  1. Sorry, I couldn't resist, the intense worries about moisturising kinda reminds me of: But in all seriousness, you really don't need to moisturise every day, especially the back, where skin is usually not dry at all. I use a lotion on my tattoos only when they get irritated (by clothes or something) or when I lotion whole body after bath, which is no often than once in two weeks or so.

    Hi

I can tell you that this type of cyst is SUBcutaneous (beneath the skin), and tattoos are cutaneous, so one should have nothing to do with the other. As you've been told, no one really understands why some people seem to get them, but you're probably right, genetics play a role no doubt. Looks like things are coming along nicely, and congratulations!

  4. If you need to ask an internet forum "is it safe" you already know the answer. Tattoos are exciting. We all agree on that. But don't let that drown out the hesitation present in your voice (words). There are several red flags. First of which is getting tattooed in some random guy's apartment. Yeah, that seems like a legit world class tattooist :/ Your long-term health is far more valuable than "art" or tattoos. Unless you are fairly experienced with getting tattoo I would be very cautious. update - you did the right thing

  5. Relax about the tattoo. Yes, how well you take care of yourself and your body generally, especially with regard to sun exposure, is going to have an effect on how the tattoo looks over time, but a lot of it also comes down to how the tattoo was made to begin with. Not moisturizing every day isn't going to make your tattoo fall apart.

  8. There're a whole lot of tattoo artists that absolutely shun people that don't act as a professional, with a proper sanitary shop, a business licence, and an actual location that a customer can come back to if there are issues. There are tons of tattoo artists that are featured as guests at other shops around the world, but any guy who is travelling to random places and setting up shop in apartments is suspect. If he was actually any good, and had a good reputation, he'd be a guest at shop or could rent a chair at any real shop without issue... Ask any professional what they think about getting tattooed in an apartment (or anywhere other than a shop or at convention), and see what they say... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Richmond VA is pretty heavily tattooed, and I have to agree with some comments above that most I see on an average day are shitty. Poor quality, random and trendy content, poorly executed and poorly placed. No reason for that in this town, but life is a process, and you don't know what's good without seeing the bad. Everyone seems caught up in it here, crossing all levels of society, and many aren't doing their research, and want what they want, NOW. They can get it now, too, no problem. Lots of owls/monocles/top hats/feathers/infinity signs/flocks of birds/ironic type tattoos, but a ton of traditional and new school. Lotsa bad portraits, too.

  11. It seems like you know the answer to your own question: your skin is reacting to being over-moisturized. This reaction will likely be worse for your skin-health (and therefor the tattoo) longterm than simply not moisturizing everyday. So, don't moisturize everyday. You don't need fancy products and herbs and salves and potions for good tattoos to look good for a long time.

    What do you use?

I've had good luck with Redemption too. But don't over think it, use a fragrance free lotion and you'll be fine. What works well for some people might not work as well for others. I've heard good and bad about tattoo goo.

  16. I would never get tattooed in someone's apartment. This guy doesn't know any tattooers who will let him work in their shop? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. I wouldn't get tattooed by him, and the red flag for me is the tattoos themselves. Get the tattoos that excite you, but recognize and have realistic expectations of the longevity of certain kinds of tattoos.

Hustle butter for me. I heal way better and don't break out like I do with lotions and petroleum based products
