and gray. I personally love the juxtaposition of realism against a more illustrative style and think it brings out the best qualities of both tattoo styles. I think this was a great fix and improves the cat a lot. Get more tattoos and stop worrying about this one!1 point -

How much time did it take for these tattoos?

I'll accept your non-apology, I guess. I don't get the joke. Jews are cheap? Ha-ha, that's a good one. Never heard that before. The fact that you're Jewish – does that make it okay? I don't know. Maybe I'm easily offended. But no, I don't like antisemitism or racism or homophobia or any of that shit. And yes, I'll call it out when I see it – even on the internet and especially this forum because I don't want to see it fucked up by a bunch of trolls. And before you start in about the "PC police" or "safe spaces" or any of that shit... It's called trying not to be asshole when you can avoid it. A good policy to live by I think.1 point -
It was great seing you again Gareth! Although I have to admit I felt like a sadist at times too, haha. You're tougher than most!1 point

Made another Oslo trip last week to start a cover up on my lower stomach. While i was there i picked up a namakubi from Nicholas at Blue Arms. The cover up is ongoing and i don't mind admitting i'm very apprehensive about the next session! This was not a fun tattoo to get although Marius did his best to keep my spirits up and a visit from LST's own Mr @Iwar definitely kept me distracted from the significant pain!1 point -

Geez, this is tattoo, no cry babies ! Numbing cream, yeah good luck with that...cause when that shit wears off an hour in, it's going to slam your pain management into overdrive. Try drinking a half bottle of nyquil if you really want to feel nothing, but good luck with the stomach pain for the days after. Breathe and relax your feet, the body will follow. Schedule shorter sessions if you can't take it (and rib is no joke), don't need to be a hero. The best thing is to take tattoo straight, focused and healthy. Needle goes in easy, body heals better.1 point

yes, girls get tattoos of anything they want. It's not weird. Or if it's weird, who cares? Being normal isn't necessarily something to aspire to.1 point -
