All these pics are gorgeous, and all so different. These are from Lara Scotton at Daredevil in NYC, a cover-up taken from her instagram: I haven't gotten any of mine colored in yet, but I have an appt soon :)3 points -

@SeeSea That tattoo makes me miss breathing canned air so much. And that eel is perfect. Love them.2 points -
You make a good point. You can always get a "cover-up". I am thinking of going to see Bailey Robinson. Something about the slightly muted colours he uses appeals to me for this type of design.2 points

Have questions about laser tattoo removal, ask in this thread
Kevin Whittington reacted to Mike Panic for a topic
This is an unofficial FAQ for Last Sparrow members who want to know more about laser tattoo removal. I've been doing this for 2 years now and feel I have some authority on the subject. I will not be giving industry specific information out but will do my best to answer your questions. I feel this is needed due to the total lack of real answers for people who collect tattoos. There are sites like realself.com but that demographic doesn't match everyone here. Furthermore, 80% of my clients are referrals from tattoo shops, due to the strong relationships I've been able to build over the last 2 years with them. As questions get asked and answered I'll update the this first post so new readers won't have to scroll through pages upon pages of content / risk the possibility of asking & answering the same questions over and over. So, fire away!1 point -
I made a little video
havetsherre reacted to Iwar for a topic
Marius Meyer was kind enough to let me shoot some video while he put the finishing touches on my friend @Wilhell's back piece. Hope you enjoy it! (Sorry German LSTers! This unfortunately won't play in your country due to the licensing restrictions of the soundtrack)1 point -
Thank you - I love my guy - smiling with teeth. Swoons! So, you DO know you can rent some of that stale canned air and get the fins wet...although it's a tad cold up your way! Where did you dive? Thanks. This one put my head in a good place. I'm gonna knock out another 2 sessions in the next 3 weeks. I *really* want this done by early next year.1 point

Thread for posting while getting tattooed
Joey Ryan reacted to Mick Weder for a topic
It's 0530 here, just woken and I find myself coming here to LST to help me get in the frame for the day. The usual routine begins. 0630 extra sweet coffee. 0700 long warm shower. 0745 pack a cooler bag with 6X stubbies of Coopers Pale Ale & Mercury Cider. 0800 hit McDonalds for an English breakfast wrap meal/ small orange juice. 0830 hit the road churning out some Tattooed Mother Fuckers on the stereo. 0915 arrive at destination, tattooer and I close the door to the private room and begin the morning by filling the room with smoke, exchange a few laughs and sharing a couple of stubbies. 1030 in the zone for today's neck slam. Today, should be done by 1300, home by 1400, hot shower/ cider post tattoo aftercare. Happy days. Filling the shark with background today, smoke, flames and lightning.1 point -

2014 London Tattoo Convention
joakim urma reacted to OutOfIdeas for a topic
Exactly. I was just reading the tattoo book thread, and googled all the ones recommended for a good starter collection. I was strongly tempted to order a bunch of books, until I realized that money was for actual tattoos. Stick to the plan indeed.1 point -

@CABS In no particular order my top five NYC shops would be: Kings Ave, NY Adorned, Greenpoint, Invisible, and (even though it is not in New York) Electric in Jersey. I would also include Saved, Funcity, Flyrite, Northstar, and Three Kings in the mix. As I write this I'm not sure that Smith Street even makes my top ten.1 point -

Go with the bare breasts, because if you decide you don't want them you can cover them up, but you can't go the other way. Who are you planning on getting it from?1 point

@CABS where there is a will there is a way. My experience and probably also with @Hospitelli and @BrianH is that he is more accessible than one might think. But I probably shouldn't say that. Because I want all the appointments.1 point -

Curious, what are your top five in NYC? Totally! So many people I would love to get tattooed by that I haven't even had the chance to visit yet. Not to mention with the SFO convention coming up, so many tattooers there as well. Tough life. Hell yeah, bud. In other news, I'm getting tattooed by Carolyn at FTW. I have no idea how to do the "mention" on here. @cltattooing. Nevermind, it does it automatically.1 point -
@Iwar the white pigment most of the horitoshi family uses is made by Dr.Claw (Matt) at Diamond Club. The company name is el Blanco ink. Junii and Bill are part of the family hence there access. You can almost always tell who is horitoshi family by their peonies1 point

Wow, great day today... I think this year's line-up lives up to the hype. Saw Ed Hardy just chilling but I didn't want to bother him. Freddy Corbin was floating around and tattooing, cool to see him in the flesh after loving the Vice episode on him. I got tattooed until evening by Tomo and made a bit more progress on my front. Next year will see it finished (kind of sad about that, the Yellow Blaze experience is kind of sweet, sad to call it a day in some ways). Most importantly I met @jade1955 and @Jade1959 ... Nice to shake hands and say 'hi'. And now I'm drinking a nice Brewdog 5AM Saint...1 point

This is true. My mate, it's now been 6 years. We have become such close friends that we have acknowledged it will never end. I only have a little fill to complete back of neck (this w end), some colour fill on the butt cheek & upper thigh. Now only the feet to design and fill. Our regular visits will continue, our Sunday morning cider and beer tasting sessions, the presence of like minded people going through the same experience of suiting out...and by going on your advice @SeeSea, we can still enjoy doing some relining, punching some more black over black for good times. For me, it's not the end, just a new chapter in a lifelong friendship.1 point -
I had to edit out all the crying and squirming. Didn't go so well with the rockin' soundtrack ;) Nah, Wilhelm is tough as nails! He sits better than anyone I know, present company included. The man got a one shot Kirin tattoo across his belly and ribs for christ sake. Who the hell does that?1 point

@ThatGuy - I love when I gawk at awesome shit on IG and then find out it's on a poster! Totally worth the nausea. :) I am not sure if I ever posted my completed back on here. Done by Stephanie Tamez at Saved in Brooklyn, from summer 2012 to summer 2013. I loved the journey and love the tattoo(s?) and it feels like it's been on my back forever. The map was my first ever tattoo from a long long time ago that we worked around, although she pumped it up a bit to integrate it into the larger composition.1 point
