  1. I think for most people this won't look like much has been done, but oh well! All of the black/shading, with the exception of some clouds we're going to add, is now done. All of the lining, too. We had to line two more dragon feet and I thought I was going to die. If I never see another liner that size again, it'll be too soon! So now we get to start color after this, and I can't wait. Greg Whitehead and all that.

    Snakes snakes snakes

I was just reading this thread and realized that I don't think I've ever put a picture of my little snake on here. It is very different from the rest of what's on this thread, but I love how it sits on my arm. Ron Wells did it a year ago. Both tattoos I have from him feature a lot of solid black and are sort of stealth tribal. Sorry about the bathroom photo.

  3. Got this insanely awesome cat head on July 8th at Congress St Tattoo in Portsmouth. Man I love it so much. Was such a great day (and night)!!!! I love Chad. He is the greatest and I'm always bummed when he leaves, but luckily for those of us in NH, he visits quite often. Cant wait to see him and Jason Scott in Montreal.

  6. @sophistre totally crushing it. Friday I went up to King's Ave and finished my tiger/rose morph on my knee. Right now it's impossible to get a good picture of, but I'll try to get one up soon. Also, when I was up in May, Grez showed me a ton of originals he has. He showed me this sheet of roses that Malone did for him, and he seemed bummed that he'd never done anything off of it. So I told him if we had time after he finished my knee, he could gladly give me one. So after he wrapped me up, he popped a quick little rose into a gap between the top of my sleeve and the swallow on my chest. Fits perfectly, and he seemed thrilled to do it. It's a tiny little tattoo, but I'm really thrilled with it. I may not post that publicly, but if anyone wants to see either of them, hit me up on IG (@andrew.f.white).

Cool concept but I do echo the concern of the community. I think primarily because so many people have tattoo's that they hate and the end result is that it impacts their lives in a negative way. You say that you've been always been involved in the body modification community. Tell me more...

You can go to an established artist (or an apprentice who works with an established tattooer) and pay them for this. Though.

If you want to attract scratchers and weirdos this is the right way to go about it. We're all trying to seek out quality work from decent artists because there are so many people that suck out there! please don't invite them onto your body. Seek out a decent open minded artist who'll appreciate your approach. There are so many amazing artists who would love the chance to work on adventurous projects with a near blank canvas.

  22. I got a little Richard Stell pink elephant when I was at Pair-O-Dice on the 4th. Had fun shooting the shit with Richard and Jen while Jen tattooed me. Elephant is very mangy currently. I shall post a photo when he has healed! Meanwhile, enjoy this photo of me with Richard. :-)

When we saw her photos online (the 3 I posted), she reminded us of our Black Mouth Cur, "Ziggy". You can see her sweetness and intelligence. When we saw her in her pin, she was ferocious, barking a mean bark and a bit scary. We checked out a few other dogs but came back to her and asked the guy to see her outside, just to be sure. She lit up and became really sweet as soon as she was leashed. Outside, she ran and bounded, all happy like, then came up and snuggled with me. Bam! Instant bond. Many dogs in shelters show their true selves once outside and free.

  28. resisted the urge to get tattooed this weekend at the Walker Stalker Con that my daughter and I attended in central jersey - the tattooers that were there seemed quite busy most of the time - but we were pretty busy meeting the cast, attending panels, etc - was an awesome time for both of us - you can see the many pics on my IG

  30. I think @Graemeraises a good point with timing and the ability to give out three votes (I like the 5, 3, 1 pt votes). Like @marley missionsaid, sometimes you vote like crazy and essentially it's not voting. I think the "large scale" vs. "one shot" idea is a good one, too.

@polliwog sounds great! I'll hit you up with my cell# as we get closer - as of now I am probably doing the quick turn around back to jersey that evening - my appt is a 3-5 spot - but always got time for a beer - but I am toying with alternate plans that have me staying in Boston overnight - was actually thinking about going to Rhode Island and seeing about setting up something at Torchbearer for the following day - I don't think the funds will accomodate pursuing that though at this time

  32. I'm going, so is my husband. Not going to get tattooed though - I filled my quota for the year back in January, and I'm trying to save $ to go back to school, so there's that too... It's a great excuse to finally get up to Montreal, and to hang with some great people.

  33. In my work I treat patients with MRSA and it is everywhere. You can pick it up anywhere in the community now, not just hospitals and nursing homes. For most of us, hand washing and general common sense, keeping wounds covered, etc. will be enough, but if your a drug addict or otherwise have a compromised immune system you can get it easily

    I hate summer :(

I am in the camp of no AC and no forced air heating, but that's what we've got now. I spent my early adulthood in S. Florida and I had no AC in my house or car for 10 years, and didn't find I needed it, but I lived a few blocks from the ocean and the breeze was always there. I didn't have AC growing up in Virginia and DID want it, lol. If I could get my husband on board I'd ditch the AC/heat pump, but he grew up in Phoenix and feels like he has never "dried out" since living in the humid swamp that is Virginia with me, and is addicted to AC. The summers are WAY worse up here than they ever were in S. Florida. Hint: S. Florida is a ghost town in the summer and the weather is much better than it is up north, so take your vacations there, folks. Humidity about 60%, temps around 90 during the day, a good storm blows through late afternoon and cools things right down, no mosquitoes - AHHHHHHH. Plus it is cheap and no tourists getting in your way. Sign me up.

  36. This usually shows up for me with strangers asking where I get tattooed, and saying 'your tattoos are really different!' But since they're not very different from other good tattoos, I can only assume this means that most of what they see is not good.

  37. Wow, absolutely love that tiger, so beautiful! I have kind of a red kitty on my thigh as well, in a way similar but then totally different (pic is quite swollen, haven't quite managed to take a healed pic yet, sorry). By Alix Ge, done at the London Convention in September this year.

    I hate summer :(

I adore summer. I grew up in Texas and for a large part of my career worked outside. For a ginger, I do the heat very well. Now that I live in Pittsburgh, I cherish every day over 80 degrees! I'd so rather be hot than cold. I guess that I should add that even during the summer I hit the steam room three times a week.

  45. My appointment for Koeplinger's 50 state tour finally came! I cannot say enough good things about Chad and my experience. He was open to my ideas and excited to make some changes to his original drawing to give me exactly what I wanted. We talked about all sorts of things (from our travels in the Middle East to vintage TV shows) and time just flew by. And he is ridiculously fast!! This 8x10" piece on my thigh took 1 1/2 hours from stencil to finish. I would definitely get another tattoo from him and will be watching his schedule to see when he is next near me. Wildcat

  46. The Army uses what are called "fixed call signs" for radio communication. Each unit had a designator - many times most units of a larger unit will have designators that start with the same letter. For example, the fixed call sign for 1st Infantry Division is Danger. I commanded a battalion within that Division, the 101st Military Intelligence Battalion and our fixed call sign was Devious. They then use numerical designators to identify specific individuals within each unit - the commander of a unit is identified by the number 6. So, when I made a radio call, I identified myself as Devious 6. Simple, right?
