Little late here. Got this one waaayyyy back in November of 2015 from Chad Koeplinger while he was at Tattoo Paradise in DC. Tough to get a good pic because of the way it wraps, but you get the idea.9 points -

I've been with my guy for 26 years - over half of my life. I was always crystal clear about my desire to be tattooed. My husband doesn't have tattoo's nor will he ever. But let me just say this...my tattoo's are proving to be better than Viagra. Huzzah!5 points -
35 years celebrated yesterday! Judy has no ink, and was a little surprised when, at 62, I started. She now actually likes a few of them (although I doubt she would ever get one or become a tattoo "fan"), and is growing to like all but the one that I am getting lasered to be corrected. For the same reason that I hate it - too dark and too poorly done. I will then have it redone properly and we will both love it!4 points

I think that's the most fun way to get a tattoo. I'm getting tattooed by him on July 8th and have zero clue at the moment. Planning on picking something out of his book of drawings. @Bmore @Synesthesia I think you are worried over litterally nothing. Your tattoo looks great.4 points

I picked up this little heart and dagger at a local shop's flash event. Didn't realize until I got home that the top of the handle is jacked up. I think it'll be an easy fix so I'll just swing by one afternoon after it's healed and ask him to fix up the diamond-y part. Don't really blame the guy considering how insanely busy the shop was that day. Other than the handle, I love it, and it helps fill in an annoying gap nicely. EDIT: Silly me, I forgot to give credit. Atom Lenhart at Golden Ages in Lancaster, PA did this. I've been tattooed by two guys in that shop now and will probably get a second from Atom (I have an idea he would be awesome at) and will probably get stuff from the other two guys too.3 points -

I got this little one shot eagle yesterday at the Quebec City convention from Trevor McStay. It wraps a lot because it takes up most of my thigh so here are a couple of pictures.3 points -

I've always found tattoos attractive and it was one of the first things I noticed about my boyfriend. Then after we got together he gave me the confidence to get my own. Now I've gotten the bug!2 points -
Thanks man. It was one of those deals where I didn't entirely know what I was getting til I got to the shop. As you can imagine, I was thrilled with what he came up with.2 points

I popped into a shop on a whim a couple of weeks ago and got a ghost tattoo. It looks like a cross between an onion and a squid. My wife says it looks like a ghost.2 points

Talking about how much tattoos hurt is about as interesting as talking about how much tattoos cost. It isn't. I'm getting a thigh done this weekend. It's going to be fun. I'm excited.2 points

I agree they all hurt,I have tattoos all over my body, and my inner thigh tattoo has been the most painful for me. and I agree with the pre-tattoo preperation, but I might add bring candy to keep electrolytes up,I bring skittles and M&M's mixed in a bag and a couple cold bottles of water,I even bring a small ice chest to keep the water cold.1 point

Don't drink the night before, get a good night of sleep, eat a hearty meal before you head to the shop & bring a fully charged phone, headphones and a book. You'll be fine ;) but yeah all tattoos hurt. Just some more so then others.1 point

@pidjones congratulations to both of you! I've been with my husband for nearly 18 years, and one of the very first things we did together was to get a couple of tiny tattoos (tight student budget but that's probably a good thing, who knows what crappy tattoos I'd have now otherwise), followed by the dreaded name tattoos a couple of years later. We'd both always wanted more but somehow they never seemed to materialize until I got another one on holiday a couple of years back, and three more over the past year. My problem is too many ideas, his is too few :D but he's finally settled on getting his first large-ish one next month and I'm really looking forward to it as well. I hope that by now he has realized that I'm probably not going to stop getting tattoos unless I run out of space or money...1 point

It's an unique opportunity to see some of the great artists, get a vibe and just check out the scene in general. Most of the folks are booked in advance and only a few are doing walk ups. If you are on Instagram, check out their feed. pagodacitytattoofest. I think that you're perspective may shift after seeing some of these folks. Go slow and choose the right artist.1 point

I guess I'm just not observant enough - it took until I knes exactly where to look before I saw the difference in the handle. I also think it looks great!1 point

@Mark Bee Is that supposed to make me feel better? I'm normally forgiving of an artist's mistakes, but this uneven handle is going to drive me crazy! I need to stop by at another shop in the same town sometime to let another guy who tattooed me get healed photos of what he did, so I figure I'll just pop in to both shops someday.1 point -

I'd love to collect watches. Way too pricey for me, though. Instead, I've been collecting fountain pens (new and antique) for the last few years. I must have a thing for sharp instruments and ink.1 point

PlaceInTheSun reacted to bongsau for a topic
yeah good points @marley mission i've also have had rough heals on my thighs. i like your comment about front row action. when I got my first couple of tattoos, I thought meh what's the big deal, it doesn't hurt! Then I got my ribs tattooed and I can still taste that salty single tear when he hit me with the shader (after lining). My tattooer's like c'mon buddy not even hitting ya that hard with the shader lol. Ah memories. I long for the younger glory days when tattoos "didn't hurt". I guess I got all the big stuff out of the way now. But I still have the tops of my feet and armpits, and damn I am terrified - especially of the feet. We say that all people are born with X number of tattoo credits. The more you get tattooed, the more tattoo credits you spend...and the more that shit fucking hurts !!1 point -
I have half sleeves on both arms, and the bicep is excruciating. You don't know anything about pain if you haven't had large tattoos. Sorry. You just don't. @Synesthesia is 100% right.1 point

Palm/Lightning Bolt are 12years old, Turtle is 11, Shark is 7, Octopus is 6 ... :) it's almost time to start thinking about filling in those open spots on the back of the calf. blast in solid bright-ass yellow in the bad brains bolt. maybe a mini-beach scene inside the palm tree. likely going to blast over the red-yellow rising sun. also thinking of getting the turtle redone (by the same tattooer Miles Kanne) in the next few years. I'm keeping the blue water, how Y2K-Canadian of me1 point
