I suggest an eagle fighting a post asking about what you should get as a tattoo because that kind of thing is personal and shouldn't be decided by group consensus. Trust me, it'll look super cool.

@ThatGuy I know what you are going through. For a long time all my old less good ink was easily covered by short sleeves and shorts. I was happy that it could all be covered. I had an epiphany and realised that why am I not getting what I want due to what I think others might think. So fast forward 2 years and I now have 3/4 sleeves and chest pieces and in the process of doing backpiece and plans to keep going. I still however have no plans to do neck/hands etc as I myself want the ability to cover it all if I want to and that is entirely my choice. I was as nervous as hell at 1st having art that is shown in my normal day to day clothing but now I can safely say it is not that a big deal. Some say they don't like it (mainly only parents) but everyone else either doesn't care or you great great comments on your great artwork. On a whole I can say having visible work has been positive for me and I wish I didnt wait so long to do what I wanted. Long story short. Do what you want, dont let others dictate where and what you want. Dont get hung up on visible work and what others think as from my experience it wont be as bad as you expect. Even my mother which is possibly the main disliker of my visible work has made the comment while out for lunch "yours are much better than those" in reference to some mediocore work on others. May not have answered your question but my thoughts are do what you want and where you want. From my experience visible tattoos are not that big a deal. Cheers.

Save your neck and hands for last (or nearly last). Other than that, go with what feels right. I'm like you, I'm leaving my lower arms empty for now due to the t-shirt issue. I do enough with people who may not be fully comfortable with tattoos to leave them until the rest of me is well covered.

Agree with @Graeme and @Mark Bee. You could also let it all marinate for a while, eventually you'll think of something you'd like to put there. If you MUST have it filled, ASAP, talk with an artist.

Thou shalt not argue that thou's drawing on a piece of paper makes for a better tattoo than a (LST recommended) tattoo artist's rendition of the tattoo, especially when thou hath no tattoos.

i remember the feeling i had on my first session of my back when the machine started up and then cut into me for the first couple of lines. i thought, this is completely retarded. i'm never even going to see this thing..

The alternative--not getting a backpiece--is just silly.

For me, I'm all about balance. I'm slowing chipping away at all my limbs. I couldn't have one limb completely filled while the others are blank. I think the last spot I'll ever have are those weird inner thigh spots.

I saw a tattoo being removed in a Navy hospital once "the old fashioned way" by dermabrasion with a rock salt paste. The poor guy had blood pouring down his arm (the tattoo had been on his shoulder). A corpsman was making a paste of rock salt and some fluid (saline, probably), applying it with a gauze pad and then scrubbing off layers of skin with it. They said it would take 3 to 10 sessions to fully remove it. Of course it left scarring. An old chief was standing over them threatening the sailor if he let out a whimper. One of the reasons I waited until I was almost 62 to get my first tattoo!

Ya just need to do a culling from time to time. My FB has NO work colleagues, no people I have just met the night before, no friend of a friend request & no family members. It's kept solely for a close knit group of people to communicate and organise stuff. Bullshit postings & a shooting the mouth off gets an instant delete or block. Hence, I don't have 1500 "friends".

I read it under the impression that I couldn't zoom in but then I just went to check whether using my browsers zoom feature would work and found that you can just... click and zoom in a bit

I knew I wanted my arms covered from the beginning, I kept filling spaces on my right arm since I was toying with the idea of something more cohesive on the left (still undecided on that, really like the piecemeal look but there's definitely something to be said about a whole sleeve). I was apprehensive about going below the elbow at first but I knew it would be done eventually, plus a tshirt wouldn't fully cover anything on my bicep anyways, so I just said fuck it and kept going. The lowest point is about an inch away from my hand now and it's all coming together quite nicely, I got some shirts for work with extra long sleeves and go on my merry way. I know it can feel like a huge step to go beyond the elbow but it's a hurdle I'm glad I came over, maybe I jumped in a little sooner than I should have but it felt right and I'm glad I did it.

Not one dagger, rose, panther, snake, or eagle on that first page. PASS

Just moved into a condo in Calgary with my girlfriend so I'd say I now live in Canada rather than just work here, and Todd noble just announced on Instagram that he's doing the Calgary tattoo and arts festival, so kind of feels like that was ment to be haha

Dave who is doing my back, and incidentally has some really incredible Roper tattoos himself, has a pretty similar story about his back, but he got his done by Trevino and would make trips down to Austin to have multiple day sessions. I guess if that's what it takes to get the tattoo you want, that's what it takes, but I too feel lucky that I'm able to get the backpiece I want without any crazy travel. I'm only one session in but I'm already willing to say that getting a backpiece is a really humbling experience. @hogg This is 100% true.

I kind of love the @shitsluts IG. Bad tattoos are so sad.

@Baroni88 it depends on who your tattooer is, depending on the size a rad lion head could take anywhere between an hour and five, or maybe more when you factor in any number of variables.

Cash was definitely king since the ATM in the hotel lobby ran out of money on Saturday afternoon. I went up yesterday with @huggernaut. Neither of us were getting tattooed, but a few friends were. It was a great time. It was reallllly small, especially compared to the conventions I'd been to in the past, but that worked to its advantage. So many heavy hitters all in one room putting down serious work. The Kings Avenue booth was packed to the gills in the middle row and everything I saw them put out was dope. A back wall was lined by Ron Wells, Chad Koeplinger, Steve Byrne, Tony Hundahl, Marina Inoue, and a few from Inksmith and Rodgers (among others). I had friends get tattooed by Ron, Grez, Chris Stuart, and others. I had won $100 from their IG contest, so Justin was nice enough to know who I was coming in, catch me, and get that all situated. Since my appt with Scott fell through, I spent it on the With The Light of Truth book and a shirt at King's Ave. And some cookies at Vegan Treats! All in all, the convention was great, and I hope it becomes a regular thing! I saw @chrisnoluck's tattoo in the other thread. Did anyone else go? Thoughts?

Okay....you seem to be getting good tattoos by solid artists........ BUT.......slow down!!! I know.... "You won't give a shit what they look like when you are 50".....at least that's what I hear all the time.......but I promise you when you are 40 you will care! ;) I just am trying to pass some important advice on to you and like a lot you probably aren't going to listen BUT tattoos do age and if you take care of them and yourself then they age well! Just be smart please??? You are lucky.....most young ladies your age don't start off getting quality work! You're heading in the right direction......just slow down.....and be smart babe! @petiloi and @beez, such great work on both of you! I love Diamond Club. I was lucky enough to see Bill and Junii yesterday at the Japanese National Museum in Los Angeles. I also got this in LA from Horisuzu: Perfect fit. I'm so happy with it.

@beez Speaking as somebody who recently acquired a butt snake of my own, BUTT SNAKES FOREVER! Also, you're completely nuts for getting tattooed three days on a single trip. @Eilin That is superb! I love it!

I believe they mostly are referring to the bogarting of their own photos, which in turn get reblogged and spread to every Tumblr without proper credit given to them.

weve talked..i hate the yelp, i dont agree with the way they conduct business, or try to strong arm businesses into advertising with them. I hate that if people have an issue with me or anyone who works with me they cant take it up with me, but they can go bitch and moan about it on yelp and i have no recourse. Ive had a bad review from a lady who thought she paid too much for her tattoo weeks after getting it. Said the tattoo was fine but after thinking about it she thought she paid too much..whatever..its a societal issue, the last generation of people are a bunch a whiners and complainers who take no responsibilty for their actions and they are constantly trying to shift the blame onto someone else for them being pussys.. but unfortunately we have to play ball ive said too much i might get another bad review
