    Small tattoo ideas?

IMO i think you should lay off getting tattooed for a bit - your other tattoos - aren't even healed yet. honestly, adding a load of fillers is not the best thing to do right now. but when you do fill the gaps (one day) in your current pieces, I think a snake winding through would be rad - snakes are great for filling awkward gaps.

  5. Hi Charles, hope you're doing well. I notice that you are new to this forum and are quite keen in posting. I'm not too sure what you're working towards though. Several of your new threads seem to have a commercial vibe to them, are you hoping to sell us something? If so we have a forum group for that, but I believe you are supposed to try to keep those posts to a minimum. You seem to be really into tattoos, so perhaps you should look around and contribute to some of the ongoing or older discussions, enlighten us with some opinions and knowledge. Maybe cool it off on these drawing books and colouring books by tattooers for tattooers messages, we get it. cheers, Sam

  9. Thank you for that Sam, I appreciate your input, I have spent the last few months researching, designing and publishing Reference books for Tattooers, I am quite current on the subject and if it is coming through, I am not surprised (it is part of me). I am taking a little break from that and deciding to participate in this forum, I think that perspective can be an asset to the group. As you can see by my posts, I am adding advice as I think it can be an addition to the threads, not just for the sake of posting. It is a holiday weekend here, so I have some time to post right now. Since you are posting publicly and not PMing me I must reply publicly. Please, everyone, know my intentions are sincere and I look forward to a long relationship with this forum's virtual inhabitants.

  10. After Thursday afternoon's touch-up work primarily on the red and blue areas on my eagle/flag, I went from nothing to substantial peeling between yesterday morning and last evening. Just some mild itching along with the peeling. Life is good.

    Small tattoo ideas?

I would definitely agree that you should wait. First, let the 5 tattoos that you've gotten in the last 3 or 4 weeks heal. Second, take the time now to think about your long-term concept of what you want it all to look like when you're done. Do you have an idea for a unifying concept (as you did for the last 4)? Are you looking to stick with American Traditional? Are you, perhaps, interested in creating a unified look that might ultimately include sleeves or a back or chest piece? Just placing a random filler tattoo now might ultimately prevent you from a more completed look later and seems rash to me at this point. Given your reactions to the first 5, wait! Plan. Research. Discuss. IMHO, you are just leading yourself down the path of ultimate disappointment.

  13. I dig shooting sporting clays. It's like golf with guns! My hubby is *way* into it. I have a low end Remington 930 12 gauge. He's finding a new stock for me...I need a "junior" sized stock or something. The current one is way too long! @Devious6

    Art imitates life? Thread

@Charles.M I'm pretty sure Margot Robbie doesn't have those real tattoos ,it's just for the movie.I think the only real one she has is a tiny anchor on her ankle. and who cares if other people have similar tattoos anyway ? like was said,it's probably very common. there are probably thousands of women who have that tattoo there.

  16. As a newbie, and an over 60 one at that, I appreciate this. As I looked for my first tattoo, I wanted something that had meaning to me - did the same with my second, too - and ended up falling in love with a wolf head that had tribal lines associated with it. It spoke to me and what I wanted it to say for me - and had it done. This first picture posted on another web site got responses of "dated" "hello 90's" etc. I was initially taken back a bit...and then just let it roll off my back. What I get is about me - not anyone else.

  18. the one in the picture above may or may not be,but did you read the entire article ? and yes,the entire thing could be bullshit, but just the idea of it repulses me. either way,a microchip is a much better tool for ID than any piercing or tattoos on any animal. as far as the "ID" thing goes,my dog is "chipped",I saw the procedure and it was like getting a vaccination ,I certainly would never consider piercing or tattooing an innocent animal.

  19. No competent artist is going to try and abandon their style just to try and reproduce your style instead. I made this very same mistake back in the '70s and '80s. Now they are all lasered.

  21. A man who is his own lawyer has a fool for a client. If you want a tattoo, go to a TATTOO artist to have an original piece created. I don't call a doctor when my toilet is backed up and I don't go to a plumber to have a will drawn up. You may be an artist, but you aren't a TATTOO artist.

  22. Ok so I caved and took a photo - crappy cell phone because I tried to get a close up and with an iPhone 6S Plus it's huge and hard to steady in my hand. But, you get the idea. Even though it's still healing I am so psyched at how it turned out.

  23. Had the touch-up work done on my eagle/flag on Thursday - figured I'd let it heal before I post a final pic. I'm hoping that my body doesn't eat the red and blue ink this time. My artist packed it in pretty well. So far, so good. He it one of the lines that seemed to fade a bit as well as a little black here and there - love that he takes so much pride in making it the best he can. I know he likes this one a lot - and so do I.

  24. size XL or size S ... if you need to squint to figure out what the tattoo is, the tattoo is shit. micro tatts still need to be readable.

  25. @sister123 yeah to a certain degree i agree - i mean whatever floats your boat right - i just say personally i dont like microscipt tattoos - just me personally - and i will say i like most tattoos - i guess the thing that moves me towards disliking a tattoo is when the readability becomes an issue - which it definitely does when it comes to microscript pieces

  26. Getting a tattooer to design your tattoo is the first step, non-tattooers have the wrong skill set in laying out a design that is meant to fit on a three-dimensional human body, wrapping around it, in a purposeful way. Also, a tattooer will know what detail and lack thereof will look best on the skin (now and later) at the size you want it, the tattooer filter, is step number one! If you skip that step you end up going back anyway so why waste time?

  27. Update: Redness and swelling all gone now (started improving last night, 48 hours after) and I emailed my artist, who assured me that this can happen in the upper inner arm, especially after having been worked on for so long. Now the tattoo is healing normally under my trusty layer of Tegaderm (that has been on the whole time, since a few hours after getting it done) and we're back to what I'm used to. My poor boss (a surgeon - we see so much MRSA and other difficult infections) was CERTAIN I had a terrible infection and was terrified for me yesterday, insisting I start antibiotics, but I reassured him, and now he can see it is fine. Cool thing is he's getting an education about healing tattoos from me, since he has zero understanding about any of it, lol.

  28. This - all this... Honestly watching the number of long-time valuable posters (many of whom were artists) disappear I'm guessing is for the same reason I rarely post - I'm tired of the snark. if it's lame ignore it and let the post sink. I'm here to talk good tattoos - not torture those with bad ones.

  32. I think there is a middle ground - i dont know if I come off snarky or sarcastic or what sometimes - i just try to be honest - sometimes honesty isnt what people want - there are def those threads where the OP is fishing for the validation of their idea - no matter how ridiculous - I would rather LST be but a ghost town then become a place where folks are high fiving over upside down blown out tattastrophes - just so they dont hurt each others feelings i'm rambling - but anyway - i hope the good folks here keep coming back and talking tattoos and posting their tattoos - we've had some good new members too
