i like the goofy tattoo i have my share of questionable content :) in my tattoos but i also feel like ...do you really wanna build a whole sleeve around a tattoo thats....well...goofy -- no offense why the need to add to it like... why not get another tattoo somewhere elsewhere on your body and go from there3 points -

Then why go to so much trouble with designers etc? Just go straight to the artist you want, give them your ideas and let them workTHEIR magic. Take some basic print offs so they have an idea of what youre On about sure. But dont go to all that trouble mentioned in your previous posts.3 points -

@agadan93 not gonna judge the content here of what you are looking to do but my main thought is that this discussion is really for you and a tattoo artist to have - contuning to debate along this thread serves no point really imo2 points -

TattooedMumma and one other reacted to bongsau for a topic
hey there bud, welcome the first step is knowing what exactly you want. once you got that figured you just need to set foot in a tattoo shop with a hardcopy of your reference, articulate what you want, drop your deposit and lock in your appointment. this is the hardest part of getting a tattoo - knowing exactly what you want. cheers and good luck.2 points -
Ciao e benvenuto sul forum! I'm from Trieste and will get a tattoo from Dane at Inkamatic studio in like a month. I'm usper excited about it! I think that around the goofy image you should do something totally different like a mandala or an asian pattern in order to create a background to that tattoo.2 points

Found your intro thread to catch your back story. Nice to see someone else get back into getting tattooed after a long time away. I too got started by covering up some regrettable tattoos from my youth in my early 40s and I not seem to have hit a stride of about one hand sized piece every 6 months or so. Moving to Dallas with Olliver's convention happening regularly sure has helped. That is a nice collection you have going there.2 points -

If you aren't wanting any more Disney characters, then maybe think of something else bright and fun (thinking of that sleeve you posted, I think that is what you were linking.. the bright colours??) If you are set on having a balloon, just get a balloon tattoo and make it its own. Something bright and fun? I don't know... But definitely discuss it all with the artist. Maybe leave it for now and do what Marley Mission said and get something else somewhere else. After a while an idea might come to you on what else to put with Goofy1 point -

@agadan93 definitely something you should discuss with your artist like marley mission said. I actually think your Goofy would be great in a sleeve like the one you posted (and no, it's not really considered the same style at all but some mash ups do work great, subject to the artist's ability and vision of course). I like weird stuff though and some tattoo purists would probably consider it an abomination :), but your body, your tattoo! Not sure if I like the balloon and the cloud in this kind of a context, at least in the style the images you posted were, but the background/filler type cloud in the sleeve you posted could work better? If you are thinking of building up a sleeve but are not completing it straight away, you really need to think what elements/images you want to include before filling up valuable space, and most people would get those before connecting the single tattoos with the background/filler. Who is your artist? I'm also getting a new one on the 10th, can't wait!1 point -

Ciao e benvenuto da Palermo :D. Starting from your tattoo, I'd do a cartoon/Disney arm, probably getting several different characters I like and then tying them together with filler tattoos/background when there's no space left for decent size pieces. That's if you're going for a cohesive sleeve look. I don't actually mind separate smallish tattoos on the arm either, it's really up to your personal preference.1 point -
Hey, all, I'm Jen, and I'm new round here. I've read a lot of posts here, so I thought I'd join in the banter. I am a tattoo collector. 90% of mine are by Joshua Henderson at Brainstorm Tattoo in Fayetteville, Arkansas, who I think is crazy talented. I also have been tattooed by Richard Stell, and I'm getting another from him the Oklahoma Tattoo Convention at the end of this month. I'm a big admirer of Richard and Jennifer Stell, who are two of the coolest people I've had the chance to meet. I've been helping Jennifer with proofreading and updating the tattoo convention website. Good times! I guess I'll post a few of my tattoos in subsequent posts. Thanks for letting me join here, and I hope to become a regular! - - - Updated - - - - - - Updated - - -1 point

I understand. I moved to Dallas for a job but my family is still in Indiana. If it weren't for the whole 'maintaining 2 households' thing I would likely be moving at a faster pace myself. I am considering moving below the elbows soon. I think when I make that move I will have to go back to Bloomington and let Jereme make that first tattoo. He did my mushrooms and the skull/wings tattoos on my legs. I think if he were anywhere bigger than Bloomington, Indiana more people would know of him.1 point -

@Boiled Dove, hey, thanks! I certainly took a very long break, but I'm really pleased with my ever-growing collection. I'm getting tattooed every two to three months, so I do need to slow down a bit. However, I can't seem to help myself.1 point -
extreme thick scabbing
Devious6 reacted to PrivateAle for a topic
It ended up being fine. That big nasty scab there just fell off. It took some colour out with it, but I don't mind getting it touched up. I'm just glad it sorted itself out, I was freaking out there for a while!1 point -
Re-wrapping tattoos
oboogie reacted to PrivateAle for a topic
It's interesting, over here in Ireland you'll often come across aftercare instructions that suggest keeping the tattoo wrapped for the first 3 days (obviously cleaning and re-wrapping with new cling film each time). But when I got my tattoo in FL last year, I couldn't believe it when the tattoo artist said to take the wrap off after 4 hours or so and not to re-wrap it Gaagaun) again! It seemed crazy to me. But I followed his instructions and it actually healed so well!1 point -
You're wasting your time and your money getting anybody other than the person who is doing the tattoo to draw it. Anything you bring to the artist you choose would have to be completely redrawn to make it work as a tattoo. Better to do your research, find the artist you want to do it, and approach him or her with the idea directly.1 point

Hi My first time on any forum. Love to see all the pictures. I love tattoos have a few myself and love the addiction of getting more. Most of my tattoos are family inspired but now getting more to the cows ( I love cows ) 1 Cow tattoo now but at least 3 more lined up to be done. Hope to get some inspiration here for myself and for my son who wants to cover a big scar on his leg.1 point -

Ok I have one. Bad advice basically. But specifically, I was told on friday by a local how I should definitely go and get some numbing cream. Firstly , fuck off. Secondly , why the fuck?? Thirdly - *buries head in hands* no.1 point -
Well, to be fair, it wasn't the person with the tattoos who came here. If they came here, I'd assume they want education. This is just a friend hoping to get enough negative response to convince her not to keep going.1 point

I disagree with this sentiment. Those tattoos can be covered up or lasered off, and with the exception of her back, I don't think those would be especially difficult coverups. They're mistakes, they're gross errors in judgement, but starting by getting shitty tattoos doesn't mean that you're stuck getting shitty tattoos forever.1 point

Pretty much every time he opened his mouth. Hibbard was created and encouraged by the producers- believe it. For Nunez to call him out re: "real" tattooers implies that he (Nunez) isn't selling out tattooing as well. But hey. S'long as the check clears, right?1 point -

I completely agree. I don't even care who reads this, I think that dude is a talking dickhead. Like obviously both Oliver and Chris are well-versed and talented tattooers, but I think the crucial difference between the two is that Oliver is pretty comfortable in his position, whereas I feel that Chris is always kind of pushing it in your face and the finale was a fantastic example of that.1 point -
