Not the latest, but I finally got some decent pictures of my wings and eyes from Erik Von Bartholomaus. Wraps almost all the way around, making it pretty tough to take pictures of. Sorry the first picture is sideways.3 points -

Welcome! I'm going to say that if you think you're only going to get one tattoo, but then you get an account here, that you're probably thinking wrong. So when's your next one?2 points

Last tattoo - 5 days ago. I finally finished my 2nd sleeve. Nothing cures my desire for a tattoo like getting a tattoo. I'm kind of tired of healing them. I've been working on three big projects, going almost monthly for the last several years so I'm really ready for a break.1 point

Hi everyone! I'm in Honolulu and just got my first (and likely only) tattoo yesterday. I'd been thinking about getting a tattoo for a really long time and decided that 35 is fine age to get a one. It helps that I'm getting a masters degree in library and information science and libraries are very tattoo-friendly spaces. I've been lurking on your lovely forum for awhile now, trying to soak up as much advice and wisdom I could, before I made an account. I particularly enjoyed reading about one user's experience with Jimmy Ho and the silly thread where someone coined the term "squid pants". Getting tattooed hurt a LOT (I'm a wimp when it comes to pain). Honestly, the only thing that made me sit through the session was my desire NOT to go through life with a random squiggly line tattooed on my arm. But my artist was incredible and the tattoo is more beautiful than I could have imagined. Anyhow, that's a little about me. Even though I don't plan to get another tattoo, I love reading the threads here and will continue to do so. Thanks for being so great, everybody!1 point

I'm actually pretty sure all three of us were in a sort of row at the same time, @BrianH and @Gingerninja. All in all, a very good time, and we all got killer tattoos (or progress) out of it. I like the idea of us having a shirtless staring contest....especially since I was only getting my leg tattooed.1 point -
Unsurprisingly perfect panther, @chrisnoluck. Might have to change that username now.1 point

Got some work in Saturday, but life has been crazy. Wanted to post this up. Detailed in the hair, and sank some color into the top oni. The pic makes him look very bright but the colors have cooled off nicely and now have a deep tone to them. We spoke about detailing him up more next session with either a patterned robe or doing more in the body. Either way I'm on board. EDIT: just to put it in perspective, the horns are colored white that's how red I got I always love the way the tray looks at the end when all the colors are laid out and all is said and done. I thought this concept would make a really neat print. If there is some rule about not showing these details let me know and I will remove it, but I thought it would be a fun share. Hope you guys like it, and I have 2 sessions coming up so maybe we can close in on this project.1 point -
Tegaderm/Saniderm/Tatuderm healing process
rufio reacted to UglyButProud for a topic
I've already gushed enough about the benefits of the -derm. I recently traveled and had my chest tattooed. 12 hours after the tattoo, removed the bandage, washed, air dried and applied the -derm. I was slightly concerned about putting on such a large amount across a huge area, as I'd never used that much before. I applied it excessively, meaning a lot farther from the edges of the tattoo, more than I'd done previously. My thought was- I tend to sweat on and around my chest and I didn't want to keep applying small patches on the edges to keep it on. 2 full days of walking around sightseeing etc in kinda warm, sunny weather (around 80 degrees) and the stuff worked perfectly. Drove home for 5 hours with a seat belt across my chest with little to no discomfort..... Depending on how big/packed with color the work you get is, there will always be some fluid build up under the -derm. I've mostly found this is just your bodies "healing juices" and is pretty normal. I've had some work not have any pooling fluid at all though. Here are a couple shots of my latest work after 4 days with the -derm on. I feel like my chest had slightly more fluid as some of it may have been sweat, but I'm not sure. Those images are about 6 hours before I removed the -derm. Once remove, both looked great and felt the same. On my chest, the skin high up on my shoulders (away from the tattoo) was kinda red and tender for 3-4 hours after, but no other problems. Both of the tattoos had a few smaller, thinner scabs, but nothing like if I didn't use the -derm. This stuff is game changing for me, as my skin certainly doesn't heal like It did 25 years ago. Every tattoo artist I've talked to, especially the "older" guys, say this stuff is great!1 point
