Should i find a new artist?

5 weeks is not even healed yet,I think you are looking at it too closely ! relax, let it heal for a few more months, and possibly see if it might need a minor touch-up, otherwise, enjoy it, IMO it looks pretty good.

  2. you are definetly looking at it too closely which i know i do too sometimes with a new tattoo especially when its located so prominetly on the forearm my first impression was that i liked the tattoo i know you have identified some areas you are concerned with areas where you believe some ink might have dropped out or possibly not been tattooed completely first i would say dont look so close the tattoo has a nice impact bold readable impact second give it a little more healing time especially with a forearm piece for me they take awhile to completely heal third and most importantly remember - its a tattoo - on skin it will never be perfect but also - it doesnt need to be perfect to be awesome as for the additional work and wether or not to choose another artist thats up to you maybe discussin your concerns with the artist who did this piece would be a good course of action some folks might advocate inquiring about touching about those areas you are concerned about it i'm not a big fan of that idea typically but if more work is being done on this piece by the same artist they might also been considering this aspect moving forward anyway - keep us updated and welcome

  3. I think it looks good, too! Mine has a lot of heavy black, too, and it took more than a month before I could really begin to gage the consistency of the fill. And, as good as my artists did, there were still a few areas he wanted to touch up. Relax and let it heal as @Dan says.

  5. I would also comment that we might be thankful for them raising us to not have the same hangups that they were given.

    Canadians, eh?

My brother and I rode our motorcycles from DC to Alaska and back a few weeks ago. We spent a chunk of the time riding across Canada. First of all, the Canadian people are really friendly. I love America, but I'm jealous of that. Second, there wasn't a day that went by that at least one person didn't come up and talk to me about my tattoos. Usually multiple times a day, when we stopped for gas or something to eat. I think my brother (inkless) was starting to get tired of it! Lots of nice people, but I didn't see many people with a lot of tattoos up there, even the people that came up to talk to me. Usually a small tattoo or two. A beautiful country, I encourage everyone to go.

  8. SUPER nice tattoo! it is very common to need touch ups on black work. You can't tell at 5 weeks though and based on what I'm seeing any touch ups (if you end up needing any) will be very minimal. You did nothing wrong. well you are doing one thing wrong and we are all guilty of it from time to time. Stop over analyzing everything. It's a great tattoo and is still healing. Ive had areas of black that looked light while healing and then after it was healed it looked great. Congratulations on your tattoo. It's a great one! Get more!!!!! The more you get the less over analytical you'll become rob i do NOT think you should go to another artist. Whoever did this is good and gave you a great tattoo. Don't have it touched up by another artist. If you get more tattoos then definitely feel free to branch out to different artists as we all do, but there is nothing wrong with the tattooer that gave this to you and any touch ups should be done by them.

  10. I can't offer suggestions of where to go since I know nothing about Spain, but I would suggest as far as subject matter, don't get anything related to your dad's health problems. No one (including him) wants to be reminded of that all the time. There's more to him than his condition. Find a positive way to spin it: maybe you want to say that he's brave or strong, in which case a ferocious animal might be the way to go. Maybe you have some fond memories of your dad that could be showcased by something beautiful and delicate like a flower. Maybe you could get an image of something that reminds you of your dad: did he carry a pocket knife, have a favorite hobby, go on family vacations, etc? Think of the good times and stuff that reminds you of him and something will come to you.

  11. Tell her that you love her and hug her when you can. Oh, and maybe not post any more photos. :) Side note: None of my family approves of my ink. When my brother gets mad at me he calls me a "tattooed white trash whore". I, too, have multiple degrees and a great job. My strategy is to kill them with kindness. You most likely can't/won't change her mind but don't let that impact you being an awesome, loving daughter.

  13. @Morrigan its all good - only your mother has any control over her emotional state and perspectives - I'm 45 and my father doesnt like my tattoos - though he wont say as much to me - you gotta live your life and do what works for you - partly i think there is a generational issue at play - if it was me - i'd be straight forward - 'mom i love you and you dont have to love my tattoos but your frustrations with what i do with body wont have any influence on what i will continue to do with my body' - end of story
