  5. will add...2 months the tattoo is only superficially healed. usually takes about 6 months for everything to really settle underneath the skin.

  6. Well, I guess I'll throw my "cat" in the ring (groannnn haha). I'm very happy with how this turned out. The pics are of the fresh tattoo. It has healed beautifully. Done a month ago by Franz Stefanik at the Okey Doke in Toronto, ON. I'll toss in the before and after pics too as it was a cover up of a sad old bird. 32 years old to be exact. And, I love the line work !

Background could be cool, but I think you have enough space under that bicep for another decent piece in there before getting to that point. "Just put a panther on it."

  8. Here's a panther bursting free from a rose. This was done a little over three years ago by Chad Koeplinger and is a bit beat up like a tattoo should be.

  11. I had a similar sensation with my last tattoo, also. Portions of it were more sensitive than others and did feel like a mild sunburn, especially when touched by my shirt or hand - and I never had that with my first tattoo. Not sure if it was related to the colored inks and might have been a mild reaction or just related to the process or......? It did settle down over time and now feels totally normal. I'm just at 8 weeks now so mine did settle out more quickly - but I've learned here from the experts that each person heals differently, and each tattoo can be a new experience in healing, too.

  12. Some of mine have done this...feels more like a "nervy" sensation under the skin than anything else, for me (not sunburnish - more just really itchy or sensitive to touch). With mine, it normally goes away within 4-5 months or so - which is when any rough spots in the tattoo tend to smooth out as well. That's just me, of course, and everyone's different, but my .02, for what it's worth...

  13. I've experienced something similiar...but the discomfort was never anything so bad and unbearable that it prevented me from doing my day to day shit. it was more just intermittent itchiness for several months...just wanted to scratch and scratch like a dog with fleas. not sure what the cause was, it settled down over time and my leg didn't fall off. so that's good haha! I speculate that it may be the homebrew ink my bud was using...or chemical reaction of mixing inks (when he mixed the green and white, that shit bubbled like a school volcano science project in the cap)...or my body reacting to the pigments? I don't know. but I just sucked it up and scratched ... that green ink is still BRIGHT AS FACK. then again, i'm in this ongoing cycle of getting and healing tattoo and I'm just used to always feeling like a lizard. maybe try soaking in an epsom salt bath ??? good luck ps nice octopus tattoo

I think you should take a few hours and watch some LST interview videos before posting again. Nobody wants to hear every new idea you have every single day, especially when you seem to have no actual interest in educating yourself about good tattoos.

  19. All have been amazing so far!!! Here's a panther and some roses done by Jebb Riley, done at Congress st tattoo. This was a spur of the moment cover up started while I was waiting on Chad Koeplinger to color in my chest eagle. He was running late, so I made good use of the down time. Done in 3 sessions. Second pick is a half shot of it healed several years later.

  20. Got back from the shop a while ago, came back with two new pieces. First and foremost, something I've always wanted, an American traditional panther! I love the way it turned out. And while I was there I got this cool little smoking tophat-skull to go with my cowboy skull on the opposite shoulder.

    Full body suit people?

ah the ol' Rule of Nines ! thx for bumping this thread ...i estimate I'm at least 80% ... checkboard man claims 95% ... i dunno you tell me on a side note...i started my 2nd layer yesterday ! so to answer the original thread question, nah I'm not bummed at all the closer i come to "completion", it isn't bittersweet at all. In fact very much the opposite. Now there is another dimension and this stage in my tattoo project and that is new layers and density. The more I get tattooed the more I realize that my tattoo project/journey is not at all about the finish line but about the moments/events/tattoos along the way - just like life...yes, birth and death but life is about living - the events and moments in between.

  25. Let's keep this momentum going! My panther vs. snake by Bailey Hunter Robinson. This tattoo just celebrated it's 5th year looking out at the world. Done in one sitting with about 4 hours of tattoo time, while Bailey was still in NYC. This was my first big tattoo, and I'm still stoked on it everyday!!! Play on LST.

  26. ok - I'm gonna be first to enter with my Robert Ryan Mandala Leopard which resides on my stomach - hopefully the leopard can qualify as its the closest thing to a panther that I have - no hard feelings if it doesnt meet the qualifications - done at Electric Tattoo in Asbury Park NJ - if you havent been tattooed by Robert or been to Electric - well...you're missing out - luckily I live only short drive from the shop - anyway - here you go...btw - this tattoo also made his awesome book - The Inborn Absolute :)

  30. I am pro nipple obliteration. I have a blank front at the moment but am trying to brainstorm up the best way to do a full front piece that works for women. This is my favourite. Full front in progress by Rafel Delalande. RIP nipples.
