  1. I got this little one shot eagle yesterday at the Quebec City convention from Trevor McStay. It wraps a lot because it takes up most of my thigh so here are a couple of pictures.

  2. I picked up this little heart and dagger at a local shop's flash event. Didn't realize until I got home that the top of the handle is jacked up. I think it'll be an easy fix so I'll just swing by one afternoon after it's healed and ask him to fix up the diamond-y part. Don't really blame the guy considering how insanely busy the shop was that day. Other than the handle, I love it, and it helps fill in an annoying gap nicely. EDIT: Silly me, I forgot to give credit. Atom Lenhart at Golden Ages in Lancaster, PA did this. I've been tattooed by two guys in that shop now and will probably get a second from Atom (I have an idea he would be awesome at) and will probably get stuff from the other two guys too.

  3. My right bicep is healing nicely. We'll have a few places to touch up, but I'm ready to do the next part! June 30 seems too far away.

  4. Hi all - it' seems in the move we've lost all the directly uploaded to the forum (ie not hotlinked from an image site or linked from gallery) images. Also, I was wondering if we could bring that functionality back? There are images I don't really want in a gallery (unfinished tattoos or examples of a problem [blowout]) that I'd like to provide visual examples of without having to subscribe to photobucket etc. Thanks all!

  5. find the right tattooer first - the wrong tattooer will let you put 10lbs of shit into a 5lb bag then you'll find yourself searching coverup threads a good tattooer can save you from yourself establish that then discuss what you are looking for then let them design a good looking tattoo

  6. I'll show you next time I see you. He put so much nice detail into it in the patterns and textures in the wings, in the branches. I'm going to have to stop wearing pants just so I can look at it all the time. @Devious6 You can never go wrong with an eagle.

  7. That is one beautiful eagle @Graeme! I love the detail. I, too, am having major jealousy - my next is definitely going to be an eagle!

    "Tattoo Collector" ?????

to me a "tattoo collector" is one like me, I consider myself a collector, IMO a "tattoo collector" is one who collects several different styles from several different artists.small and large pieces. I have some tattoos from very well known artists, and some from not so well known artists, I have some amazing tattoos and I have some not so amazing tattoos LOL,but they are mine and I like all my tattoos. most of my tattoos do not really "go together" or stay with a particular theme, I have full arm sleeves, but they consist of many different pieces and styles, some pretty small some large, some very old some new,the same goes for my legs, I have a mix of color tattoos and B&G,I have some fineline and some bold line pieces, I get a idea of the next piece and artist by how I feel at that moment, although I do now have a plan since I am running out of room, my collection started in the early 80's and has been done by artists from texas & california & Hawaii.I like traveling to get work done,I like getting convention tattoos also. so that's my take on what a "tattoo collector" is.

  10. this is my project for next season (winter) i'm going to tile in some background in and behind the frog...perhaps some overlapping matrix of black and red spider webs. I don't know about the other side (inner thigh), its my last major space for a big tattooo. Something with fire, crazy colours, the weirder the better.

    Tattoo Advice?

They would be on two very different parts of your body so clashing isn't really an issue. When I see tattoos on real people I often see a lot of different styles of tattoo sitting together. I think it looks cool, personally. I'd also suggest going bolder because I prefer bold tattoos and they are going to last a lot longer and age a lot better than delicate tattoos, but that has nothing to do with clashing styles. Get the tattoos that make you excited about tattoos.

    Lower leg tattoo

Just a quick follow-up, in the end I had no swelling at all and I just took off the tegaderm since the tattoo was feeling great and I wanted to be able to see it again. Seems like it's ready to peel, no scabbing and no tenderness whatsoever. This has been my easiest heal ever (including two tiny ones with just really thin linework). Definitely not what I expected, but I don't mind lol. Sorry for the crap pic, and the 'derm wrinkles! Tattoo is just under three days old.

  16. Here are the end results of my trip to Denver. My wife got some balloons and I got a praying mantis. Both by Destroy Troy at Til Death. Great shop and fun artist. Also, The Cure was fantastic, the beer was cold and I used Saniderm for the first time.

  22. Seriously. I have one nice watch, a Citizen first generation Eco Drive, and only cost a fraction of what some of the watches I've looked at run. I do love some nice watches but, damn, that can be an expensive hobby.

  23. You're approaching this the wrong way. Don't look for people who do a lot of food tattoos, look for people who do excellent tattoos, and approach one of them with your idea. I would suggest Dynamic in Melbourne.

    "Tattoo Collector" ?????

I've amassed a lot of stuff during various bursts of enthusiasm (stereo equipment! impractical shoes!) but I think of "collector" as implying that the person has a very particular taste and is discerning. In a way, it also implies, to me, that there's an audience for the collecting. Like a record collector is different from a person who just has a lot of records, because the former might seek out specific pressings. I've had the good fortune of getting nice tattoos thanks to this place, but I don't have anything like the knowledge or refinement to think of myself as a collector. Mostly I want to spraypaint this old jalopy so that it looks better.

  33. Hey, I'm from York, about an hour and a half from you. I don't know what kind of styles you like, but here's a few good local artists to get you started: Rob Diamond in Harrisburg - https://www.instagram.com/_diamondtattoos_/?hl=en Paul Acker in Philly - https://www.instagram.com/paulackertattoo/?hl=en Bryan Merck also in Philly and at the same shop as Paul Acker - https://www.instagram.com/bmerck_ink/?hl=en Pat Haney, again in Philly - https://www.instagram.com/easy_tiger/?hl=en Michael Kelly in Lancaster - https://www.instagram.com/michaeljtattoos/ Once you figure out what styles you're most into, we could probably give you some more specific recommendations, but those guys are just the first few off the top of my head that do really nice work.

  35. Let's not take the "don't talk about money" rule too far. Perfectly fine to ask an artist what his/her rate is and how many hours it will take and do the math. Bring extra in case it goes over an hour or two and always tip your artist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  36. Palm/Lightning Bolt are 12years old, Turtle is 11, Shark is 7, Octopus is 6 ... :) it's almost time to start thinking about filling in those open spots on the back of the calf. blast in solid bright-ass yellow in the bad brains bolt. maybe a mini-beach scene inside the palm tree. likely going to blast over the red-yellow rising sun. also thinking of getting the turtle redone (by the same tattooer Miles Kanne) in the next few years. I'm keeping the blue water, how Y2K-Canadian of me

  40. Finished my lower leg with Grez at King's Ave NYC. He added the (bloody and swollen) lighthouse and ROA piece to go along with the clipper ship from Russ Abbott. I couldn't be happier with how he was able to tie it all together. Sorry for the giant pic, I'll post healed shots in a couple of weeks, there's a video on my IG: wedge45.

  43. Im in the process of restoring this footage- originally shot on 8mm film in the 1970s, converted to VHS in the 80s where this rip comes from. Doing me best to color correct it, but the VHS is suffering digital rot. Shot at Ken Myers Kissimmee shop.
