  5. not in favor of thickening the outline i think that all tattoos have imperfections if you look closely enough at any tattoo you might see hiccups like a little ink migration or drop out, etc but - i think once the dust settles on this one you'll be happy

  6. pretty excited to have booked appointments for my GF and myself to have quite a bit of chair time with Freddy Corbin. This dude is such a standup guy. He answers my email, calls, etc... within hours. I have messaged many of the harder to schedule artist and have never heard from them in 2 years. Living in Portland, I am hoping to make one trip from Portland to Oakland, then going to my hometown and having Tim Hendricks due a piece all in the same weekend. But for now, Freddy is a lock.

  7. Hi all, seems like every time I'm on here it's to seek advice on a tattooer! Anyway, looks like I may be in Boston next summer for a few months and may well be there for a weekend before Christmas. Any recommendations on a good shop/artists in the city? Forrest Cavacco is in Plymouth I think? Is that far away from Boston?

eh EH Ash, welcome not a silly question or idea i've got lots of multiples: -birds: 2 cranes, 1 eagle, 1 falcon, 1 headless owl, 1 dove + 3 background bird shadows - 3 monkeys - 3 snakes - 2 dragons (well 3 if you count the fine detail on my back, 4 if you count an upcoming surprise) - 2 Saints + 1 monk - bunch of bugs I'd get more scorpions ! the best part of tattoos is you can get whatever you want tattooing is yours and what you make of it. so enjoy !

Just went to the shop last night to get measured for my new tattoo that will be done on Tuesday. I am super excited. All of my current tattoos are traditional, and that will never change. So I will try to explain this. Its going to be a heart about the size of an adults palm with a ribbon through the center that says MOTHER. Above and below the heart will each have a Sailor Jerry Sparrow. Then around the heart will be some roses/daisies. All full colors. Excited. Also a bit nervous as this will be my longest chair time. He said about 5 hours. It is the whole back half of my forearm.

  12. Sure. That's a decision the wearer and the artist can make. My point is there will be options even if it is some blowout- which none of us think it is anyway.

Welcome! Check out some of Mike Rubendall's work. Unfortunately he books around 2 years out, and he just opened his scheduling a few weeks back for 2016-2017, but all the work I've seen from the guys in his shop is great. King's Avenue Tattoo (they have a shop on the Bowery, and one on LI)

Hi Ash, Welcome aboard. I think you'll find that many of us have multiple versions of subjects. I have a few different roses, a couple of matching swallows, several stars, a few skulls, and probably more that I've forgotten. A friend of mine has a sleeve of different hawks. Some good advice: work on it with a good artist - placement is going to matter when you start getting multiples. Have fun - I wish I could go back and start again, not because I regret anything I've done, it's just that the process was so great.

  20. Aww, I want the backs of my shoulders tattooed. It's not good to hear that those are some of the most painful places! I just did a partial chest tattoo and can agree that the sternum area is a hard one. I rank it as second worst behind lower back and slightly ahead of inner thigh. The pain on the sternum is compounded by the pressure from the artist making it hard to breathe while the artist is actually tattooing.

OK, how cool is this? Waylon sent this email last night: I am really excited about the Tattoo you are allowing me to give you. This email is to let you know that I have drawn more than what you've asked. Mostly because you seem very serious about wanting great tattoos and because I like giving everything I have when given the opportunity. I badly want to send you a picture of your design but feel the wait til Saturday is better for me so that I can see the look on your face. I have drawn it with some background and an extra surprise that I'm sure you will love. Can not wait til saturday.

  23. First session from my long and humbling journey with Horitomo, in August. Ignorantly assumed that I'd be able to schedule within 90 days and was sadly mistaken. Won't have my next appointment until July. It's probably for the better, I needed to pump the brakes.

  24. I waited a few years before getting my R.O.A, I knew I wanted Brad to do it, and it fills a large space on the back of my arm... Done by Bradley Tompkins at Frith Street, not the best picture as tattoo wraps quite a lot.
