  1. I got these two recently as gap fillers. Both pretty spur of the moment. Paul was guesting with us, I really wanted to be tattooed because I liked his work and I buzzed off him as a person, but didn't want to be tattooed just for the sake of it. Was flirting with loads of designs but then I saw the design (dagger and rose) and thought it fitted perfectly in an awkward spot on my leg. Fits like a glove, I was buzzing so hard off getting this one done, I was on a high all night! The kittycus is just a cute idea I came up with after seeing similar things and I knew Sam would nail it. The pic is fresh but I can assure you it looks exactly the same healed. Solid. This is by far and away the cutest tattoo I have. It makes me smile everytime I see it!

  5. Something a bit different than your badass pieces :) done by Bumpkin Tattoo, Trnava, Slovakia. It was a free design that really spoke to my booklover soul. Photo from the artists' Facebook. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  9. I spent 26 years on active duty in the Army, retired in 2004, as an officer. During the majority of my career, officers did not have tattoos...at least any that showed unless they had come up through the ranks (there were some Vietnam vets who had done that during the first third or so of my career). Then I entered the civilian workforce in private higher education. Over the past 12 years I've been with the college, we've had more employees get inked and have hired some who showed their tattoos during interviews. For me, even before I got my first...10 days ago...that wasn't an issue. We expect people to be clean and neat - at least as much as their job allows - and showing their artwork is not an issue. I wish I could say that is the case at all colleges and universities.

  11. I have 2 appointments lined up. First is another piece by Shawn Van Oven at the Electric City Tattoo convention. I will be getting it done on lower right leg next to a piece be did last year. I have no idea on what he is going to do. I told him to surprise me. I trust him and love his style. He knows what I am into and giving him 100% freedom is sure to be a killer tat. Second date will be in September at the Shamens Den in Binghamton NY. This is my dream tat and I cannot wait. We are flying in Peter Lagergren from Sweden. Not sure on what i am gonna do yet. Torn between some kind of Reaper king on horse, pirate, head hunter king, wolf in sheeps clothing. Any ideas please help me out.

  12. I get asked to do a ton of cancer ribbons and death dates. I usually try to steer folks into ideas that reflect their loved ones more than what killed them.

  14. I have had experience with Saniderm on 3 tattoos in the last few months,2 medium & one large, I have the artist clean the tattoo right when it's done and apply it then ,with nothing on the tattoo except the saniderm, & like was said I keep it on for at least 3 days,on my knee it was on for 4 days, the shit works great,I remove the film and use aquafor for a few days, then go to fragrance free lubriderm, a day or 2 after I remove the film it's already doing the main peel, I buy it directly from Saniderm | Keep it Clean. Keep it Simple. ,I get the 10" by 2 yards roll,it's $16.95 + $7 shipping for me(central cal),that way it covers large or whatever size pieces,I love the stuff !
