  1. So I wasn't expecting another large scale piece. But Steve Byrne loved my basic idea, and I DID specifically tell him, apparently, quote "go nuts". I am a wreck this morning kids. Link to video:

Based on guidance from the wise folks here, I deleted the text from my next piece. I'm thankful for the wisdom.

  12. Update: Aug 31. Scott Ellis is finally back in the US, so we put in five more hours dropping color into the dragon. I am so relieved to have the ditch of my arm done! That was probably the worst part.

If you really want that quote I'd suggest embedding it in a stylized banner of some kind so it's not just standing words. Or, you could just get a dragon.

  16. See that's the thing - I originally asked for an Oni mask and to include daffodils as a symbol of my nation - which is not too bizarre as it represents respect in Japan. The guy said he would rather do a skull of some sort and it went from there.... it was probably a mistake on my behalf for not just going to the artist I wanted the tattoo done by. The reason it was free because there was a delay in the design getting to me!

i went from doing my best not to book anything since my last appointment on February 1st. Welp, Mark Mahoney is coming to Jersey and I couldn't pass that up. Also, I inquired for a 2nd tattoo with Garver and was proposed to take over a possible cancellation. All within 10 days, so much for having no more debt lol. /positive rant

Not making a very strong case for yourself on here, friendo. As for the tattoo, personally, I think words are lame. Pictures are symbols and they speak to people. Adding a "meaningful" quote to it just sucks all the mystery and flavour out from it. Its like getting a tattoo of a sick dragon and stamping a big "LUCKY" ontop of it. Also, every person I know who has gotten "kid font" tattoos or "my child's hand writting" tattoos have regretted it, and it just looks awful. The tattoo design itself should never take back seat to the "meaning". Keep that in mind. And dont get it upside down.

  19. if I can,and it wasn't drawn directly me,I always ask for the original art and stencil and I ask them to sign the art,Alycia did for me. :) I have gotten the art from several artists in the past. I like to frame them for my office.

  23. In six days, I'm going back for the next stage in this sleeve. Has anyone had their linework done and grown attached to it? Don't get me wrong - I'm eager for the next stage... but I've grown fond of my linework and in a weird way am kinda gonna miss it.

  24. I got this Baphomet head from Tim Lehi last month. Why? Easily my favorite tattooist, and I think he understands what I am going for. He has tattooed me a few times and always gives me suitable tattoos for me, like he knows me, ha.
