today i got my first session done for my lion chest piece. I love it so far. Probable gonna introduce a slight bit of color and the lion manes are going to get shaded in darker. I gotta say, i have 2 full arm sleeves but the chest was by far more painful. Definitely no walk in the park. I was literately dizzy after 4 hours of tattooing and felt so burned out i could drop on the floor to sleep. Il be glad when this piece is done. [/img]

In a couple of years, he can get that covered up with "PANTHER".

Im in the process of restoring this footage- originally shot on 8mm film in the 1970s, converted to VHS in the 80s where this rip comes from. Doing me best to color correct it, but the VHS is suffering digital rot. Shot at Ken Myers Kissimmee shop.

I MIGHT be getting one of these tomorrow. Probably just the number 13 or roman numerals. My question is: WHERE should I get it? I have pretty much my entire body available except a couple of spots on my legs. my tattoos - Imgur

i would caution with the japanese windbar, cloud background as an afterthought to filling in a traditional sleeve. it looks awesome, but I would expect a need to design with this background in mind with the initial layout and composition of trad tattoos . If you put a heavy black background around traditional tattoos that already contain a lot of black you will reduce the overall contrast and readability of the overall arm. I guess the dots can create a similar issue, too much will reduce contrast. I've also read suggestions to select one artist to do all the filler dots insteady of many, to maintain the overall consistency. i've got tattoos that blanket all the major areas. I'm filling in the holes with fun small tattoos. I've got negative around my chest bird that I would like to eventually fill in, but my tattooists have suggested NOT blacking in all in and instead leave as is or fill the centre halo part with a bright yellow to maintain contrast. the other 2 thread links are great reads... cheers

haha this thread reminds me of a conversation I had with a visiting bud a few days ago. my buddy has several stick n poke tattoos that he received from an old friend who made a name for herself internationally and has a following doing well-executed stick pokes. they are simple designs, pretty well done and it suits him. we had a good laugh though...we are from 2 different worlds of the tattoo experience...he said he really enjoys how quiet it is to get a stick poke. I was like "fuck that. I want a coil machine louder than hell, about to blow up with Ramones blaring on the stereo. That's how you get a tattoo maan !" and then i joked about how his tattoos are made by an international star and my bodysuit was made in Edmonton by a dozen people most haven't heard or care about LOL.

First session from my long and humbling journey with Horitomo, in August. Ignorantly assumed that I'd be able to schedule within 90 days and was sadly mistaken. Won't have my next appointment until July. It's probably for the better, I needed to pump the brakes.

I just finished this on my back calf, with Rob Ryan at Temple. Having him do a Divine Mother in the presence of Freddy was a bet. Friends don't understand why I'd want this as an agnostic... shrug.

I botched it, guys. I thought I picked an image that didn't have a 13 on it so I didn't even worry about it. Didn't see the 13 in the smoke til after the tattoo. And...I'm...not...new...at...this. But whatev, it's a cool tattoo. Pic shortly.
