Our first Lab, Daisy. She loved the toys at Christmas...but not the antlers. Our second Lab, Charlie wasn't a big fan either. And one of our current Labs, Duffy. The pictures of Charlie and Duffy were taken at the same time. A little while after we took the photos, we went out for a few hours. When we came back, Charlie and Duffy grabbed the antlers and Santa ears from a countertop and destroyed them. They made sure we understood they were not amused.

  6. My pup passed away back in June. Last Sunday, Jeff Rassier just so happened to have some time available for walk-ins, so I went and got his tiny tatt version of Huckleberry on my wrist. None of my tattoos has made me smile more! I don't think there are enough loved animal tattoos in this thread or perhaps I just haven't skimmed it in a while. Post 'em if ya got 'em!

@Gingerninja Charlie was my heart dog. We adopted him when he was 2 from a family with 3 young boys who wanted a puppy but didn't want the dog after he grew up. He came to us with a rash of misbehaviors but was the most loving and mild mannered dog ever. He rapidly earned his nickname, the Big Brown Butthead (you can see it on his name tag in the picture). You could always count on Charlie to run through the living room with one of Lynn's bras hanging from his mouth in the middle of a crowded party. We were able to retrain him and cured almost all of his behavioral issues...except he would bolt and run away in a heartbeat so we always had to keep him on leash. Our other dogs are always trained to stay with us so they are never on leash unless we are taking them off our property. It will be 2 years ago in March that we lost him to cancer - I still miss him every day.

Hey everyone! My name is Emily. I'm 26 years old, originally from Michigan, currently living in Florida. After a solid year of researching and reflecting, I finally got my first tattoo three weeks ago! You can imagine I sifted through a lot of shit information on tattoos and tattooing during that time, so I'm happy to have landed here at last. I've been lurking for the past few weeks and the trove of solid advice I've found here has done wonders for easing my numerous healing process anxieties. I'm also excited to have found a community of tattoo enthusiasts since my husband and most of my friends are completely uninterested in tattoo culture. I'm looking forward to joining the community, continuing to learn about the craft, and continuing to collect tattoos. Here's my new tattoo by Myra Oh out of Jacksonville, Florida. fresh: three weeks healed: close up (also three weeks healed; forgive my leg hair, I have no idea when it's okay for me to shave again): I'm a pharmacist currently pursuing advanced training in toxicology, so all of the plants in the tattoo are toxic.

This is our newest cat, Ivan. My son rescued him out of an abandoned car where he works at 5 weeks old. He's into everything but a good kitten. Pics are from 3 to 5 months and I need to take fresh ones. He's 7 months old now.

So spoilers I guess... ... Ryan won. I'm irritated. Almost every episode it seemed like she did black and gray stuff, her specialty. I thought Gian was overall the strongest competitor (never in the bottom, versatile in every style) and thought he deserved the win. The girls in general imo were way too egotistical and their skills just didn't match up. I am really irritated though that they didn't even show Kelly's final chest piece. Why ask her to do all that work and put in all that time and make the client suffer all those hours if it won't even appear on TV. And the fact that they penalized Kelly for doing new school when AMERICA VOTED FOR HER TO DO IT.

Aw, the Big Brown Butthead. It's crazy how our fur babies steal our hearts. Cancer sucks. My dog tattoo means a tremendous amount to me. I got it for all of my dogs, current, past and future. I think you need a big brown dog tattoo. :) @Devious6

Let's see...starting from the bottom left and working clockwise: lily of the valley, belladonna (kind of hard to see in the photos I posted, but they just look like black round berries), foxglove, poppy bud, yellow oleander, two morning glories, pokeberry, autumn crocus, more lily of the valley, and a big poppy in the middle. Thank you for the warm welcome everyone!

  24. If tattooing just worked by placing a pool of ink under the skin, then the force of impacts could force it to move like squashing a blood-filled tick. But it doesn't. The ink placed in the epidermis during the process is mostly consumed by macrophages which are sent by the body's immune system to deal with the intruding ink or absorbed by skin cells - fibroblasts. The majority of the macrophages and fibroblasts remain in the epidermis and retain the ink which is why the tattoo remains visible. Over time, some ink does break down and gets carried away which is why they fade over time. But, the cells don't get moved about when you get hit. You may have bruising as the body reacts to the trauma...much like when you got tattooed, but the cells don't get rearranged and pushed out into other areas on the epidermis. I learned this by watching a TED video.

  26. your tattoo is alive brotha - its not art hanging on your skin - it is your skin - anything and everything that can and will damage you - like living - can also have the same impact on your tattoo - stop thinking so hard - live your life and enjoy this shit

  27. I would recomend a scientific approach to finding out if this happens. The first step is to have a professional topographical survey done of the two full sleeves on both your arms. After that you will have to keep close track of any impacts that your arm's sustain. The g-force measuring equipment is heavy and hot, but in the name of science I feel you should person-up and wear it for the cause. Finally after each impact above the small bump level (impact force in kilonewtons as yet to be defined) you will need to re-survey both your two full sleeves on both your arms daily, perhaps twice, to look for fading. External variables, such as light exposure and aging will be hard to account for, but hopefully the measuring equipment will provide some sun protection. Best of luck in this scientific endeavor! I salute your bravery and willingness to devote your life to the furthering of our tattoo longevity factor knowledge.

Sorry if pics are huge (although I don't think dog pictures could ever be a problem), but my boyfriend and I adopted a dog recently! Her name is Maggie, she's a terrier mix. Her owner was going into a nursing home and had to surrender her to a rescue. She's very sweet and very lazy.

  31. There are 42 tattoos on the link in the above post and maybe like 2 of them made me stop scrolling for a second. that is a comparative metaphor to the state of present day tattooing. If you want a tiger...get a tiger If you want a butterfly...get a butterfly If you like Japanese culture...research Japanese tattoo motifs. My advice is know what you want and keep it simple.
