  2. The origin of the phrase seems to be dating from the Roman empire, so it's not some marines or modern military saying.

  5. Found this explainer video that really accurately shows what happens during tattoo removal... worth the 85 seconds if you're interested http://www.businessinsider.com/what-happens-during-laser-tattoo-removal-2016-5 What's not covered though is that ink is not regulated, by anyone, and the application of tattoos is violent and can cause scar tissue. If the pigment becomes encapsulated with scar tissue from the tattooing process, it's very hard to remove it. Pigment colors, location on the body, lining vs. shading, age of both the tattoo and the person wearing it and overall immune system health are also variables in how successful each tattoo removal appointment are. Have questions about anything, leave a comment.

  7. Hello there! I am booked in with a local artist for my first proper tattoo, a full sleeve featuring my wonderful pets; my hound/collie cross, my three guinea pigs and two budgies :) I am absolutely certain on my chosen subject(s) but I had a dreadful tattoo experience just over ten years ago, including some horrible laser removal and it absolutely ruined anything to do with tattoos for me, plus the darn thing is still on my arm! Anyway, after dealing with some mental health problems last year, I decided to start to try and enjoy things again and I found myself looking up tattoo artists who specialise in the bright and the bold. Fortunately I have found one fairly local to me and his work (I feel) could add the element of fun that I'm looking for to represent how much joy my animals bring to me, but... I'm genuinely worried that it could be exactly like ten years ago, when I got home and burst into tears at how terrible it was! I know its different this time, this artist actually has talent for a start! and the studio has a very good reputation but the doubts still linger. I have even woke up in the middle of the night thinking "what am I doing?!" but the excited part comes in and reminds me of how crap things were last year and that those little animals got me through each day and how amazing it would be to have a dedication to them. I must admit, I do wonder if I'm the "right sort" of person to have a tattoo by which I mean, I can get hung up on very small things that to a regular person wouldn't really matter. If you have any words of wisdom/advice it would be truly welcome!

    Hi!

Hey guys, my name is Austin, and I'm excited to be a part of the forum! Currently have one tattoo I got in October, and awaiting an appointment in February with Myke Chambers (although the suspense is killing me). I hope to have some great discussions with you all in the future.

    Latest tattoo lowdown.....

WIP, can't wait to finish it next week :3 Dallas: Mother's interrupted the course of our journey. She's programmed to do that should certain conditions arise. They have. It seems that she has... intercepted a transmission of unknown origin. She got us up to check it out.

  14. 3.5 hours put in today by Tim and I. We covered a lot of ground, outlining my entire arm. the ditch of my arm wasn't awesome. Unfortunately for me theres an oni head right there so its going to seeing a lot more abuse. The atmosphere at atlas is rad, theres absolutely zero ego floating around. Everyones interested in what their peers are doing. Stoked to head back next week.

  15. Try not to overthink it (I call this Mind F*cking).Who knows, you may have been having a bad day the last time. You know that it's going to hurt but maybe it won't be as traumatic for this sitting. If you want it, you can do it (or try like hell). Focus on taking good care of yourself (mentally and physically) in the days before your appointment. Try to relax and focus on the outcome! Do whatever you need to do to get through it...there's lots of advice here to consider. Maybe talk to your doctor about ways to prepare, especially with your condition. :)

Got my first leg tattoo by Victor J Webster @ East River Tattoo in NYC yesterday. It's his interpretation of the Bakunawa, the Philippine mythical dragon which devours the moon and causes lunar eclipses.

  21. @exume Terrifically envious of that. Walt is an amazingly unusual tattooer. Also, you look like you may look just like my older cousin, who happens to live in Denver. At least in the red beard, glasses respect. I have a moustache that I hate to say, may have to be posted in all its glory soon. Good luck with the shading. I made an initial contact with Ben Cheese at Everlasting. I am getting a Chinese tiger v. blue wolf Battle Royale. Super excited to get started with the most important tattoo I've yet.
