Super stoked that I finally got tattooed by Eddy Deutsche!

I feel like I'm doing a double post because I already submit my last tattoo for the February contest but I guess it would fit here too! ^^ So here it is! Done by Valerie Vargas at her shop Modern Classic Tattoo in London. So Stoked of this one, it's more awesome than I was expecting (I knew it would be massive but for me it reach the perfection!) In my opinion, if an artist has an issue with your weight, they don't deserve your business or money anyway. If they went so far as to flinch, they probably deserve a smack upside the head before you exit the building. I have seen plenty of artists post back pieces done on larger folks; I really doubt it will be a problem. I think body shaming, on either end of the spectrum, is one of the most disgusting things that people can do. Our society is so obsessed with political correctness, I don't understand why so many people think it's acceptable.

Whew. Side of knee done yesterday by Kevin Collins at Vanness & Fellows in Raleigh. I can't say enough about Kevin, Mark, and AJ. One of the nicest tattoo experiences I have ever had.

Thanks @Patrick Bateman! Day 2 with Emily done, and boy am I so very glad that is over. Was quite a mental challenge today, the left side of my body seems to be more sensitive than the right, and I stupidly saved the left thigh till the second day. Here is the tiger, and I stitched both pics together so you get an idea how they look together. No photos of the horse today as she is swollen and distorted.

I love this contest. Have been to busy looking at amazing stuff, but now i figured it´s time to show something off. This is my backpiece by my favourite Norwegian tattooer, Marius Meyer.

My latest and greatest tattoo on my left knee, Had a very personal battle getting this one almost tapped a couple of times. Artist is WT Norbert so stoked to have him working just down the road from my place

Have fun with it - my first was Baltimore, where I wandered around looking at portfolios and talking to artists. If they aren't working, people will talk with you about ideas. That's where I found my guy - I'd been looking for someone and just talking with someone in person helped me feel like he could do the job and was interested in it. i didn't get tattooed that day, but I could have. There is the off chance that I will go to this convention. I will be in the area on Sunday with perhaps nothing to do.

I've never been to a convention, but I'm looking forward to going to the Baltimore convention this spring. I live in the area, so it'll be very easy to drop in whenever. I'm definitely trying to get a walk up if possible as well.

I think this is absolutely beautiful!!

If you're lying on your side and being blasted, it's amazing how just placing a pillow between your thighs can help. Total comfort is necessary for long & painful sittings.

@SeeSea, She is doing better. She is now almost back to normal. She is barking and playing. The wound is healing well, At least we think so :) Vet appointment coming up pretty soon. Thanks for asking!

@SStu I think you are probably right on that one. Thanks @graybones. I remember reading a comment on here a while back, and it was along the lines of feeling that their tattoos are cooler than they are. That sums up my feelings perfectly with these ones. @omeletta I've got 4 from Emily now. I really hope one day you can get something from her, she is such a lovely and humble lady.

had a 6 hour session on my left ribs last night - i'll get up a pic once its healed up the pain was mind blowing - exhausting session both physically and mentally even today i was still wiped much credito to you guys banging out 8 and 9 hour sessions getting full backs, etc anyway...

I've been in a relationship with one woman who had a single tattoo (quite big skull wearing a crown, and snake or dagger, on her lower leg) and I've been with some women who really liked my tattoos a lot (fascination, more or less of sexual nature) and wanted to talk about them and about how they percieved me because of them, that it was a turn of for them and so on. Honestly, I don't care for being some object of fetishism for a person that I care about and who knows me well (for a one night stand it can be a fun game to play though) And I don't really like talking at length about (my) tattoos with people without their own, and with little understanding, taste and knowledge of the art (usually goes hand in hand) My girlfriend as of a few months back has a really good approach to it, which makes me feel very comfortable. In the meantime I've been chipping away on my backpiece and gotten four other tattoos. It took a long time before we said anything more about my tattoos than the fact that they are all over my body. She knows that tattoos are important for me (and as with anything I'm passioned about she is encouraging) but since it's not an interest we have in common we seldom speak about it. She is mildly positive towards tattoos, but has none herself (she was going to get the logo of her punk band tattooed but it's been postponed indefinitely) She likes my tattoos and she doesn't think it's a big deal whenever I talk about the next one. I can show her tattoos on instagram and I can feel that she is starting to "get it" more and more, but she is not doing it to please me, she's honest. She is also very well rounded when it comes to taste in culture in general and appriciates different art forms, I think it helps. I don't know if this was such a good explination of how tattoos sits in our relationship, but for a plainskin I must say she has an amazing attitude. As for myself, I'm turning more and more into a snob when it comes to tattoos and I would much rather be with someone with no tattoos than someone with bad tattoos. It's not often that I come across a woman with really great tattoos and a lot of coverage, but when I do see someone like that : god damn, it's hot!

Sounds more like a case of "taking chicks crap" haha If she doesn't get your thoughts about it or understand the sentimental feelings, then I don't know what to tell you. Well, maybe I do but its not my place since I don't know more than what you've shared.

This is quite an interesting topic for me. I've recently (well about 7 months) come out of a ten year relationship. During this time i had a few small tattoos. Rubbish ones that i got when i was 14 and doing it to be cool. My ex doesnt have tattoos and when he's seen my recent coverage he is disgusted by them. Which only serves to make me certain this is exactly what i want! I find tattooed and heavily tattooed guys attractive. I really love their choice to express themselves in this way and generally (not always) they have far more interesting stories to tell. So for me right now in my life i couldn't see myself with a person with no tatttoos...or someone with really bad tattoos.

I'm personally grateful for the built-in filter that my tattoos provide; I have enough now that the guys who don't like 'em mostly don't bother to approach me. Narrowing the dating pool a little isn't necessarily a bad thing--a whole category of "not good for me" I don't have to worry about! My current boyfriend has no tattoos but has seen me through about half of my collection, and has been pretty supportive of it.
