Last time you got tattooed? (THE ITCH)
polliwog reacted to TrixieFaux for a topic
Last time was in June when I got my Chris Conn lady head. I have the itch. I e-mailed someone who I really want a tattoo from about a week and a half ago and he wrote back yesterday saying, yes, he'd love to tattoo my idea. Next step...go by for an in-person consultation, put down a deposit and book the date. YAY!1 point -
Post shitty things you have been doing recently

Ohhh wisdom teeth. I had mine done in one shot too. Got some really HD pain bills too. Didn't miss a beat though doing construction at the house and spitting blood (outside) everywhere. I had one socket, slow to heal until this twisted spiral of broken tooth worked its way out...1 point -
My chest tattoo healed like a dream. It was fully healed in pretty much 7-10 days which is a new one for me. Probably the cleanest heal I've experienced so far. However, my chest hair is being a fucking pain in the ass. I'm never shaving my chest with a razor ever again (and never have prior to this). At first I thought it was just the tattoo being itchy, but I realized that it was the hair since it was itchy far away from any part of the tattoo.. It grows in every direction so it catches on clothing all day no matter what I'm doing. I guess I'm lucky, cause I won't have to razor shave again to touch up the tattoo, so this is only a 1 time thing!1 point

SO Many Fantastic pieces being posted!! Here is my latest (and second, lol) tattoo. It was done by Christian Buckingham at Revolt in Las Vegas last week. It's on the right side of my chest and took about 4hr. The idea was basically a war style triceratops and I asked for it to be tough looking.....the rest was left up to the artist and I couldn't be more stoked with the results! This picture is a quick cell phone pic from the day the piece was completed, maybe will upload another of the healed result in several weeks.1 point

Contractor "What is all that shit? Spilling out of the collar eh. What did you get drunk a few times since we finished that last project?" it was all jokes...but I get this often - equating tattoos to a foolish drunken mistake...yeah sure duh1 point

Thanks all! Goldfish was one of my mentions, and Eddy suggested we "crack him open and put something inside". So pumped on how well it's healing. That Tony Blue Arms chest is awesome!1 point -

Had a cool session with Eddy Deutsche and received this Goldfish, powered by a Kappa pilot. My input was: weird, eastern influence, and I threw out a bunch of classic imagery.1 point -
I had my first session with Steve Moore yesterday and we finished up the outline for my Monkey King. I have about 48 hours of tattooing under my belt so far and this outline session was only 3 hours, but the most uncomfortable and painful 3 hours yet! I've read a lot on full backs and apparently they can be quite sharp, but I had a hard time in quite a few spots. For example, often I can keep my breathing and just flow through the pain, but this session had me clenching my jaw, face and just suffering. Steven started chatting with me and it really helped distract me. Steve Moore is absolutely a professional. He researched tons for this piece. He looked at photographs of monkeys, martial artists, and other reference pictures. He mentioned that he debated about how to put the orientation of the Monkey King's foot and used a martial artist's monkey style to duplicate it. I think it looks amazing and the details on it just blew me away. I love how Steve put our collaboration ideas together. Anyways, here's the drawing After three hours of outlining Got my next session in February. Dreading it a bit, but also very excited haha1 point

How to deal with annoying meaning of tattoo question
joakim urma reacted to jimstanley for a topic
I don't get asked these questions. I also don't draw attention to my tattoos. The annoying ones for me are "Show me your eagle!" to which I reply "Let me see your chest too!" If someone is asking for meaning they're trying to feel included and fuck them for not being able to stay in their own damn lane1 point -

For real! Knowing the sensation of getting tattooed, the cream makes it seem like you're getting stabbed with cotton swabs, haha. I have no moral qualms about using it again, especially if it's on a day I'm not up to par and/or a super painful spot.1 point -

I almost forgot our kittehs. George is the eldest. We adopted him from a family member who named him "Convict" because of his orange color and his escape attempts. We fixed him but he still loved the outdoors so we let him roam in and out of the house until he was severely injured by a tomcat. He is now an indoor only cat after an almost $1000 vet bill. We nursed him through the healing process at home. He likes to lick my head sometimes. Sophie and Sasha were adopted strays 3 years ago. They grew up together and are great buddies. Sophie the tortoise on the left was born in an abandoned car. She actually walked up to me in a parking lot and claimed me. She is a little shy but very sweet and calm. She loves Andy dog. Sasha followed our grandson home when he was running on our street's sidewalk. She claimed him quickly. She craves attention and turned out to be a huge cat.1 point -

my 7yo nephew: "Uncle Eric, why do you have a Chinese guy on your back?" "Uncle Eric, do you have a tattoo on your bum?" "Uncle Eric, I'm gonna get a tattoo like you. Like a Metal Mulisha tattoo. Or maybe Fox Racing." ...don't worry kiddo, Uncle Eric will set you straight when you're old enough ;)1 point
