Color loss?

It's scar tissue, but honestly I really had to look to see it and even then it's quite hard to spot. I wouldn't bother getting it touched up, especially since its been a while - the new ink will look more noticeable.4 points -
I agree with everyone else. I honestly couldn't figure out what you were talking about until the 3rd or 4th look at it. Doesn't effect the impact of that tattoo at all IMO.4 points

Looks to me like it scabbed up while healing and pulled some of the ink out. It happens, I have tattoos that have bits like that. Honestly, I wouldn't bother getting it touched up. I see what you're talking about but it doesn't compromise the tattoo at all. I'd also think that getting it touched up a couple of years after you got it maybe isn't a great idea but talk with an artist about that.4 points

Thanks, everyone. I'll continue to wear this one the way it is.3 points

It's barely visible, but FWIW I have a couple similar small milky spots in my eagle, in the black shading. The whole thing raises up sometimes when it's hot so I'm guessing it's just scar tissue. It definitely looks different from areas in a different tattoo that scabbed and lost ink. I agree with everyone else that it isn't noticeable in yours.3 points

They would be on two very different parts of your body so clashing isn't really an issue. When I see tattoos on real people I often see a lot of different styles of tattoo sitting together. I think it looks cool, personally. I'd also suggest going bolder because I prefer bold tattoos and they are going to last a lot longer and age a lot better than delicate tattoos, but that has nothing to do with clashing styles. Get the tattoos that make you excited about tattoos.3 points

@marley mission Thanks! Chelsea Kotzur at True Blue in ATX. She stays really low key, but is really an incredible painter, in my opinion. She really got me comfortable with serious tattooing and I love love love her lady heads. So I asked her if she would do a big piece on me. I gave her the elements and let her go nuts. Means a lot more to me than if it was from a big name I was getting as a collector that I didn't have a relationship with. https://www.instagram.com/chelseakotzurtattoo/2 points

Getting my left elbow ditch done next month. Gonna get a rose with the vine coming up on my bicep to fill up a spot that has been bothering me for some time now. Not looking forward to healing an elbow in the hottest month of the year ;) Also a bit nervous since it will be the first tattoo that will be visible when I have rolled up sleeves. Probably gonna get some more small tattoos at the end of july/august as well2 points

"Tattoo Collector" ?????
SStu and one other reacted to AverageJer for a topic
My wife is getting a tattoo on Monday when Chad Koeplinger is in town. The tattoo I got last week opened up some new spots that need tattoos. I have several styles from several artists in different cities. I appreciate the history. I guess you have convinced me, I'm a collector.2 points -
Tattoos age, just like you and your skin. It will never look like the day you got it, it will only get "worse"- or lived in. That being said, it looks like the teeth part is from scarring, but it still looks like a cool tattoo, I'd leave it. I don't think the sun did this. Then I'd basically would have to redo all my tattoos each year cause I spend quite a bit of time outside with no shirt on.2 points

I love the heat and humidity. Nothing suits me more than hiking up and down city streets in 90 degree weather. I like A/C at home, but can live without it. I'm also sympathetic to everyone who doesn't like it, and as @oboogie pointed out it can be very dangerous for some. On the hottest days we used to check in on our elderly friends and relatives. @Graeme is right too about the coldest days up here. There are only a few that are truly brutal, and if you are well-dressed for it, it can be quite a nice experience.1 point

Little late here. Got this one waaayyyy back in November of 2015 from Chad Koeplinger while he was at Tattoo Paradise in DC. Tough to get a good pic because of the way it wraps, but you get the idea.1 point -
I popped into a shop on a whim a couple of weeks ago and got a ghost tattoo. It looks like a cross between an onion and a squid. My wife says it looks like a ghost.1 point

I got this little one shot eagle yesterday at the Quebec City convention from Trevor McStay. It wraps a lot because it takes up most of my thigh so here are a couple of pictures.1 point -

So long as you keep getting tattoos like this: crisp, bold lines, nicely colored inside those lines, little touch of negative space, readable from a distance -- you will be just fine. I'd say the tattoo you have is probably better than 75% of the ones out there.1 point

this is my project for next season (winter) i'm going to tile in some background in and behind the frog...perhaps some overlapping matrix of black and red spider webs. I don't know about the other side (inner thigh), its my last major space for a big tattooo. Something with fire, crazy colours, the weirder the better.1 point

Thinking about tattooing my fat belly. Good/bad idea?
DeloresMelon reacted to wildcat for a topic
I say do it! I'm 45 years old with two kids and definitely don't have my 25-year-old body anymore. I recently finished getting my entire a$$ tattooed, mid back to mid thighs. Stretch marks and cellulite included. It looks so much more awesome than plain stretch marks and cellulite :) Wildcat1 point -
If you go big and bold it's going to look fucking rad. Tattooed flesh looks better than non-tattooed flesh. Fat doesn't figure into it at all.1 point
