    Repeating Tattoos?

I apparently have many recurring tattoo ideas. I also have three Keith Haring drawings/paintings:

  5. Just a bit of a random question here, I was wondering if any of you find yourselves getting more than one of any given design? Meaning do you find you have lots of skulls, or lots of animals, or daggers etc. I have just been perving on tattoos, and while the few that I do have are nothing alike ( 7 butterflies on hip, stars n kids initials on back, pipes on arm, heart and daggers on sternum) , I do see myself ending up with lots of skulls and animals. Feel free to share pictures too :)

  6. Yes, I have three other tattoos. One on my wrist and one on my upper chest. Then I have one on the side of my stomach down by my waist that I used to cover some stretch marks very effectively. Some of that tattoo goes up over my ribs. That one hurt the most. I really like the tattoos I have already. I'm always happy to get another tattoo so if I can cover something I don't like up then it's a great thing.

  10. Just got my first tattoo on Monday and want to make sure the healing process is going all right. It seems as if the whole tattoo is scabbing/cracking but I noticed most of the tattoos I have read about just end up peeling and skipping the scabbing process. I have been showering once every day in the morning using dial gold, lightly patting dry, applying a small amount of tattoo cream after the shower and once at night. Just seems like everything is cracking/scabbing heavily especially the red parts. Here are pics of it now and pics right after getting it done. Thanks all help is appreciated.

  11. ^^ Wow, that's an impressive tattoo for your first!! If you followed the aftercare instructions correctly, then you've done everything right. It looks fine to me, tattoos can heal differently depending on the person. I wouldn't worry too much about what other people say regarding scabbing, peeling, or lack thereof...that just leads to paranoia. Well, it does for me anyway haha. Red can be a trickier colour to heal for some people too, but if you want peace of mind, you could always ask your artist. But it does look normal to me... I just got my Copyrights tattoo earlier today. So happy with it. I mean it's simple, but yeah...I love it. I love that band!

  13. So are you always such a rude dickhead? Because good luck finding any decent tattoo artist who will put up with you being such a jerk.

  15. Yeah, I know I can't find a cultural reference, but I was meaning, do you know if one of the famous old school tattoo masters have this particular design in their flash sheets? Like let's say if you see some design you can tell is from Sailor Jerry or Amund Dietzel, I was asking if in this sense, this design can be attributed to someone in particular!

  16. This is perfect. I have three snake tattoos, and can't stand snakes in real life. I have nightmares about them quite often. Can never have too many snake tattoos. I also have three rose tattoos (two black, one blue).

what do you have your skulls paired with @oboogie ? Or are some alone? I love skulls (tattoo form or otherwise, we have a kangaroo and a fox skull, did have a sheep but it went. I also have skulls on clothing, in earring form. ) what birds do you have? Edit: nice birds! :) thanks for posting pics

  20. Be sure to post photos! :-) He was doing a book of flash with the cartoon artist who does Please Keep Warm. My Prison Tat Jesus was part of the same series.

  21. well I don't think you will find a "cultural reference: who invented this design" of it,the only thing I think you will find is examples of what other artists have drawn up & done in a tattoo,I don't think there is a "cultural reference",that's like asking for a "cultural reference" of a swallow or anchor tattoo,it's just art IMO.

  22. Yes, I was looking for something like this, I will add the spider hanging from the spiderweb and two flowers to balance the composition and make it look a little bit less, let's say "creepy". I'm really looking forward to this!

  23. Finally finished this huge thigh piece a few days ago, loosely based on the cover for one of my favorite metal albums! Pictures taken a couple hours after when I was still ridiculously red and swollen. I'll be sure to post better pics once it's done peeling. Done by Sam Warren at Dreams Collide in Lancaster, PA. 24. Finished my lower leg with Grez at King's Ave NYC. He added the (bloody and swollen) lighthouse and ROA piece to go along with the clipper ship from Russ Abbott. I couldn't be happier with how he was able to tie it all together. Sorry for the giant pic, I'll post healed shots in a couple of weeks, there's a video on my IG: wedge45.

    Road blocks ??

My tattoos that like the best are the ones where I gave the vaguest ideas to my tattooer! I'd say don't worry so much about the specifics of the art - but it's your tattoo so whatever it takes for you to love it, go for it. Who the tattooer should be and where on your body they go are both pretty important though :)

Not sure what happened to my picture from above - might have been blown up in the move to the new format. In any case, here's my wolf. My first tattoo.
