Got this insanely awesome cat head on July 8th at Congress St Tattoo in Portsmouth. Man I love it so much. Was such a great day (and night)!!!! I love Chad. He is the greatest and I'm always bummed when he leaves, but luckily for those of us in NH, he visits quite often. Cant wait to see him and Jason Scott in Montreal.8 points

I think for most people this won't look like much has been done, but oh well! All of the black/shading, with the exception of some clouds we're going to add, is now done. All of the lining, too. We had to line two more dragon feet and I thought I was going to die. If I never see another liner that size again, it'll be too soon! So now we get to start color after this, and I can't wait. Greg Whitehead and all that.6 points -
I don't get it. Go into any shop and pretty much any tattooer worth getting tattooed by is going to have a sketchbook or binder full of ideas they'd love to tattoo. Likewise, pretty much any tattooer worth getting tattooed by is going to continually try to push their boundaries and try to improve and be a better tattooer with each tattoo they do. I know that there's been plenty of experimentation with techniques and materials on my skin, because that's a normal day-to-day part of tattooing and getting tattooed. If you want to encourage artists walk into a good shop with money in hand. This just sounds like a bunch of pretentious horseshit. Good luck.5 points

It's a noble idea, but I fear you will be prey for those who can't develop their ideas the conventional way - and can't because they are not capable to. You showing a potential artist that their idea doesn't have merit is going to be a very permanent display of a very fleeting failure.4 points

So good! Dane is such a funny guy. When i was getting tattooed by Giacomo, he kept looking over his shoulder and telling him how much he fucked up and how much im going to regret the tattoo he was doing on me haha. Needles to say the tattoo turned out perfect ;)3 points

Tegaderm/Saniderm/Tatuderm healing process
Rob I and one other reacted to Hospitelli for a topic
After having a tough time healing my ribs I decided to give 3M tegaderm a try for the final session on them. I removed the first bandage after about 4 hours then proceeded to clean the area with some soap and warm water. I slept overnight airing it out and then put on the tegaderm in the morning using two pieces, rounding the corners and overlapping them just a tad. I had it on for close to three days and probably would of went another day but I started to smell funky which worried me a little. Once I realized the funk was coming from the tegaderm that's when I decided to take it off. I cleaned the tattoo once again with soap/ water and then went on to apply a minimal amount of lotion once or twice a day. To my surprise only a few spots flaked on me and I had no scabbing. For the most part I completely skipped the flaking phase and had some shiny new skin with close to zero itching. Overall, I was definitely impressed and will give it another try for the next tattoo.2 points -

My family adopted a beagle named Buddy a few years ago. He's a lazy old man, but he guards the house ferociously from mailmen, UPS delivery men, and the like. The first picture is him at his guard post, the back of the couch. From which, he keeps watch over the neighborhood. The second picture is a rare (ahem) nap break.2 points -

Its so true, he is so gentle with elderly people (my grandma etc) but whenever i see him he just wants to play fight! Our tug of war record is 16 minutes! just for the record, i won in the end. Molly looks to be a super happy dog! How have the first couple of days been? Heres another one from the day she picked him up:2 points -

I finally had my rib piece finished after 3 years. It feels good to be able to start on new tattoos. Done by Luke Kehoe (except the ribbon, just touched up by him). I didn't want to cover the ribbon, so we added things around it.2 points -

@sophistre totally crushing it. Friday I went up to King's Ave and finished my tiger/rose morph on my knee. Right now it's impossible to get a good picture of, but I'll try to get one up soon. Also, when I was up in May, Grez showed me a ton of originals he has. He showed me this sheet of roses that Malone did for him, and he seemed bummed that he'd never done anything off of it. So I told him if we had time after he finished my knee, he could gladly give me one. So after he wrapped me up, he popped a quick little rose into a gap between the top of my sleeve and the swallow on my chest. Fits perfectly, and he seemed thrilled to do it. It's a tiny little tattoo, but I'm really thrilled with it. I may not post that publicly, but if anyone wants to see either of them, hit me up on IG (@andrew.f.white).2 points -

I got a little Richard Stell pink elephant when I was at Pair-O-Dice on the 4th. Had fun shooting the shit with Richard and Jen while Jen tattooed me. Elephant is very mangy currently. I shall post a photo when he has healed! Meanwhile, enjoy this photo of me with Richard. :-)2 points -
Been a while since I have been on the forum... If anyone is in Brooklyn between now and August 1, check out the Jondix/David D'Andrea show at the Three Kings Gallery on Manhattan Avenue (Greenpoint). They did a great job pairing those two up, and I got to meet Jondix (I did not manage to play it cool, c'est la vie). The opening last night was fun. They have t-shirts, prints and (of course) the art all available. Everything is very reasonably priced.1 point

@Ross Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about the difficulty you are having in regards to healing your new tattoo. In my experience, I have never taken that long to heal any aspect of a tattoo that I have gotten but that's just me. The best thing you can do and what I recommend is to go back to the artist that did the work and show him to get his professional opinion on it.1 point -

@Ross well you're 3 months post tattoo so that seems quite a long time for the peeling to be still occuring - as for what i take away from the pic i would say it looks like a bit of scarring in that linework - thats just my opinion from looking at a picture on the internet - and like i said - not the end of the world - i have various areas of scarring in my tattoos as well - some other folks might be able to weigh in with their thoughts as well - you're still looking to get some shading and color in this piece correct?1 point -

Thankyou. I've tried putting this into text haha. Back in February I started the outlining on my sleeve, initially on the forearm. Everything went well and seemed fine, I was applying bepanthen ointment every 3-4 hours. On the second appointment two weeks later, my artist continues the outlining on the inside of my forearm and the elbow. Since then it has taken an age to heal and still in the healing process. It's still a little swollen and flaky and still itching like mad. I read it could be a histamine over reaction and applied antihistamine cream and taken antihistamine tablets, taken vitamins, cod liver oil etc. There's no sign of infection, just nothing seems to be helping very much. I've had tattoos before in different places on my back and upper arms and they've all healed with no problems and in a matter of days. Thing is...my elbow, that was tattooed at the same time has healed perfectly well in less than a week! What else can I try on my forearm?? Many thanks.1 point

Cool concept but I do echo the concern of the community. I think primarily because so many people have tattoo's that they hate and the end result is that it impacts their lives in a negative way. You say that you've been always been involved in the body modification community. Tell me more...1 point -
If you want to attract scratchers and weirdos this is the right way to go about it. We're all trying to seek out quality work from decent artists because there are so many people that suck out there! please don't invite them onto your body. Seek out a decent open minded artist who'll appreciate your approach. There are so many amazing artists who would love the chance to work on adventurous projects with a near blank canvas.1 point

When we saw her photos online (the 3 I posted), she reminded us of our Black Mouth Cur, "Ziggy". You can see her sweetness and intelligence. When we saw her in her pin, she was ferocious, barking a mean bark and a bit scary. We checked out a few other dogs but came back to her and asked the guy to see her outside, just to be sure. She lit up and became really sweet as soon as she was leashed. Outside, she ran and bounded, all happy like, then came up and snuggled with me. Bam! Instant bond. Many dogs in shelters show their true selves once outside and free.1 point

Fire started next door as an accident and spread through a few buildings. It was a four alarm fire. Someone lost their kitty but no one else was hurt - from what I've ready their machines and some of the art survived. No news on where everyone is setting up in the meantime. ____ Added on to say we talked to Franz today and most of the machines, books and art were salvageable and they've found a new location and will be re-opening in a few weeks - all around good news.1 point -
