  1. A couple of pics taken professionally at the London convention, my first professional pics taken, some girl just grabbed me and took me into a room and said strip off lol Still got two days with Victor as he is not totally happy with my back piece, not sure what he wants to do. Its for a magazine, cant remember if its skin deep or one of them. Anyhow here are some stunning shots of my superb body!

  2. Got this little beauty at the NB HubCity Tattoo con one week ago. A little hotstuff by Sailor Jerry Swallow, Canada's oldest tattooer. He was taught by Charlie Snow, who was taught by F.A Baldwin, who is arguably one of the first tattooers in Canada. He has the title of Hori from Horihide (Yes, that Horihide) and has been tattooing for over 50 years. He knew all the greats personally. Worked with Malone, Zeke, Jack, Irons, Huck, and all the others. Said Norman Collins was an asshole and Hardy was disrespectful. haha Funny thing is, the lady who wanted to get a tattoo before me didn't even know who he was and wanted to get a tribal design out of a magazine. haha

  4. Most of the outlining done today. Next appt is Christmas Eve, so will outline the underarm and then do all the shading. I don't think there will be time for color so that will be later. There is a mum at the bottom that curves around to the front of my arm, to tie in w/the mum on the opposite side. Then wind/water meet and swirl in the middle. Sadly, I am not bad assed enough to handle this becoming a full back piece. That very bottom bit of wind/water he added today was the clincher. Yikes.

  8. Thread closed - this falls under this rule: Do not start threads asking about specific tattooing equipment or techniques, LST is not here to teach anyone how to tattoo. Ask your own tattooer, the next time you are getting tattooed. Maybe they'll answer you, maybe they won't. http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/misc.php?do=vsarules

  9. Jeez from the intro I was expecting something terrible. I like it a lot. It will lighten up and settle in naturally over time. What you need to do is get more good tattoos! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    BBC (E4) Tattoo Fixers

I've only seen the first two episodes but really enjoy watching it. It isn't nearly as goofy and melodramatic as the US's Tattoo Nightmares. The artists have a great sense of humor and the junky tattoos that walk in are hilarious. I found the first season on a youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7VM7lxNafUfIWUOd2BkMRQ

    Latest tattoo lowdown.....

Mega excited that I have managed to get an appointment with Steve Byrne at the Brighton Convention next year! I'm normally not quick enough off of the mark with things like this but I was up at 5am feeding our bambino, saw his IG post and jumped on it without really thinking too much!

  15. Unfortunately I offended the artist by coming in with my list of critiques for the tattoo. He made a small touch up but it was insignificant and didn't help. Yes I looked at the stencil and I didn't like it. He made a few changes to it and I (and sorry to be redundantly negative here) but I think they made it even worse. After seeing the overwhelmingly positive feedback here on this forum I'm trying to change my mind about the tattoo. Maybe I do just need to get another one or get over it. It seems weird to me now to have one big tattoo on my back and nothing else. I'm sorry for being sort of negative about the tattoo. I like tattoos so much on everyone else but for some reason I don't like this one on myself. I appreciate the feedback! Annie - - - Updated - - - Thanks! I got it from John Von Glahn while he was working at Broken Hearts Tattoo Club, as far as I know he is still located there. I think he's a great artist and I followed him for a long time before I got the appointment. - - - Updated - - - Thank you Mark! It's good to know that other people like the way it looks.

  19. For me when i was first getting into this industry it was Dave Fox who always made me drool, everything he did just had this perfect layer of TOUGH over it, with just the right amount of exagerration

    Jaw, Meet Floor

I'm probably biased because he's a friend, but man, damn Dave Regan has been making stuff lately that makes me sit back and smile and then kicks me in the rear very hard because I feel so untalented. Also, Gordon Combs. So good. Showstoppers for sure.

I'm a sucker for a well-executed munewari, and no one does them better than Horitoshi: And my jaw hits the floor pretty much every time Brian Kaneko posts anything. Example: Same goes for Drew Flores. The head he's working on is also a nice reminder that tattoos can still be shocking:

  25. Thanks for the link! You definitely get less repetition and more customers per episode than on Tattoo Nightmares. It is a bit hard for me to understand them at times, but I'm going deaf slowly anyway.

  29. Cult you are about to find out YOU were the first vehicle for influence. It was your post on Boyer followed by drive up the road to Staunton to get inked by Tim Forbus that originally got me looking at their work. After seeing Tim's Sacred Heart and one of his Gypsy Ladyheads, I gave him a call. Since then I have been inked by him twice. He was able to blow me away with my second piece as it was the most important one I'll ever own; it contains my girls names. I told Tim I found him because of this site.
