All have been amazing so far!!! Here's a panther and some roses done by Jebb Riley, done at Congress st tattoo. This was a spur of the moment cover up started while I was waiting on Chad Koeplinger to color in my chest eagle. He was running late, so I made good use of the down time. Done in 3 sessions. Second pick is a half shot of it healed several years later.9 points -

Got back from the shop a while ago, came back with two new pieces. First and foremost, something I've always wanted, an American traditional panther! I love the way it turned out. And while I was there I got this cool little smoking tophat-skull to go with my cowboy skull on the opposite shoulder.8 points

Well, I guess I'll throw my "cat" in the ring (groannnn haha). I'm very happy with how this turned out. The pics are of the fresh tattoo. It has healed beautifully. Done a month ago by Franz Stefanik at the Okey Doke in Toronto, ON. I'll toss in the before and after pics too as it was a cover up of a sad old bird. 32 years old to be exact. And, I love the line work !5 points -

I think you should take a few hours and watch some LST interview videos before posting again. Nobody wants to hear every new idea you have every single day, especially when you seem to have no actual interest in educating yourself about good tattoos.4 points

Let's keep this momentum going! My panther vs. snake by Bailey Hunter Robinson. This tattoo just celebrated it's 5th year looking out at the world. Done in one sitting with about 4 hours of tattoo time, while Bailey was still in NYC. This was my first big tattoo, and I'm still stoked on it everyday!!! Play on LST.3 points -
TATTOO OF THE MONTH IS BACK!!! Hope we see a strong turnout on this. RULES: The tattoo photos posted in this thread will be submitted for polling of Last Sparrow's Best PANTHER tattoo. This is all in good spirit and fun of course. The submission process opens on the first of the month and ends on the 20th of the month. After that there will be an open poll for one week, which will close on the 27th, and the tattoo with the most votes wins. Your tattoo picture must be posted in this thread (both tattooers and tattoo customers can win) in order to qualify. Include tattoo artist name & tattoo shop with your photo/post. You MUST be the one who has the tattoo or did the tattoo. It MUST be a finished tattoo It MUST fit the theme of the contest The theme of November is:2 points

Background could be cool, but I think you have enough space under that bicep for another decent piece in there before getting to that point. "Just put a panther on it."2 points -

ok - I'm gonna be first to enter with my Robert Ryan Mandala Leopard which resides on my stomach - hopefully the leopard can qualify as its the closest thing to a panther that I have - no hard feelings if it doesnt meet the qualifications - done at Electric Tattoo in Asbury Park NJ - if you havent been tattooed by Robert or been to Electric - well...you're missing out - luckily I live only short drive from the shop - anyway - here you go...btw - this tattoo also made his awesome book - The Inborn Absolute :)2 points -
@guitguy fantastic. Love that one! @9Years thanks!!! Your arm is sick! @bongsau totally what drew me to the design. I like my panthers all jacked up! Yours RULES1 point

the forearm (inside and/or outside) is primo real estate ... choose wisely like a 2" long line vector with a triangle point? such an insignificant design to tattoo IMO unless you're going for a high-school binder doodle look, i mean to each their own... i've seen stylized arrows (yknow bow-n-arrow arrows with arrowheads and feathered tails) run along the length of the outside forearm. consider something shot up to hell with arrows https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Sebastian here's where the 'shot with arrows' design and symbolism originated from.1 point -

ah the ol' Rule of Nines ! thx for bumping this thread ...i estimate I'm at least 80% ... checkboard man claims 95% ... i dunno you tell me on a side note...i started my 2nd layer yesterday ! so to answer the original thread question, nah I'm not bummed at all the closer i come to "completion", it isn't bittersweet at all. In fact very much the opposite. Now there is another dimension and this stage in my tattoo project and that is new layers and density. The more I get tattooed the more I realize that my tattoo project/journey is not at all about the finish line but about the moments/events/tattoos along the way - just like life...yes, birth and death but life is about living - the events and moments in between.1 point

Latest tattoo lowdown.....
Kingdomhearts25 reacted to suburbanxcore for a topic
These are both a year or more old at this point, but I never actually put them in this thread. The death's head moth was done by Oliver Peck when he guested at Kadillac Tattoo Mt. Airy (Philadelphia) last summer. Not the best picture, but he ended up slipping a lot of hot pink in there that wasn't at all what I'd expect from him. In the end, I loved it and was happy with how it came out. Getting tattooed by Oliver is as great as you'd expect. I had just gotten my shin done by Scott the week before and mentioned in our emails; Oliver came barging in yelling, "Lemme see that Scott tat!" right off the bat. After we were done, he actually took his shirt off and showed me a ton of his tattoos from Scott, Trevino, Rassier, Stell, etc. So fucking awesome. The torch moth was done by Keith Reed at X-Treme in West Chester, PA shortly after they moved to their new location. This was a "thank you" tattoo for helping them move. Keith is the best. Just an every day, no-bullshit, hard-working tattooer. Without him, I wouldn't know shit about tattoos. Not the best pic in the world, but @Dan and I were chatting back and forth and I realized I should probably upload em. Once that Grez knee you can see half done gets finished, I'll hit up the squidpants thread.1 point -

Great thread! This is why I love LST! I live in an environment where none of my friends have any interest whatsoever in tattoos. It is hard enough for them to get past the notion that I am tattooed. So asking them for their thoughts on coordinating clothing with tattoos would be a hilarious non-starter. But here, you get dozens of people who think about the same thing, and have ideas to share, and its no big deal. Thanks you guys! - - - Updated - - - I don't show my tattoos very much in my normal environment. But when we are on vacation away from home I do. In that case, if I am just out and about, I don't think much about coordinating my clothes. But if we are going out to dinner at a nice restaurant or something like that, and if am going to let my sleeves show, I generally tend toward solid colors, and black or charcoal, because it doesn't clash with the patterns of my tattoos. I like white too, because it really lets the tattoos take the lead because of the contrast. One of my favorite looks if I really want to rock my tattoos is a sleeveless white turtleneck. You have all of that pure white, and then "Pow!" – these colorful arms pop out of the sleeve openings. Love it.1 point
