  1. Just some leg filler... but I like it. Daughter's initials. Done by Sukre One at Superfly Tattoo, Leon Mexico.

  2. The alternative--not getting a backpiece--is just silly.

    What can I add?

I suggest an eagle fighting a post asking about what you should get as a tattoo because that kind of thing is personal and shouldn't be decided by group consensus. Trust me, it'll look super cool.

  5. Soooo, I was trying to take an all-things-tattoo-hiatus until October but the boys were getting tattooed so I thought "Oh, I'll just get a little gap filler from Paul" (like I did the previous day with Bryan Randolph)...and this happened. No really, I can stop whenever I want... Paul Anthony Dobleman - Spider Murphy's Tattoo, San Rafael, CA

  11. Thou shalt not argue that thou's drawing on a piece of paper makes for a better tattoo than a (LST recommended) tattoo artist's rendition of the tattoo, especially when thou hath no tattoos.

  12. Dave who is doing my back, and incidentally has some really incredible Roper tattoos himself, has a pretty similar story about his back, but he got his done by Trevino and would make trips down to Austin to have multiple day sessions. I guess if that's what it takes to get the tattoo you want, that's what it takes, but I too feel lucky that I'm able to get the backpiece I want without any crazy travel. I'm only one session in but I'm already willing to say that getting a backpiece is a really humbling experience. @hogg This is 100% true.

  13. Here's a new one: one of my best friends is almost done with his backpiece, and he just texted me to say that, the day after getting his ass tattooed for 5 hours, his penis is sore and tingling. Our combined best guess: he was subconsciously trying to escape the pain, so he unwittingly smashed his junk into the table. That poor, poor table.

  14. If I may throw in my 2 cents as a newbie: If thou art new to tattoos and tattooing, thou shalt read this forum prior to joining so that thou hast a basic understanding of what it stands for. Thou shalt back down and reconsider thy position when contradicted by a forum member with greater knowledge and experience. Thou shalt be willing to learn.

  23. Ok, you folks have convinced me - I need to get a monmon from him. Maybe he would be open to doing one of my dog - I've been thinking about how to do that, anyway. Here is my textured Cardigan Welsh Corgi. I just put it in http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/gallery/member/17191-thinking-of-this-for-a-tattoo.html&imageuser=50982[/img] - can't figure out how to upload it from my computer (the little icon is greyed out - probably because I haven't posted 10 quality posts)

  24. It will naturally look like the second one. The "shiny" you're seeing is either oil or lotion on a healed tattoo, or a very recent tattoo that hasn't healed yet. Once its fully healed in 1-3 months, it will have settled in and lost the shine.

  26. I said that to Dana once. He gave me a look that was just "Get over it, dude." His back piece story pales all of ours. The guy flew out to Arizona to see Roper and underwent an insane amount of time on the table over a few days. When I used to complain about pain he just gave me that same look. I am so lucky to only have to drive 50 minutes and be able to get an appointment once a month. I don't think I'd be able to do it otherwise. At least not without heavy drug use.

  33. This is really not awesome but I hurt my foot skateboarding like 4 months ago and haven't given it enough time to heal. Every time I skate I can do it for tops 2 hours and then it hurts really bad the next 2-3 days and then I can do it again after a week. I really think the foot needs time to heal so this is no good. I decided to lay of skating for a while. Skateboarding has been a great joy and outlet for the past 12 years, kept me sane through many heartaches and stressful chapters of my life. But I will not let this get me down. To keep busy I registered for a beginners class in yoga (something I've been interested to try for years) and will also start swimming regularly in the mornings at a indoor pool close to where I live. If my foot holds of decently I also intend to get down with bouldering which seems super fun.

    Full Back Piece Thread

So solid @Shaggy That spot can get tiresome. @hogg dropped some wisdom on me that I'd like to share. Use deep breathing like you are trying to blow out candles that are 30 feet away. My abs are usually exhausted after a session of breathing like that, but it works.

  39. Social media being what it is, my mom saw a picture of the outline of my backpiece and while she wasn't as upset as I expected her to be (she doesn't like that I get tattoos, but she seems to respect that I get them because I like them), she wanted to know that this would be my last tattoo...but after a certain point what does it even matter?

  47. Thou shalt not receive the holding of hands, especially in regards to queries relating to: how to go about getting tattooed, how to contact a tattooer, how your new tattoo looks, how your imaginary tattoo looks photoshopped on a stock photo of an arm with that tattoo, and thou certainly shalt not receive a single response when thinking, maybe, out loud on the Internet about possibly -- one day -- starting on your imagined quarter-length sleeve (outside of arm only) and inquiring about the pros and cons. Thou shalt be shown the proverbial door and given the holy hand grenade.

    Obscene Tattoos

Yeah, Woody does tattoos, but he's more of a cartoonist. The interviewer isn't the only twat in the frame. So a famously publicity hungry tattooer, who's notoriously fond of gimmicks invests in a super-deluxe tattoo removal lazer. Because he had virtually no tattoos already, he tattoos deliberately inflammatory statements on himself then does a photo shoot and speaks to every interviewer who'll listen. No prizes for guessing what publicity grabbing event happens next... Yeah, this is the same tattooer who called a client and offered to tattoo the Jacko arrest photo with the words "Peado Cunt" FOR FREE. Although the client was a fool to accept the offer, he was a young student with little money who liked tattoos. Who, in that situation would refuse a funny, free tattoo? That client has since had a massive coverup of a traditional eagle. Woody also tattoos drunk metalheads for free at the UK Download festival. I'm a tattooer. Woody does tattoos. We are not doing the same thing. Irresponsible is the kindest thing I can say about his work and work ethic.
