  1. Hey guys, long time no post. I just realized I never posted my two latest because I wanted to wait until they were both healed. Not the best pics, but you get the idea. Cobra by Scott Sylvia done at Pagoda City Convention. Drawn on in 15 minutes, outlined in about an hour. Scott is the absolute best. We had originally talked about him doing all of the black in Reading then the color in the fall, but he had the time so we just powered through. It was another great experience being tattooed by him, and I can't say enough great things. Death's head moth by Oliver Peck while guesting in Philadelphia at Kadillac Mt. Airy. Another pleasure. Oliver was so down to earth and easy to talk to, just like you'd expect. He only did three or four tattoos that day, and I was lucky it happened to be the last week before school started and I could squeeze in after cross country practice (the only heavily tattooed coach in the world, I think). He checked out a ton of my tattoos and even took his shirt off to show me his stomach from Scott, his side from Rassier, and his back from Trevino. So awesome. Not the best photos, but it's what I have. Also, I was not expecting to have nearly this much pink on my legs, particularly from Scott and Oliver, but here we are.

    Upcoming Tattoos

Tomorrow I get my first tattoo at Saved in NYC with John Sultana. I'm nervous and excited! ... eeep! (I feel like I'm bragging, saying from where/whom I'm getting my tattoo, but I'm supposed to share that info, right?)

  4. Bwhahahahaha..... I'm in the same situation. I just realized that since starting to get tattooed again (after not 17-18 years) I've: -gotten approval from my wife ( a big step to the next 3 things) -gotten 11 new tattoos -gotten tattooed every month since last October (some months twice) -gotten hopelessly addicted to being tattooed :):):):) All good things really but.... I ................... MUST..................... SLOW ................. DOWN ........!

  5. Decided to post here instead of my intro thread. My first trip to Japan for 10 days. The arm was a coverup and was all done by tebori. Also started on the chest piece. And boy does it hurt! I thought I had a pretty good pain threshold. But the middle of the pecs is a different level altogether! Back to my country and I am already missing the pain though.

Booked in for a trip over to Leeds in December to continue my leg/foot with Tom Flanagan - the master of mandalas at the minute if you ask me. A mate is also coming over to get his first piece - he's booked in with Lukasz Christopher. Thank you Ryanair for your €20 return flights from Dublin! ? Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

  7. Damn people, tattooing has enough drama with all the reality show bullshit, can we just not bring that crap onto the forums? You don't like each other (or at least one of you doesn't the other), fine, I really don't care. I'm sick of it being brought up all the time. Just ignore each other. This is the best tattoo forum I've found and I don't want it to dissolve into petty fussin' and feudin'. To the OP, if you're even still around (sounds like you didn't like people saying you shouldn't take a shortcut and you ran off), this course sounds like a horrible idea. The best way to learn about tattoos is to get tattooed. Find a shop, hang out there a lot, get a lot of work done there, and maybe you'll get a foothold in the business through an apprenticeship. I can't imagine anyone would want to take on someone who started their career this way, and I think in the long run, it'll just be limiting to you. In the meantime, just work on drawing and studying tattoos. Build up a good portfolio while you're making connections and don't fuck up anyone's skin in the meantime. As for the forum rules, I don't question it. I don't really need to know all the details of the profession. Tattoos are expensive, hurt, and require a lot of time and skill. That's all I need to know as a customer. If you're going to not get tattooed just because a forum won't tell you how much so-and-so charges per hour or how much their backpiece cost, that's just pretty sad. I really think it's unnecessary.

    Latest tattoo lowdown.....

Session 1 of 2 with Brian Kaneko completed last night, leaving in a half hour for session 2! I'm nervous, have never done 2 back-to-back sessions before - and I am SUPER exhausted from sleeping like crap last night. That said, the lining and first bits of shading look phenomenal, and I can't wait to share photos!!!

  13. always hate to see threads like this originate because the OP always takes off and leave a dust storm of stuff like this behind - its well established here (on this forum) what the focus is - getting tattoos and sharing the awesomeness of it - sure there are off shoots of this general theme but i think when you see a thread like this develop the best thing to do is leave it go all forums have their uniqueness of the forbidden or taboo topics / discussion so this one is no different - i quite like it and to me there are plenty of cool folks on here just sharing all the good stuff about collecting tattoos, etc anyway - lets put this thread to bed go have some fun elsewhere on the site - and if you havent watched every interview twice - then what are you doing :)

  15. I have enough going on in my life at the moment that I'm not going to waste any effort on morons. Though if the person running the "school" mentioned by the OP suffered some unfortunate calamity that caused severe and permanent damage to his or her hands, I wouldn't be very upset about that.

  16. This forum was started by a professional tattooer, which should give you some insight into certain rules. I appreciate everyone's civil responses in this particular thread.

  17. Hate to break it to you, but that sounds like nothing more than a way for someone to get your money with no guarantees for your future. Spend your money on getting tattooed.

  23. From Saturday... Bottom of shin/top of foot Jeff Zuck @ Name Brand Saturday night, went to see Motorhead for probably the last time. Fun and sad at the same time as Lem seems every bit of his hard lived 69 years of age. I've seen them almost 20 times and this was kind of a teary goodbye for me.......

  25. My consult with Horitomo was on Wed! So fantastic - couldn't believe how fast he knocked out the dragon sketch. My first tattoo appt is Dec 26 from 2 to 7. Don't know if I can sit on the floor that long, but I know I can sit for the tattoo that long. So excited, also.

You have a good memory! Yes, My appointment with Horitomo is September 23 and I will join you in the club. They don't offer you to see a sketch until 2 days prior but I am coming in from out of town and they are closed the day before my appointment. So I won't see it until I actually go in for the tattoo. :-( But Molly said I couldn't really change anything anyway except for minor things like color, so I'm hoping he just knocks it out of the park the first try! We talked about it in some detail, and I think I know the picture I sent that will be the cat's face and expression, and my cat loved her shrimp sushi, so I know they will have considered something like the Sushi Cat print. I am getting excited!
