  3. That Thomas Hooper skull is MEGA... @SStu You've got my vote! Two entries from me: 1) 7 headed cobra and skull by Uncle Allan, about 2 years healed in this pic. 2) Tiger and wind-skull by Tim Lehi, healed a few months in this photo.

  9. I love that stuff too, best ever healing,(as long as it's on a good spot on your body),I thought it would be cool if they made an opaque version to be worn in the sun,I spoke with them and suggested that.anyway,it's the coolest shit ever,I do a lot of traveling and getting tattooed, and it is for sure the best on a plane coming home.set it and forget it ! LOL PS,the places on your body I was referring to is places like hands and neck that doesn't work so well.

  10. I love the Saniderm healing process! No worries of anything sticking to it. No washing and reapplying of ointments. No mess! Best healing process I have fouND. Plus you can show off your new piece without worries of getting contact with germs.

    Death moth tattoo?

You mean a Death's Head Hawmoth? They are cool little creatures, for sure. Plenty online about references to them in literature and art. 7 inches sounds pretty small for a stand alone chest piece unless you have a teeny, petite build or you'll be adding other elements around it.

Gian should have won of the final two. Sorry, but a big fat NO to Ryan. I liked Kelly most of the time, and I think she is very talented, but the whole women's alliance was deeply stupid. You are either good or you aren't. Woman schmoman. And I say this as a woman. Naw. Just tattoo and stop talking about your gender.

This was the first season I've watched so I don't have the perspective that others do. I'm also biased because Ryan is a local artist so I was happy to see her win for that reason. It did seem to me that the finale process was flawed in bringing three artists having had them all do major pieces, only to eliminate one of them based on the live work they did that day. Still, I enjoyed the season since, as a newcomer to tattooing, it gave me a chance to learn a lot about the craft by listening to the judging process. Oh, so I guess you don't want to see a picture of my personalized/signed coaster that Ryan did for me?

So spoilers I guess... ... Ryan won. I'm irritated. Almost every episode it seemed like she did black and gray stuff, her specialty. I thought Gian was overall the strongest competitor (never in the bottom, versatile in every style) and thought he deserved the win. The girls in general imo were way too egotistical and their skills just didn't match up. I am really irritated though that they didn't even show Kelly's final chest piece. Why ask her to do all that work and put in all that time and make the client suffer all those hours if it won't even appear on TV. And the fact that they penalized Kelly for doing new school when AMERICA VOTED FOR HER TO DO IT.

  23. That Chad Koeplinger and Jondix piece is nothing short of pure awesomeness. Here's my favorite Skull by Stewart Robson while he was at Frith Street Tattoo.

  24. I don't see anyone beating that Chad K/Jondix back, but I'll submit one of my skulls for the fun of it. I like the themed contests, at the very least they can serve as a good source of inspiration for people looking to get a certain thing tattooed. Anyways, here's my skull from Steve Byrne at ROA from a few years ago. Don't really have a healed photo, but found one that kinda works. It's loosely based off of a anti-bolshevik German propaganda poster I saw at the Harry Ransom center in Austin while I was in Austin earlier that day.

  25. Great thread! My first tattoo was a Chicago Bears logo on my butt, in 2007. At the time I wasn't into the Bears or tattoo's, but I was watching the game with some friends and for no good reason exclaimed "if they win at this point, I'll get their logo tattooed on me". My friend made me shake on it. Sure enough, some last minute miracles happened and they won. The first shop denied me. I didn't get another tattoo for another 6 years. Horitomo is in the process of covering the tattoo.
