Hey, all, I'm Jen, and I'm new round here. I've read a lot of posts here, so I thought I'd join in the banter. I am a tattoo collector. 90% of mine are by Joshua Henderson at Brainstorm Tattoo in Fayetteville, Arkansas, who I think is crazy talented. I also have been tattooed by Richard Stell, and I'm getting another from him the Oklahoma Tattoo Convention at the end of this month. I'm a big admirer of Richard and Jennifer Stell, who are two of the coolest people I've had the chance to meet. I've been helping Jennifer with proofreading and updating the tattoo convention website. Good times! I guess I'll post a few of my tattoos in subsequent posts. Thanks for letting me join here, and I hope to become a regular! - - - Updated - - - - - - Updated - - -3 points

I got all of these touched up last week by my artist, Josh Henderson. Next tattoo is scheduled with Richard Stell at the Oklahoma Tattoo Convention at the end of this month, then I'm finishing my half sleeve on my right arm with Josh in May. Looking forward to both!2 points -
Thinking about tattooing my fat belly. Good/bad idea?

Your weight should have nothing to do with your tattoos, and vice-versa.2 points -
If you go big and bold it's going to look fucking rad. Tattooed flesh looks better than non-tattooed flesh. Fat doesn't figure into it at all.2 points

Go see Tom Yak at Electric Tattoo in Asbury Park, NJ. He can do everything, including folky tattoos (some are included in his portfolio which I am linking to here) plus his tattoos are going to look good forever because he knows how to properly make a tattoo. He's also a fantastic guy and is very gentle, which is always a pleasant bonus. Home1 point

Marley - I contacted Bang Bang a while ago, and the artist I was interested in (Georgia or Liz, can't remember) had a base min. of $1000 for 2 hours!!!! And this was for a pretty small tattoo. I almost died. I think their cheapest artist charged 400/hour. There are a lot of great artists out there who aren't so crazy overpriced. If it were a dream of mine to have a tat done by them, I might consider it....but I'd sooner fly to Slovakia and spend all my money at Bumpkin. ATM, it's just not financially feasible. That's not to say I won't consider a great artist if they're expensive...it all depends. - - - Updated - - - LadySparrow - I just saw your tattoo on another site! Love it. I love their drawings of people...if I ever go to Bumpkin I think a tattoo depicting a person would be quite lovely.1 point

Welcome! :D I love the knife across the winged insect (my firts lenguage is spanish so I don't know what's the name for this, sorry, hahaha) tattoo. Your collection is awesome, such a good taste!1 point

Yes! That's exactly what I use. I like Hustle Butter, too — it is mostly shea butter. Smells lovely.1 point

kind of enjoying this period here - looking to get something done late spring - nothing happening in the summer so that will be a good slow down for me - but....not sure who or what - problem is - and I'm not complaining now - is that i have had so many great experiences with different tattooers - and i'm torn sometimes - do you go back and get another from one of those tattooers - or do you stay in that 'collector' mode - wanting to have another awesome new experience with another tattooer in another shop - my recent trip to maryland to see chad koeplinger kinda opened my eyes a little to the possibilities of traveling further out to get tattooed anyway - like i said - not REAL problem - just some fun stuff going through my head as i ponder the immediate tattoo future for myself i do think i know the piece i want - its a classic and so many of the tattooers i'm thinking about would kill it - got the spot picked out too ah - rambling now - - - Updated - - - kind of enjoying this period here - looking to get something done late spring - nothing happening in the summer so that will be a good slow down for me - but....not sure who or what - problem is - and I'm not complaining now - is that i have had so many great experiences with different tattooers - and i'm torn sometimes - do you go back and get another from one of those tattooers - or do you stay in that 'collector' mode - wanting to have another awesome new experience with another tattooer in another shop - my recent trip to maryland to see chad koeplinger kinda opened my eyes a little to the possibilities of traveling further out to get tattooed anyway - like i said - not REAL problem - just some fun stuff going through my head as i ponder the immediate tattoo future for myself i do think i know the piece i want - its a classic and so many of the tattooers i'm thinking about would kill it - got the spot picked out too ah - rambling now1 point -

Kill Uncle reacted to Naiemh for a topic
You killed me, hahaha, I was not expecting that. My nickname is something super childish (as usual so I'm a little baby on here). When I was 10 I translated my name to japanese and it was Niemh, because I was (and I am) a huge lover of japanese culture. I didn't like it so I added an 'a': Naiemh. Booked with Grez on May 12th to tattoo my knee. I have both shins done and then my lower thighs, so the gap at my knee is oddly shaped. No one I'd trust more than Grez. Now I have a few weeks to figure out what I want! - - - Updated - - - Booked with Grez on May 12th to tattoo my knee.
