Just got thumbs up from ol' Rudy Fritsch about the Scottish Convention in march next year. Getting my second elbow tattooed. Iain Mullen did my right elbow more than three years ago, and him + Rudy finished my backpiece at the convention this year. So this feels just perfect. Looking forward a lot!

You don't have to start every post with that! You have an incredible collection.

not everyone's cup of tea on this forum probably, but i secured a session with Russ Abbott to do one of his signature geometric mandalas on my kneecap at the INKED Convention in Pasadena. Also have a small banger with Alan Padilla on my inner foot. i tried to text Gogue about doing my armpit at the convention and a second pass on my torso but he hasn't responded... :(

  6. Chris Dingwall did an award winning dragon on my leg at a show in the 90's with the intent of coloring it when the outline healed. Long story short, this never happened. 20 years later I decide to get it colored and found Chris was working in New England so I email him and got the okay to have someone else finish the job. With a clear conscience and good mojo, I sought out a local artist who was stoked to be working on a Dingwall piece and happily finished the job.

  7. And then the following Friday, i headed over to Leeds in England for a pre-planned trip with a mate who was getting his first piece from Lukasz Christopher. I was booked in with Tom Flanagan - both in Oddfellows. I got a trad ship on my shin and a mandala on my foot (a Tom Flanagan staple). I have to sat, the foot was horrendously sore and not gonna go through it again any time soon! We had a great time in Oddfellows, Tom is a great guy and the other lads in the shop made us feel right at home. And the next morning. Swelling on the foot wasn't actually too bad Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

  8. The next weekend I was in Boston and in a very hungover and jet lagged state, I landed into Redemption in Cambridge to get a little piece done to fill in an awkward gap on my left sleeve. Very luckily, Todd Noble (who I love) had a free spot to take the walk in. After some deliberation he drew on this little snake head. Again, not a great snap... Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

  11. Personally, I would never go to an artist that told me they did not like to do whatever image I was getting. I would research an artist that is Christian and liking whatever imagery I was getting on myself. Or else I would feel it was bad mojo.

  13. Sometimes there is a taboo about one artist finishing another's work. This tends to apply more to having someone colour a tattoo that was outlined by someone else. Even this gets done if the reasoning behind the switch is sensible. If you have complete work and just want to get more added in blank spots there should be nothing holding you back. Find someone who is stoked to do the tattoos you want, that's how you'll get the best quality work. Enjoy what you got from the first artist, keep your coments about them discreet as you have and keep us posted on what you add.

  14. Let's break this down for a sec. You recieved work that you were happy with from said tattooer. You've reached out explaining that you would like to pay this person to do more work in the same subject matter. This person barely responds to you and doesn't want to do more Christian imagery that you want on your arm. Am i correct? Why the f*ck do you feel like you need to stick with this person who clearly is not interested? Find someone else and don't think twice about it. But stick around, let us know where you're from and we'll help direct you to someone great and less of a diva in what they will or will not tattoo.

  16. So, I've had a busy couple of weeks tattoo-wise. First, Paul Aherne in Dublin started extending me 3/4 sleeve on my right arm down to the wrist. Got the lining of the koi, water and peony done as well as the wind bars in. Paul is guesting in Salon Serpent in Amsterdam coming up to Christmas so will get the bottom portion finished in early Jan. Then we'll look at relining the old sleeve, touching up the wind bars and just general tidying up the shitty parts (of which there are plebty!). Apologies for the bad pics... I'm finally taking the plunge, giving in to the art and getting my back piece. Face it, I will never see this art. I will see reflections, photos and glimpses over my shoulder, but I will never see the whole piece as it was intended to be viewed. Ever. Based on some old Huck Spaulding flash, I need this winged tiger. I have given my artist (Iambillyhill.com) free reign to do as he wishes. "Alan, we'll use this as a starting point and then I'm going to Billy Hill the fuck out of it!" We do the outline today. T minus two hours and counting.

  19. haven't been on here in a while. I enjoyed seeing all the great work everyone has gotten recently! Had an appt with Chad Koeplinger on 11/14. I thought I was in for one more painful, albeit short, back appt for some touch ups in case he felt they were needed. After taking a look at my healed back, he said some very wonderful words "rob, I think we are done". I emphatically replied back, "thank GOD!" So, I had him do some filler on my wrist. He tattooed a flail and a fly and I am absolutely loving them both. I really enjoyed getting these, but I will admit, the ball of the flail, on the inside of my wrist was a bit more painful than I would have thought. Felt like it was sending electric shocks into my hand! Still, easier than the back for sure! Included a pic of my healed back, and a photo off of Chad's instagram of myself and a seemingly GIANT Andrew Stortz . Andrew's back piece is insanely good.

  20. This is a bit of a joint effort. The Dagger, Collar, Angel and Reaper (2-6 weeks old) are by Fergus Simms - Melbourne Tattoo Company, and the Eagle Snake fight (2.5 months old) is by Jess Swaffer - Chapel Tattoo. Wanted to wait until the whole spot was done before i posted them up! Super happy with them, and two of the nicest tattoo experiences (bar the pain!) I've ever had.

  21. NYS has successfully postponed the law that would force tattooers to use single-use "ink-shots." https://www.change.org/p/andrew-cuomo-david-carlucci-kenneth-zebrowski-new-york-state-department-of-health-change-nys-bill-s1421-2015-to-allow-the-use-of-disposable-ink-caps-in-tattooing/u/14481534?tk=BgSlyLPy2fyPrm01Hv1IPN4iDS5bpUU16wKuwP91sHA&utm_source=petition_update&utm_medium=email Not sure if that link works for others, as it was a hotlink in an email that I got from change.org Basically, it got postponed, but there is a new bill being written that may be very similar to the one that was postponed.

  22. Im in the process of restoring this footage- originally shot on 8mm film in the 1970s, converted to VHS in the 80s where this rip comes from. Doing me best to color correct it, but the VHS is suffering digital rot. Shot at Ken Myers Kissimmee shop.
