    Snake and Celtic cover up

Just had some line work done in the sunny Highlands of Scotland to cover up a 20yr old snake and some random Celtic flashes. It's a big raven that's going to have a good bit of leaf and flower colour surrounding her in neo trad fashion I note that four days in, the lines in my upper shoulder neck area have blown a bit. May heal a little better but I'm trying not to stress and think that the colouring will sort it out... The area was a bit nippy and maybe my skin, maybe the depth, who knows. I think it can be remedied in the completion - she is a big black bird after all. Fun and games. Colour going in on the 19th. Quite excited about having this large raven shoulder with me! Stephen

  10. Another month, another contest :) RULES: The tattoo photos posted in this thread will be submitted for polling of Last Sparrow's Best SKULL tattoo. This is all in good spirit and fun of course. The submission process opens on the 1st of the month and ends on the 20th of the month. After that there will be an open poll for one week, which will close on the 27th, and the tattoo with the most votes wins. Your tattoo picture must be posted in this thread (both tattooers and tattoo customers can win) in order to qualify. Include tattoo artist name & tattoo shop with your photo/post. You MUST be the one who has the tattoo or did the tattoo. It MUST be a finished tattoo It MUST fit the theme of the contest The theme of December is: SKULLS(Does NOT include reapers)

  11. welcome to LST and to the world of being a tattooed person! It sounds like your experience so far has already triggered you to self-assess a bit. Perhaps there has always been a tsunami inside of you and this external change has magnified it or forced you to pay attention to it. Now you get to learn to control and harness it. Check out this short, yet meaningful thread, if you haven't already: https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/t/5645-cool-stuff-youve-learnedgotten-intoetc-thanks-to-getting-tattooed/?page=1

    Snake and Celtic cover up

Thanks. Going back in on the 19th for a full day sitting - update pics after that. Hope we can successfully sort out the bleed at the top but I'm hopeful it will be cool. Guerra's stuff is pretty cool. I want the Raven to have the feel of this hand piece he did. Neo trad is his thing.

    Upcoming Tattoos

The closest I'm getting to a tattoo this year looks to be the plane ticket for my consultation in March I'm buying tomorrow. Between my other hobbies and being a college student I really don't have to worry about pacing myself, my life budgets my tattoos for me

  21. @otisc thanks man! If you go to traditionaltool's IG you can see it with the surrounding sketch. There's going to be another say 6 hours of line work.... Like I said, I tapped out early.... But my understanding is that traditional Japanese back pieces are usually 2 hours every two weeks. Shorter sittings over a longer period. That suits me better: it becomes a discipline that way, a practice. Anyway, thanks again.

  22. In that case I'll submit my other skull as well, because why not? This one was done by Mario Desa when he was still at Chicago Tattoo Co., back in 2011-12. The photo is a couple of years old, but the tattoo was a few years healed at that point.

    Snake and Celtic cover up

@Makar also,I have a neck tattoo that had the same kind of blow out in that exact area, blowouts can happen to anyone anywhere on their body by even the best artists. if you look at mine, there is only blowout at the bottom 1/3 where that soft thin skin is. but like I said, that area is notorious for blowouts.it is what it is,I stressed over it at first, but I'm ok with it now.I think me trying to have it fixed would only make it worse. mine is worse than yours I think. .

  26. My pup passed away back in June. Last Sunday, Jeff Rassier just so happened to have some time available for walk-ins, so I went and got his tiny tatt version of Huckleberry on my wrist. None of my tattoos has made me smile more! I don't think there are enough loved animal tattoos in this thread or perhaps I just haven't skimmed it in a while. Post 'em if ya got 'em!

  30. There are 42 tattoos on the link in the above post and maybe like 2 of them made me stop scrolling for a second. that is a comparative metaphor to the state of present day tattooing. If you want a tiger...get a tiger If you want a butterfly...get a butterfly If you like Japanese culture...research Japanese tattoo motifs. My advice is know what you want and keep it simple.

  32. this is my project for next season (winter) i'm going to tile in some background in and behind the frog...perhaps some overlapping matrix of black and red spider webs. I don't know about the other side (inner thigh), its my last major space for a big tattooo. Something with fire, crazy colours, the weirder the better.

  33. Palm/Lightning Bolt are 12years old, Turtle is 11, Shark is 7, Octopus is 6 ... :) it's almost time to start thinking about filling in those open spots on the back of the calf. blast in solid bright-ass yellow in the bad brains bolt. maybe a mini-beach scene inside the palm tree. likely going to blast over the red-yellow rising sun. also thinking of getting the turtle redone (by the same tattooer Miles Kanne) in the next few years. I'm keeping the blue water, how Y2K-Canadian of me

  44. My pegs, tattoos by RHW (snake and rose), Cris Cleen (lady in the mirror), BHR (vulture head), Carolyn Le Bourgeois (snake, Niña Blanca), Scott Sylvia (candle burning at both ends), and Nick Colella (eagle and flag). No plans but to fill them up with rad tattoos.

  45. Credit should go where credit is due, this idea actually came from @BrianH Anyway, here's my legs, or the start of them anyway. You can't actually see most of what I have on them. The panther rose was done by Chad Koeplinger, the ship is by Ron Henry Wells, you can see a bit of a swallow done by Bert (I don't know his last name but he goes as "Bert Monster") who worked at Tattoomania in Montreal when I got that tattoo, but now works out of a private studio, I believe. You can also see tiny bits of a rose and a snake done by Tony D'Annessa, and a tiger-faced hannya done by Danny at Tatouage Artistique. More towards the back of my right leg, and totally out of view is a piece of Doc Forbes flash done by Chris Hold who tattoos at Sacred Heart in Vancouver. Not everything on them goes together, but I like my legs because it's been a lot of fun getting those tattoos. I'm waiting to hear on some time off I requested from work to go to Barcelona, so hopefully I'll manage to add something else to my legs from El Monga or another one of those Aloha guys in July.
