Traditional enough for tattooing. If you want top notch work in a traditional style look no further than Blackheart tattoo! You cannot go wrong there!

  7. Totally love the Cash piece, @oboogie! I'm team tegaderm/saniderm as well. One week later, mild flaking and no itching for this girl. One of my pieces didn't even flake/peel/nothing. Score!

  8. Look into it! My skin is difficult to heal, and it works a treat on me. My Amy Winehouse healed perfectly with it. My artist Josh is thrilled to have found something that works on me. Until recently, he couldn't use blue ink of any kind because my skin freaked the fuck out and even became infected once.

  11. Pagoda was good... Peony by Rubendall, fall botanicals by Grez, Sailor Jerry swallows by Scott and filler peacock feather by Virginia Elwood. Sorry that the color saturations are all over the place (the peony and feather look pretty normal). Butt tattoos hurt!!

  12. Hi, I'm absolutely desperate to learn more about the stories and reference behind Japanese tattooing. I'm obviously interested in picture books, but more than that I'd like to learn the tales so I can better understand the imagery. If anyone has any recommendations (books or websites) if be grateful. I've tried searching with no luck. Thanks in advance.

  13. @oboogie - Totally awesome!! Wonderful work on both. Maybe I should look more into doing a Saniderm heal for my next on. Hhhmmmm??...

  14. Not bad! I had another one touched up, too, and they are both in Saniderm. I love this kind of low maintenance healing. Hahaha.

  15. I lived in SF for 3 years but now live in LA. For sessions I typically take the 1st flight to SF and take the last flight out. Although this time I spent the night figuring I'd be exhausted afterwards. 2 1/2 years may sound long but since you're getting tattooed by the likes of Rubendall and Henning in the meantime, time may pass pretty quickly. BTW, keep an eye out. "Bayareatattooconvention" IG page just announced someone can win a monmoncat tattoo. They will be announcing details soon.

    Upcoming Tattoos

Psyched!!! Talked with my artist today - he's going to book me for September 10th. This one will...hopefully... be my 9/11 catharsis. 15th anniversary and the memories crowd back in about now... Really looking forward to this one!!

  23. I'm going, so is my husband. Not going to get tattooed though - I filled my quota for the year back in January, and I'm trying to save $ to go back to school, so there's that too... It's a great excuse to finally get up to Montreal, and to hang with some great people.

Oh, I totally get it. I'd wanted a lot of tattoos from a pretty young age so my first one went from wrist to elbow. Good on you for taking the plunge!
