  1. Hey, this info actually kicked off a search that ended up making some plausible sense out of why the thing wasn't visible at the derma exam, so, yeah -- many thanks!

  2. For what it's worth, I read that "disco" type UV lights produce UV-A light (closer to optical spectrum) but dermatologists can use either UV-A or UV-B. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviolet#Subtypes http://www.aocd.org/?page=PhototherapyUVB https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blacklight#Fluorescent

I don't have much room left on my legs so they will be smaller pieces.but it should be fun.

    Lower leg tattoo

@BrickyOdin cool work you got going on there! As for my self, I am going through a tough time with my knee. So far it has been my roughest healing. I am on day 8 and finally the knee feels some what normal.... There is a quite a bit of scabbing even though I did my best to avoid it (lots of good cleaning, etc...) Knee sucks... Worst than my foot for sure.

  9. Give it time. Different inks, different techniques, and different parts of the body will all heal differently. Update us in a bit when it fully heals. Cool tattoo.

  10. I'm trying to focus more on the logistics than the backstory, but, yeah, basically someone did this without my knowledge or consent. I know who, and roughly when, but I was pretty young and there was a lot of other crazy stuff going on for me. I guess getting poked in the neck just didn't register as memorable in comparison to the more flamboyantly weird things that were happening in my life at the time, lol! I had a bit of a wild ride up until my mid-twenties, but since then I've kinda had the perfect life: small, uneventful, and full of love, laughter, and contentment. You know what they say ... I wouldn't go back and relive it, but I also wouldn't change a thing.

  11. It may be a good idea to see a dermatologist so they can see what's happening to the skin. I missed the description - there may be an explanation as to why it's phosphorescent - as it could be something you may want removed... good luck!

  14. This was taken at a local Chamber of Commerce awards gala last week. I'm Chairman of the Board - 6 months left of my two year stint.

  15. I don't have a clue to the questions you've asked - I'm a newcomer to the tattoo world. But, welcome to the forum, I hope no one did in fact "mark" you, and I hope you find the answers to your questions.

  16. Same way you do research on anything else. Time and exposure. Knowledge is experience. Best way to learn is to get tattooed. You'd be surprised what you can pick up from just talking to your artist (and the artists working next to you) for hours on end. But I get that that may be too far for a lot of people at first. No one starts out knowing it all. This forum is as central a repository of tattoo knowledge as you can get, (apart from actual artists) so peruse the topics here. Pick up some magazines, use instagram, check out yelp reviews, look at pictures. Lots of pictures. What Graeme said is true, a picture doesn't really give you in depth understanding of a tattoo or an artist's capabilities, but it does increase your exposure. And something is better than nothing. In time you'll start to develop a sense for what you like, and also what a good drawing/design looks like vs. a bad one. What good shading, color, linework looks like and all that.
