  1. This was done last night by Gina at Studio 69 tattoo... on my ribs. Came close to tapping out. The mark on the upper left is a drain from my heart surgery.

    Hello help please

I agree, that the world has maybe gone a little crazy with political correctness and cultural appropriation. I don't think there is anything wrong with getting something from another culture tattooed, there is just something niggling at me with this piece, possibly because it's a skull. I think I'm going to have to speak to the tattoo artist. I don't think I should get something I'm not 100% comfortable with and I want a tattoo that I will always be proud to have. If it didn't bother me then I wouldn't let someone put me off getting it but because I'm unsure, it's probably not the tattoo for me. Just hope the artist is understanding about me changing it. If not then I'll just have to lose my deposit.

    Hello help please

It's a classic image. You might want to make sure that the head dress is authentic for whatever tribe. I'm not Native American but I doubt you'll offend too many people Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hello help please

my opinion is I wouldn't give a F*** what anyone else thought about it if it's what I want. " cultural appropriation ", it seems to me with all the political correctness gone wrong, everything people do offends somebody ! If I like a tattoo,I either like the art or it means something to me personally,I don't get it to offend anyone,I have several tattoos that are from other cultures,so what ? I think people need to lighten up a little.nobody owns a style or art form.

  6. I started my second tattoo last week, a full color saturated tattoo of the castle of hogwarts that covers the left side of my ribcage, belly and most of my left hip. My first tattoo was a big realistic lion on my thigh about the size of my outstretched hand. Since part of it was on my inner thigh and I managed to deal with it just fine while still talking and laughing through it I thought I would be just fine with my second tattoo. WRONG. Started crying twenty minutes into the outline and cried continuously for the next three hours. Cried so hard that the line work is a shaky mess (Artist tried his best, no blame there, he said it will be fixed when I fill in the color and considering the amazing job he did on my lion I have complete trust in him). I have no regrets, still thrilled to be getting this tattoo and will follow through with it but I need a better way to manage pain. There is no world in which I can handle coloring in this tattoo the way I was going. I was going to buy hush cream for my next appointment and try to do the tattoo in one to two hour stretches if I can. (I live in a wonderful state that has legalized marijuana, you know I'm taking advantage of that). What is the best pain management!? Best numbing cream (Using so much of this). Money is not a problem, I'm broke but I have the money to spare if it is worth it (I work two jobs, I'm not scrapping together pennies to pay for my tattoo, I have a good artist and my dream design)

  7. Welcome to LST. there are tons of great artists in New York who are more than capable of putting on a beautiful peony. The first few shops that come to mind are Invisible, Adorned, Three Kings, Kings Ave, and Saved. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

  9. My reply at the time was that I was "retro." My only regret was in not really doing enough research to get something that could be added to fairly easily if I opted to extend down my arm. Still, I love both of my tattoos - they speak to who I am and my experiences in life. That's what is most important to me.
