Booked in with Marius Meyer in the beginning of february. Been putting it of for years, but now is the time! Told him I would be getting a dragon, but I might get something else. Doesn't really matter, as everything he does is perfect.5 points -
Initiation and post-tattoo anxiety
Machcekborrach and one other reacted to Gingerninja for a topic
Hi there - welcome! I hope that today is a less anxious day for you. Deep breaths. :) This forum has amazing, very successful and professional people who are tattooed. Remember, it's your body and you can choose to decorate it anyway that you please. If someone is going to judge you for having a tattoo, that tells you more about *them* than you. Some will understand, some won't...and that's OKAY. Not everyone knows that I'm tattooed which is MY choice. It's super interesting to watch people react...I know exactly who they are, how they operate and how to deal with them after they know/see my work. It's a fantastic 'tell'. Most of the time they don't know that I watch them react, then adapt to their reactions. :)2 points -
Bump in tattoo has me worried
marfil98 and one other reacted to Gingerninja for a topic
Two things, leave it alone and go see your artist. I had a similar bump that lasted for almost 3 months but finally went away!2 points -
welcome ! post tattoo remorse is a common and real feeling,I have had it many times, and I still get it to this day ! IMO it's a "buyers remorse" in a way. my post tattoo remorse is always about the money not the tattoo though, LOL but it always quickly goes away after a week or so,then I start planning my next one ! LOL you're screwed now ! it's an addiction worse then any drug ! but WAY better ! my addiction started in 1985 and has only gotten worse ! P.S. that's the beauty of "tattoo remorse" ! what's done is done, and it's on you,so love it,like it,live with it,try and learn ,and go on to the next one.2 points

Full Back Piece Experience Thread
havetsherre and one other reacted to Matej Haviar for a topic
@scottyg Looks rad man! Lining is pretty awful, feels a bit like being cut in half haha. But as said before earlier in this thread, the stoke will pull you through! How far down are you taking it? To the ass or to the knees? On Saturday, I just tipped over 20 hours in on my back and very satisfyingly started colour. The black is completely done and it now looks like a proper backpiece. Three and half hours to finish up blocking out the thighs, and a quick sit on some red before calling it quits. Going from the last couple of sessions on soft, squishy areas back to over spine and shoulder blades was quite a shock. Definitely not looking forward to the massive block of colour over the middle of my back.2 points -

Hello from Milwaukee
Gingerninja reacted to Mike Thompson for a topic
Hello everyone! I've lurked here a bit & decided to sign up & post a quick hello. I've gotten a few tattoos recently after not getting any for a few years, and I've definitely caught the bug big time. My most recent piece is this Kappa head by Zach Black @ Riverwest Tattoo. I'm really happy with it & thinking about seeing if he can expand on it & turn it into a half sleeve.1 point -

I think you are NUTS for not being in love with that tattoo. Super nice. And we are really picky here.1 point

That area is prime for blow outs. I have a few in the same area. Mostly it's lines that blow out, not the coloring or shading. Once he shades and colors it in, you'll never see the blowout again. Super nice by the way! Don't sweat the little bits of fuzz. You will never see them again once it's finished1 point

It is probably not going to affect your career. I work in the brokerage industry, and it is not an issue. I just have to wear pants suits or opaque hose. In general, my colleagues are interested in my tattoos.1 point

i'm not sure if these falls into the "Do Not" section of the LST Guidelines, https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/guidelines/ I'd say, if that shop posts an opening for a shop assistant... apply! it doesn't matter how much you wanna work at the shop if they don't need you. in the meantime, keep getting tattooed there!1 point

Japanese traditional sleeve ??
Gingerninja reacted to a_beukeveld for a topic
The koi and dragon is a great image. There is a Chinese legend of The Dragon Gate, where the koi that ascends the waterfall and reaches the peak is transformed into a dragon. In Japan, the koi repressents hard work, dedication, and confidence. The koi s a symbol used on Boys Day, in hopes that your sons would be like the koi. The koi swimming the waterfall and being transformed into a powerful beast repressents over coming obstacles in ones life and attaining greatness and success through hard work and dedication. The dragon ascending into the heavens repressents success in life. I think you should have the koi on your forarm and dragon on you upper arm. Its a beautiful image, and great story. The hannya repressents anger, jealousy and sarrow, and can be used as a symbol of change, (usually paired with maple leaves for this reason) a repressentation of the full swing of human emotion, (sarrow and mourning to bitter hatred and jealousy) or the dark side to something that was once beautiful. As far as motifs go it doesnt really fit. Id leave it out of your sleeve and get a seperate one-point style hannya elsewhere on your body. But this is just my western impression of the info I have. I encourage you to do your own research. I can see the tattoo now, with the koi on the forarm paired with rocks, water and sea grass, transitioning to the dragon on your upper arm paired with clouds and whirlwind. Really beautiful.1 point -
sorry folks these photos are too big, don't know how to resize down, i've been having probs linking urls from the 'gram, I've got a little choice spot above the skull. i actually think i might blast over the nonsensical skull. who knows what yet. and here's the wraparound OllieXXX whale in better view:1 point

this is my project for next season (winter) i'm going to tile in some background in and behind the frog...perhaps some overlapping matrix of black and red spider webs. I don't know about the other side (inner thigh), its my last major space for a big tattooo. Something with fire, crazy colours, the weirder the better.1 point

Palm/Lightning Bolt are 12years old, Turtle is 11, Shark is 7, Octopus is 6 ... :) it's almost time to start thinking about filling in those open spots on the back of the calf. blast in solid bright-ass yellow in the bad brains bolt. maybe a mini-beach scene inside the palm tree. likely going to blast over the red-yellow rising sun. also thinking of getting the turtle redone (by the same tattooer Miles Kanne) in the next few years. I'm keeping the blue water, how Y2K-Canadian of me1 point

Who do you think deserves some recognition?
PlaceInTheSun reacted to MadeIndelible for a topic
Chris Marchetto. I don't have any pictures. I just think that his attitude towards tattooing is one of the best that I have seen in the short while that I've been studying tattoos. He's not into being pretentious, or whether or not he knows so and so. He's a human who happens to tattoo.1 point
