  3. These are both a year or more old at this point, but I never actually put them in this thread. The death's head moth was done by Oliver Peck when he guested at Kadillac Tattoo Mt. Airy (Philadelphia) last summer. Not the best picture, but he ended up slipping a lot of hot pink in there that wasn't at all what I'd expect from him. In the end, I loved it and was happy with how it came out. Getting tattooed by Oliver is as great as you'd expect. I had just gotten my shin done by Scott the week before and mentioned in our emails; Oliver came barging in yelling, "Lemme see that Scott tat!" right off the bat. After we were done, he actually took his shirt off and showed me a ton of his tattoos from Scott, Trevino, Rassier, Stell, etc. So fucking awesome. The torch moth was done by Keith Reed at X-Treme in West Chester, PA shortly after they moved to their new location. This was a "thank you" tattoo for helping them move. Keith is the best. Just an every day, no-bullshit, hard-working tattooer. Without him, I wouldn't know shit about tattoos. Not the best pic in the world, but @Dan and I were chatting back and forth and I realized I should probably upload em. Once that Grez knee you can see half done gets finished, I'll hit up the squidpants thread.

  10. I treat the internet exactly the same way I try to live my "real life." If I don't have anything nice to say, I really try not to say anything at all. Also like "real life," I do my best to ignore idiots. If I see a thread from a by a poster I don't particularly like or don't know or I see that they're the most recently reply, I skip it (or save it for true boredom). I don't have to read everything on here just because it's there. And I sure as shit don't have to reply to it just to hear my own digital voice. Just because I (think I) have pretty ok tattoos doesn't mean I can talk down to someone who has crappy tattoos. It doesn't mean I'll be high fiving them or whatever someone said, but I'm not here to shit all over clowns online, either. It seems there are a few people on here lately who think they're the gatekeepers to either good tattooing or this website, when in reality they're just a joker with a keyboard and some tattoos. Back to mostly browsing the lowdown, upcoming, and contest threads almost exclusively.

  11. this /\ ,,, personally I see a post that long and there is no way I will read it,I just pass it by. @Charles.M maybe a personal blog would be a better place for you and your thoughts.

  12. Got a small tattoo yesterday that I think qualifies as a "groin" tattoo. It's located on my hip bone towards my pube area. This healing should be interesting. The tegaderm has already ripped once, so I slapped another piece over it. Good times.

  13. @oboogie Regardless of what you apparently think, you have no bearing on my digital world. I have literally replied to you in one thread prior to this one. In this instance, I was addressing a three page thread and said absolutely nothing about or to any of your comments. I've been here for years and have never made it my style to call people out or anything of the sort. Feel free to check any of my posts. Additionally, It's also hard to not comment on threads you post in - you post in almost every thread.

  14. I am with these guys. There is no way I am reading it, and you should probably start a blog. I wouldn't trust an artist who doesn't post at least some of his work on the internet. It's 2016. Step into the 21st century. And how could we see your work since we have no idea where you tattoo? It's a little weird.

  15. A lot of state of the union discussion around here lately... For what it's worth- I like getting to know folks on the Internet around a shared interest and then discussing anything and everything with them. This, as you can imagine, lends itself to varied results depending on community norms and moderator energy. I have wondered if a daily, or probably weekly, general thread would help. It would give new posters a place to follow current conversation and jump in to ask a simple question without doing masters level research. It would also give me a place to complain about how disappointing the Timberwolves were in the season opener or tell you if my wife gets Nick Cave tickets tomorrow (fingers crossed). In other, more relevant news, the tattoo shop both emailed and called to conform my appointment for Sunday so they must be as excited to put a tattoo on me and I am to be tattooed.

    Hello

LOL sorry but that sounded just like a politician answering a direct question without answering the question ! just a funny observation,no personal attack intended.

  17. Come on, man. Don't go around pretending that you're being victimized here when you have a history in this forum of not only ripping this place off, but ripping off other tattooers too.

  18. t I wrote this with a heavy heart, and rewrote his many times trying to be short, but, it is complicated and a difficult subject to just throw at people without some introduction. If you think it is tough to read, try living it. I am here because the internet came into my professional life, in the real world, and maybe I can find resolve or allies in this here, I have the courage to try. Maybe, sharing my story I can help others...

  19. Poorly written article that was barely fact-checked and actually doesn't talk about the real reason the client's tattoo wasn't gone. The article simply says the new laser called picosecond, which is the technology, not the laser, but indicates new technology in 2012 which I believe they meant to say PicoSure, as that is a brand name of a laser sold by Cynosure. At present, there are at least three picosecond capable lasers on the market. The real reason (I'm assuming) the author was able to continue and get her tattoo removed is not due to the picosecond technology but due to the 755nm wavelength the PicoSure operates at. That specific wavelength destroys blue, green and blue-based purple pigments. The only laser on the market that gets close is the Quanta Q+C at 694nm, but it's not a picosecond laser and the picosecond technology doesn't play into why it's not as effective. Also, the mention of money is also slightly skewed too. The author started tattoo removal seven years ago, when the technology wasn't being used as much (demand wasn't where it is now) so few clinics bought machines because the ROI was so terrible on them. The fact she paid $400 / treatment for what appears to be something the size of a quarter seems more of a rip to me.

  21. I really don't know what made me do the first one tbh. I think it was more of an impulse thing. Plus I knew it wasn't going to be too bad since the artist is so light handed.

    Hello

Hi Charles, welcome to LST. Could you point us to a website or any online reference that shows your tattoo work other than what you have posted in our gallery? Tattooing for 20 years you should have a lot of work to show us, and we'd love to see it.

    Upcoming Tattoos

The first (I believe) annual Pacific Northwest Tattoo Expo is being held at a casino just 30 min. from where I recently moved to, Lincoln City Oregon. I'm hoping to pick up a little arrow-head or maybe a sugar skull from Linus O'Malley, Henry Rodriguez, BD Feldman, or one of those guys. Should be a good time.

Having recently divorced (from Comcast TV), we are now using Kodi and Sling for a lot of TV viewing. So, I found Spike on it and watched last night, but went to bed (hey, I'm old and still working) during the latest episode. Two years of not watching and I have to say that the tattoo quality has gone down a lot! That one pinup of the guy's wife (the girl with the bob) was awful. Thought the cartoonish pinup of the curvy lady was flattering and pretty good, though.

  28. Nice tattoo! I experienced similar peeling/fading on one of my tattoos, it wasn't quite as bad, but it still looked really faded. Two weeks later, the color's returned and it looks fine. I'm no expert but it might just be part of the healing process. Worst case scenario you might need a touch-up, but I doubt it. You should ask your artist though. For now just try to relax, let it heal and hope for the best. Good luck and I hope everything works out.

    Sleeves!

Here are crappy pics of my left arm. Through a mirror no less. Jason Scott did all the background work and left the perfect amount of negative space in my opinion. All the little blue flowers and vine swirl stuff was done by him. I love what he did.

  34. Spent a long weekend on a trip down to The Bourbon Trail in Kentucky. About 7 years ago we signed up to be Maker's Mark Ambassadors - costs nothing and they send you a present each year at Christmas. They also put your name on a barrel plate and, when the barrel matures - 6 to 7 years later - you get invited to the distillery for a free tour, tasting and you can buy bottles from your batch. They put a special label on the bottle(s) and you get to hand-dip it in the traditional red wax and seal it with the Ambassador's seal. It was a blast - and we hit several other distilleries and great restaurants along the way. The weather was warm and, since we took the Z3, we enjoyed some top-down days. Here are our bottles and Lynn watching while I dipped mine. And Lynn dipping her bottle.

I knew about some of this stuff because Richard Stell told me a lot about the show and its process. He railed on Clint for a crazy long time about his shitty American traditional, and he said they only showed a tiny bit of it. Made me laugh. Arguing with Richard Stell about American Traditional means you are stupid or an asshole. Probably both. I always liked Kruseman. Glad to hear he's nice and genuine. I thought Duffy was great on the recent Redemption episode. She was graceful in the face of a truly crazy pair of bitches.

  42. This - all this... Honestly watching the number of long-time valuable posters (many of whom were artists) disappear I'm guessing is for the same reason I rarely post - I'm tired of the snark. if it's lame ignore it and let the post sink. I'm here to talk good tattoos - not torture those with bad ones.

  43. I think there is a middle ground - i dont know if I come off snarky or sarcastic or what sometimes - i just try to be honest - sometimes honesty isnt what people want - there are def those threads where the OP is fishing for the validation of their idea - no matter how ridiculous - I would rather LST be but a ghost town then become a place where folks are high fiving over upside down blown out tattastrophes - just so they dont hurt each others feelings i'm rambling - but anyway - i hope the good folks here keep coming back and talking tattoos and posting their tattoos - we've had some good new members too
