  1. Todd Noble did a Percy Waters girl for me and I took a really bad photo of it (sigh). I love it, though.

  5. I think we might have a different definition of collecting. I don't think collecting has to be a competitive event, even within yourself. "Upgrading" insinuates 1 piece of art might be better than another - whereas I "collect" what I like, regardless of whether or not it's local or distant, 1 style or another, big name or novice.

    I hate summer :(

I love the heat and humidity. Nothing suits me more than hiking up and down city streets in 90 degree weather. I like A/C at home, but can live without it. I'm also sympathetic to everyone who doesn't like it, and as @oboogie pointed out it can be very dangerous for some. On the hottest days we used to check in on our elderly friends and relatives. @Graeme is right too about the coldest days up here. There are only a few that are truly brutal, and if you are well-dressed for it, it can be quite a nice experience.

  10. @marley mission Thanks! Chelsea Kotzur at True Blue in ATX. She stays really low key, but is really an incredible painter, in my opinion. She really got me comfortable with serious tattooing and I love love love her lady heads. So I asked her if she would do a big piece on me. I gave her the elements and let her go nuts. Means a lot more to me than if it was from a big name I was getting as a collector that I didn't have a relationship with. https://www.instagram.com/chelseakotzurtattoo/

  11. Little late here. Got this one waaayyyy back in November of 2015 from Chad Koeplinger while he was at Tattoo Paradise in DC. Tough to get a good pic because of the way it wraps, but you get the idea.

  13. @marley mission he is in Massachusetts 3 weeks per month and at Delaware for 1 week, I believe. He does still have a lot of availability in MA, so if you come up here I'm happy to meet you after. That may be a disincentive, though. Double your pleasure and hit upThe Torchbearer in RI.

    Tattoo Advice?

@Happynuff3, hey there! I have all kind of styles all over my body. I have two half sleeves that I've tried to keep sort of consistent in theme, but otherwise, I get what I like and just find the best place for it. I think that will look great on you. Go for it.

    Tattoo Advice?

Depends on what you mean by high movement areas. Here's my elbow, done about three and a half years ago which isn't long enough to tell you much but it's still completely solid. On that arm the parts around my elbow and ditch are simple compared to the rest of the tattoo which is pretty intricate so it should age well. I don't think hip should be too bad as far as movement goes.

    "Tattoo Collector" ?????

My wife is getting a tattoo on Monday when Chad Koeplinger is in town. The tattoo I got last week opened up some new spots that need tattoos. I have several styles from several artists in different cities. I appreciate the history. I guess you have convinced me, I'm a collector.

  20. 35 years celebrated yesterday! Judy has no ink, and was a little surprised when, at 62, I started. She now actually likes a few of them (although I doubt she would ever get one or become a tattoo "fan"), and is growing to like all but the one that I am getting lasered to be corrected. For the same reason that I hate it - too dark and too poorly done. I will then have it redone properly and we will both love it!

  21. I think that's the most fun way to get a tattoo. I'm getting tattooed by him on July 8th and have zero clue at the moment. Planning on picking something out of his book of drawings. @Bmore @Synesthesia I think you are worried over litterally nothing. Your tattoo looks great.

  22. I'd love to collect watches. Way too pricey for me, though. Instead, I've been collecting fountain pens (new and antique) for the last few years. I must have a thing for sharp instruments and ink.

    Tattoo Advice?

They would be on two very different parts of your body so clashing isn't really an issue. When I see tattoos on real people I often see a lot of different styles of tattoo sitting together. I think it looks cool, personally. I'd also suggest going bolder because I prefer bold tattoos and they are going to last a lot longer and age a lot better than delicate tattoos, but that has nothing to do with clashing styles. Get the tattoos that make you excited about tattoos.

  24. I got this little one shot eagle yesterday at the Quebec City convention from Trevor McStay. It wraps a lot because it takes up most of my thigh so here are a couple of pictures.

    Tattoo Blowout

The longer I've had a tattoo and the more I'm focused on the next one the less I care about small imperfections. If anything they can along with fading be beautiful like a well worn pair of jeans. Tattoos are hand made. That's why I like 'em. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  27. Here are the end results of my trip to Denver. My wife got some balloons and I got a praying mantis. Both by Destroy Troy at Til Death. Great shop and fun artist. Also, The Cure was fantastic, the beer was cold and I used Saniderm for the first time.

    I hate summer :(

If you have proper winter gear, bone-chilling cold is okay. Those -40 days are brutal, sure, but there aren't many of them in a year. They can be endured. Whereas with the heat there's only so much you can take off before you start getting into reverse Hellraiser territory.

    Latest tattoo lowdown.....

Thank you!! So, as I have mentioned before, Junii usually has some inspiration right before the tattoo and our plans change a bit - now it looks like we're going back to two snakes, no hannya (maybe). And the collab? Oh, just Junii, Shad, and EVERYONE IN DIAMOND CLUB, nbd. !!!!! At the beginning of the second day, I was looking at some frog paintings my hosts have around their home and vaguely thinking "what a cool tattoo that would be". Headed to the shop. As soon as I get there Junii says "what do you think about this?" and pulls out some frog stencils she made!! As my mind was wrapping itself around this fun bit of synchronicity, she explained that she wanted to put a meditating frog down at the bottom of my leg, and then add some dreamy clouds working their way up so it appears that everything we see is what the frog is sitting and meditating about - we have a beginning now!! She is going to add a few more frogs, one guy with beads, another one with a coin, maybe another guy. I am so satisfied with how this tattoo is coming along - not just with the quality of the work, but also the completely organic nature of how the tattoo itself is developing. It's really incredible to be part of this experience!! ...searching for more words...I'm just into it, is all. :p I'm booked again in July...we'll see what she comes up with next!!!!! I've attached some action shots and one of me being just clearly insanely happy to be where I am. (Thank you for indulging me). Yes @Lance, best birthday present to self ever. @Zillah the koi looks great!! You are a beast to sit for 7.5 hours - that shit is hard! Congrats and can't wait to see a healed pic.
