Rubendall and Henning said I "buck the Asian stereotype" of having no ass :D7 points -
finally... a thread i can get behind. ;) i don't have anything there yet, but chad discussed the possibility of extending my back piece down. my wife is strictly against the idea, but then again, she wants me to slow down on getting tattoos in general. i have the same sentiment as expressed above by @<a href="http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/member.php?u=54750" target="_blank">The Tig</a> ... i have a lot of skin to cover before "doing da butt" (song below, for your pleasure)... less painful and more prominent spots take priority, at this point. speaking of mr. koeplinger, one of my favorite uses of the ass in a tattoo is the kali he did... photos below.5 points

@Cork @bongsau Yeah they both wanted to put two big eyes on my cheeks... But I opted out of that, not fond of eye-tattoos. Probably it's going to be Iain who will get to do it in the end anyhow. I think that all this thinking about ass (tattoos) has made me enjoy non-figurative tattoo styles a lot more. For me it would be kind of weird to have an image on the ass, like why d'ya have that for? I think Junior Goussain, Tomas Tomas, Curly, Jeroen Franken or Gerhard Weisbeck would be my top choices now if it were not for how far away they live from me/having to travel with a newly tattooed butt. Here's one that I like Tas Danazoglou made it on Guy Le Tatooer3 points -
I'm in the class of "being smart" and getting my ass as part of my back, haha. Honestly, if it weren't for my back piece, I don't think I'd have my ass tattooed. If I didn't have a one piece, and I were to do a bunch of tattoos, I would just try to make it mesh well. @mmikaoj with a back like yours, I would get some more black pieces. Something that flows well with the curves of the cheeks. I'm sure the guys who did your back would love to tag team your ass. hahaha3 points

Ok you all remember the shit piece and squiggly lines David Corden did on me and I have lasered it off, below 2 pictures of how it looked lol Went and saw Victor while I was driving about Europe couple weeks back and had some touch ups all over really but he also did a little filler where the shit squiggly lines were ready for connection to my knee. Still healing so its still very dark :) And a couple of pictures of Victor admiring my beautiful arse while I was there ;)2 points -

As for imagery that would be personal to you I don't think I could help you there That part has gotta come from you I think As for the script alone - plenty of people like script tattoos So for me it's just my personal taste that I wouldn't want that standing alone Now - if you do just go for the script Make sure you find someone that does it well And let them do the lettering design And depending on the location of the tattoo you should listen to the artists advice on size Don't be the guy with a little script tattoo floating in the middle of the forearm Because then you've just killed some prime real estate should you want additional tattoos in the area2 points -

I'll be direct here Doubting yourself on this design is a good thing Especially if you had ideas to use that exact script in the tattoo On the positive - the idea of a getting a tattoo that symbolizes your struggle with OCD sounds like a cool one - but I think you should go with some imagery rather than text And this next part is quite important - find a good artist You've done the right thing coming here to ask some questions Tattoos can be fun and impulsive things and work out just fine But most of the time - it's better to slow it down and do some thinking and researching It seems this is a case where you did have some doubt and it helped prevent you from making a bad decision - just my two cents - keep us updated2 points -

After 4 years of having to see the guy across from me pick and eat his boogers every time I turn my head, I decided to record it for proof's sake in case there is a justifiable homicide investigation on me! Imagine seeing this EVERY time you turn your head or leave your desk. #puke #biohazard #killmenow1 point -

My butt in between two Paul Jeffries butts ended up in the city newspaper last year lol - - - Updated - - - I think heavy black neo-tribal would look awesome and compliment your backpiece! Would you just get Iain Mullen to add-on, drop it down? I think his particular style could make a really unique butt design. Other butt-placement ideas: angel/devil, geisha/hanya masks, Grimm style sun/moon, naked ladies, big big flowers, poly-tribal blackwork, propellers, pattern/illustrative blackwork, ...HOT STUFF...1 point -

yep I agree with all the above. "don't doubt" comes across as a double negative, when the text would be better flipped to a positive. I think just text can work if it's so ornate it almost becomes an image in itself, or in a banner below an image. personally I think an image to symbolise the OCD would be a far wiser choice! I assume that one day you want to overcome the OCD and looking down at an awesome artwork on your arm and thinking about how your are now more decisive, confident, have more conviction etc will be way better that looking at a line of text which tells you off and may no longer even be relevant. @AverageJer is right, you can assign meaning to anything so look at imagery (tattoos, books, art, wildlife, sculpture, whatever) and see what you are drawn to or keep coming back to and the meaning will fall into place.1 point -

Waves and rocks, my backpiece extends all the way down. Black in the crack, it creates a shadow effect, to make the tattoo fit naturally on the buttocks. Go as deep as you and the tattooer feel comfortable with. If you don't, you'll be wishing you did and you will hesitate returning to the painful memories. My ass tattooing session was a very valuable lesson in humility and vulnerability. Plus my black ass looks fantastic now. You should definately bring a wooden spoon or ask your tattooer for a piece of old leather to bite down on. Seriously.1 point

not everyone's cup of tea on this forum probably, but i secured a session with Russ Abbott to do one of his signature geometric mandalas on my kneecap at the INKED Convention in Pasadena. Also have a small banger with Alan Padilla on my inner foot. i tried to text Gogue about doing my armpit at the convention and a second pass on my torso but he hasn't responded... :(1 point -

And then the following Friday, i headed over to Leeds in England for a pre-planned trip with a mate who was getting his first piece from Lukasz Christopher. I was booked in with Tom Flanagan - both in Oddfellows. I got a trad ship on my shin and a mandala on my foot (a Tom Flanagan staple). I have to sat, the foot was horrendously sore and not gonna go through it again any time soon! We had a great time in Oddfellows, Tom is a great guy and the other lads in the shop made us feel right at home. And the next morning. Swelling on the foot wasn't actually too bad Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk1 point -

I'm finally taking the plunge, giving in to the art and getting my back piece. Face it, I will never see this art. I will see reflections, photos and glimpses over my shoulder, but I will never see the whole piece as it was intended to be viewed. Ever. Based on some old Huck Spaulding flash, I need this winged tiger. I have given my artist (Iambillyhill.com) free reign to do as he wishes. "Alan, we'll use this as a starting point and then I'm going to Billy Hill the fuck out of it!" We do the outline today. T minus two hours and counting.1 point -
Haha! I think that highly motivated might be a better discription. When the man is in town you got to take the chance you get. Glad the side ribs are over though. Now starting to dread the eventual back piece. Oh what we put ourselves through for art's sake!1 point

haven't been on here in a while. I enjoyed seeing all the great work everyone has gotten recently! Had an appt with Chad Koeplinger on 11/14. I thought I was in for one more painful, albeit short, back appt for some touch ups in case he felt they were needed. After taking a look at my healed back, he said some very wonderful words "rob, I think we are done". I emphatically replied back, "thank GOD!" So, I had him do some filler on my wrist. He tattooed a flail and a fly and I am absolutely loving them both. I really enjoyed getting these, but I will admit, the ball of the flail, on the inside of my wrist was a bit more painful than I would have thought. Felt like it was sending electric shocks into my hand! Still, easier than the back for sure! Included a pic of my healed back, and a photo off of Chad's instagram of myself and a seemingly GIANT Andrew Stortz . Andrew's back piece is insanely good.1 point

This is a bit of a joint effort. The Dagger, Collar, Angel and Reaper (2-6 weeks old) are by Fergus Simms - Melbourne Tattoo Company, and the Eagle Snake fight (2.5 months old) is by Jess Swaffer - Chapel Tattoo. Wanted to wait until the whole spot was done before i posted them up! Super happy with them, and two of the nicest tattoo experiences (bar the pain!) I've ever had.1 point -

God bless anyone that can sit for more than four hours on the ribs. I've had four hours on my right ribs which sucked but he was able to finish the tattoo. Then on this past Tuesday, I had my left ribs/back/front worked on for four hours. I tell you what, when he hit my lower back right around my kidney, I was so.not.amused. Crimey. The lower back sucked! Only four more hours to go to finish!!1 point -
