Some Odd Questions About UV Tattoos

I did a search but didn't see anything more than "getting/just got my first tattoo" type threads. Wondered about everyone's first ever tattoos. Do you still have it? Do you still like it? Do you feel attached to it? Etc. I got my first two days after I turned 18, on Halloween, 1992. My best friend and I got matching tattoos-a rose off the wall. Hers is teal, mine is purple. We were the only tattooed students in high school, and were considered huge bad asses. People remarked about how large it was and I thought, really? It didn't seem large to me, but, yanno, then party dots became like the "cool thing" to do, so if you put my rose next to a party dot it looked like I had a full bodysuit to those people I guess. As I've gone along in my tattoo adventures, I had one of mine covered, which ended up turning into this big Japanese wind/water deal, and now I'm looking at my first few from my 18-21 year old self and wondering if I want to keep them like they are, rework them, incorporating them into something new either way..or remove/cover them w/something else that fits me now.2 points

New addition to my "bird collection". Done by Pavla (Poppy Tattoo) during her guest spot in Prague. The photo is hers. Concerning the watercolor tattoos and their ability to hold, I can now compare the 2 year old tattoo with this new one because they are placed right next to each other. The older one still looks great and vivid. But I have very pale skin, and I almost never sunbathe.2 points -

Great thread! My first tattoo was a Chicago Bears logo on my butt, in 2007. At the time I wasn't into the Bears or tattoo's, but I was watching the game with some friends and for no good reason exclaimed "if they win at this point, I'll get their logo tattooed on me". My friend made me shake on it. Sure enough, some last minute miracles happened and they won. The first shop denied me. I didn't get another tattoo for another 6 years. Horitomo is in the process of covering the tattoo.2 points -

hi @llap17 welcome trying to follow your questions here...first things first, just relax and let your body do its thing to heal. how old are these tattoos? tattoos superficially heal within a month but it may take several months to heal below the surface. tattoos in high mobility areas ie ditch, elbows, hands, ankles, etc will take longer to heal and are more prone to scabbing. the first tattoo - i can see the black area is looking a little crusty but it's still healing. if it's been a couple months mr.tattooer probably went a little rough. give it more time time. the remainder of the tattoo looks like he went too shallow IMO from the faded look of the lines and dots on the bottom of the tattoo. maybe its the healing and the photo quality IDK? but can't tell what the tattoo is supposed to be of aside from the inconsistencies. the second tattoo - if its a coverup, your bud is tattooing thick black over scar tissue. so it will be a little raised. that's ok, again just let it heal. some tattoos you can feel them raise, depending on different variable ie your body response and how the tattoo was made/applied, that's just part of the game and the risk. some people (myself included) will notice tattoos get extra raised depending on weather. everyone's body and skin is different. don't worry you're not going to die or lose your arm. just keep getting tattooed. maybe try someone new with a little more finesse in making the tattoo. cheers2 points -
I haven't posted anything in a long time but this is a tattoo I got in October by Scott Sylvia. I plan on booking another appointment with him on Thursday. I'll be sure to post pics. I think I attached the pictures correctly. Let me know if you see it! Thank you all for looking.2 points

i dont like the shadow. keep it simple. if we are using google image as reference i would get something more like this: also make sure you go to a good artist or it might end up looking more phallic than you want.1 point

my first ever tattoo I got about 7-8 years ago - its covered now - basically i went to a local shop - got a small tattoo of plankton (yes from spongebob) which promptly became infected - skin fell off - scars were established - it was then covered by this Bob Marley tattoo - which was later chewed on by a pitbull (whole nother thread there) - anyway - my tattoo selection process has changed since then - and I dont think i'd ever get another coverup - anyway...1 point -

I got my first tattoo about 5 years ago when my wife decided it was time for her to get a new tattoo after a long break. We decided to get matching tattoos of a terrible drawing I had done on a Mother's Day card of the two of us and our daughter all holding hands. Think of those stickers people put on their mini vans except drawn by someone who can't even print his own name legible most of the time. It is by far my worst tattoo and one of my favorites. I never thought that it would lead to all these other tattoos.1 point -

I got my first about six months ago...a month shy of my 61st birthday. Got my second last Saturday. After many years of finding excuses not to do it, I finally decided it was time to make it happen. Where do I go from here? I have no clue...but you never know.1 point -
