This happened Saturday: Went to see Delphine and Laurent in London, it was intense but completely amazing at the same time, those guys are the best! 12h in the shop, around 7h of actual tattooing simultaneously on both knees, ill admit it was rough. It was such a great experience though so we decided im just going to let them have the rest of my lower legs at least. Pic is from Laurent's instagram (https://www.instagram.com/darkbabamaina/) and theres a bunch more on Delphine's https://www.instagram.com/delphinenoiztoy/10 points -

Haha, I had Chad do one of my inner biceps because I wanted to get that spot over with as soon as possible, not realizing he's heavy handed and will do an entire huge line in one go. Hurt like the dickens. At least I got the pain over with ASAP. Nice back!3 points -
Woot! First tattoo had been got! Very satisfied with how it turned out, though I forgot to take pics before bandaging it up. I still kinda feel like I was overcharged $300, and I tipped $40) but I liked the artist and think he did a good job. Though there were a couple awkward moments, like when I was asking if it was possible to get an idea of how it would be shaded ahead of time. I mean, I felt super-awkward in general, as a first-timer, but it was a good experience. He also seemed surprised that I tipped. Edit: here it is! haven't been on here in a while. I enjoyed seeing all the great work everyone has gotten recently! Had an appt with Chad Koeplinger on 11/14. I thought I was in for one more painful, albeit short, back appt for some touch ups in case he felt they were needed. After taking a look at my healed back, he said some very wonderful words "rob, I think we are done". I emphatically replied back, "thank GOD!" So, I had him do some filler on my wrist. He tattooed a flail and a fly and I am absolutely loving them both. I really enjoyed getting these, but I will admit, the ball of the flail, on the inside of my wrist was a bit more painful than I would have thought. Felt like it was sending electric shocks into my hand! Still, easier than the back for sure! Included a pic of my healed back, and a photo off of Chad's instagram of myself and a seemingly GIANT Andrew Stortz . Andrew's back piece is insanely good.3 points

@bongsau you know what though - i answer every question about the meaning of my tattoos the same - "no meaning - just for fun" - most people need to hear that at least twice before they accept that - now - its not true completely - because i think every tattoo has some meaning - even if its in the loosest sense of the word - we're attracted to the image - to the moment maybe - like my friday the 13th tattoos i got recently - to me they represent the absolute joy of sometimes just being impulsive and spontaneous and being in a super fun moment - anyway - many of my tattoos have some deep meaning - does the meaning surpass my attraction to the image or the concept - probably not - but its there - anyway - enjoy your tattoo1 point -

...so my Mom decides to clean my room one day when I was living at home. She was flipping all the mattresses in the house. And she finds this ziplock back of epsom salts. So when I get home I find Mom sitting quietly and anxiously tells me to sit down we need to talk. She says she found something under my bed ... I'm like oh shit mom just found my best porno mag. Then she asks me if I was on drugs. I'm like Mom!?! WTF!?! Well I guess dear old Mom was really upset and concerned all afternoon, thinking i had started a cocaine habit !! So I had to come clean and tell her they were epsom salts for soaking my fresh nipple piercings LOL. That ended the conversation right there, she didn't want to hear about lol. She didn't find the dirty magazine stash...yet...that's a different story and my younger brothers fault. ok not about my first tattoo, but about my first piercings RIP Mom <31 point -

@marley mission I normally like what you post. Your posts are intelligent, well-considered, and come from experience, and I especially like your attitude about how tattoos are permanent parts of our bodies, for better or for worse, and that we should live with them instead of seeking to cover them up, laser them, or otherwise modify them. But this time I can't stand by nodding my head in agreement with you. A self-loathing pizza monster? He's made of pizza, what is there to loathe? Furthermore, you live in New Jersey where even the worst pizza is going to be pretty good by most people's standards. So again, why the self-loathing? Did you get a tattoo of a gluten-free vegan slice? Because if so, my friend, you got a bum tattoo.1 point

I figured it was time to contribute! I've really enjoyed all your pics/post the last couple years...good stuff. This is my mountain goat piece. I'm into it 60 of estimated 70hrs but who we kidding...I'll keep going. I've been flying down to Guru Tattoo in San Diego from the Pacific Northwest every other month since March. The artist is Aaron Della Vedova. I've been doing two 6 hour sessions each visit accompanied by a miserable flight home. I had an existing shoulder piece/mountain scene that he tied into. I'm heading down next week for another beating. This is where I'm at so far...1 point
