    Upcoming Tattoos

Couldn't resist booking a little one with El Monga while I'm in Barcelona. I'm getting a frog because I really love frog tattoos, and I really love El Monga's tattoos so it's going to be super cool and fun.

Far east Norway. As well known we have some brutal winters, so the "bikeseason" is quite fragile because of unstable weather and short summerseason. So whenever there is time I take a swing on my 1955 Triumph.

    what's it mean?

I think it's rude when people ask how much did you pay..for anything. It's none of their business, and with my close group of people, it is never done...so then if it's divulged it's because the person has chosen to. For us, it's called respect. It's the same with why? questions. What the fuck do you mean why?, why? are you a Police Officer...I must insist to see your badge before answering any more questions. General respectful conversation should not consist of how much's and why's. But that's how we were brought up. On the other token, and this has been discussed through these pages recently. If a person asks me how much my tattoos cost, then they're clearly not the type of individual I feel like associating with. It ain't about the money...it goes way further than a materialistic acquirement. It shows me how shallow a person is especially when the cost of tattoos is asked. they will never understand our lifestyle, now nor would I want them to. Don't take me wrong. I'm not having a dig here. We are all taught a certain set of principles from an early age, and I do not believe that how strict I see certain things as being the pinnacle of expected behaviours. We're all very different with different expectations.

  4. Ha! First, I have to admit that "while looking between hogg's legs" is not a phrase I've heard before. Second, I have to admit that those are my wife's books. #SoIMarriedAHistorian

Excellent. Looking forward to seeing your new frog tattoo. I dig frogs too, and toads, and samurai sword wielding toads. I'll get around to posting a pic of my samurai frogs later.

    what's it mean?

The way I look at it, tattoos are not something like a car or a TV that you can find online with an advertised price. Those are consumables, whereas tattoos are on your body and they are art (IMO). For me, asking about the price of my tattoo is the same as asking me how much I earn, or what my house cost. I think it's tacky. Good tattoos aren't cheap and I'm not comfortable telling people how much I have spent on them. I've done it once and it bit me in the arse, never again.

Not as nice as those Triumphs, but I've had this '96 KZ1000 CHP bike for about 2 years now. Was my daily rider for a minute after my wife and I moved, blah blah, long story. Didn't matter that I'd always ride in my mad-max style beat-to-shit leather that I've abused for the past 10+yrs or a beat-to-shit bike, I'd still get a wide berth on the highway. Now that I've got another bike that's more reliable for daily use and without a billion miles racked up, I've been toying with turning the KZ into a project bike. Just getting a little wild, y'know? But I've got equal parts motivation and equal parts "fuck it, I'm selling it"... ...Pretty sure that means I should get some sort of massive animal-battle tattoo to represent my inner conflict, ha!

  14. Picked this up from Bryan Burk. He was a great guy, and I love the tattoo. My wife got tattooed by Adam Warmerdam, they both are both at Darkhorse in LA, and Adam was super cool as well. Darkhorse is a great place to get tattooed, and I highly recommend it to anyone that is in Los Angeles.

  17. Oh that does sound easy! I shall try that, thanks! Is that stain something available at stores like Target, Walmart etc? She's not that far away, I could probably slip over and have her to it. We're going to get more work on my husbands tattoo today so I'll actually be trying to do my hair today and can see if this is going to work or not. I am hair-styling challenged...usually I end up shaking my fists at my reflection and screeching and then pull it back in one of those teeny pinchy clips.

  18. I threw one up on my Instagram Instagram it's pretty great and one of the benefits of not teaching in the summer! - - - Updated - - - If she made a streak blonde it's super easy just to put a blue stain (which is what blue/ purple colour is) just take a piece of foil from the kitchen, pin away the hair you don't want blue, put the foil under the blonde piece and apply the stain (fudge, manic panic ect...) with a brush. Fold up the piece of foil to keep it away from your new hair and leave on for whatever they tell you and shampoo out - it will fade out eventually but it is fun!

  19. I will get on board the hair posts too. Last weekend I started the transition to blonde from my natural dark brown, with the idea of slowly lightening down to blonde over winter, ready for summer. I'm not exactly loving the caramel/honey colour at the moment, but the end result will be worth it!

    what's it mean?

Oh sorry. I wasn't trying to be unfriendly. I was still in the mindset of going off of what is the norm here stateside. Most forums I'm apart of are primarily US/Canadian so it takes me a second to remember things are different elsewhere. I also was meaning the whats so offensive more as a rhetorical question so thats why I asked what question did I ask. That was on me. I indicated your view was snobbish before I saw you were from Austrailia. Now it makes sense especially in light of the other thread I read about tipping and the fact most of my friends from the UK and Austrailia have markedly different views on things such as that than we do here.

  22. I'm with @Shaun1105 on this one. I've never used the term collector, but I don't see anything wrong with the word. It's only a word, a description & probably a description that differentuates between a person that has a tattoo & a person that spends their time being tattooed. Makes sense to me, I don't think the word requires an analytical study of its' comprehension. But yeah, I've referred to myself on the odd occasion as an enthusiast. Like, when some fkn idiot asks me...mate, why so many tattoos? I say...I don't know what you expect me to say mate, I'm an enthusiast. Yeah, I'm fuckin' enthusiastic about tattoos.

  25. The first time I got hit was over 15yrs.ago by a doctor in MD.I went to him because he was profiled in a magazine removing tattoos from Jack Rudy. The dude wouldn't give me a price over the phone,so I drove down there, and he said 450.00 It took him like 5 minutes, and he just came off like a douche Bag.I got the vibe that he didn't like tattoos, and he was rushing through the job.The other three times I went to a tattooer who did the laser.I was in NC,and was in a shop talking with the tattooer about laser, and he told me he went to a tattooer to get it done. The next day I went to Immortal Images in Charlotte, and the dude hit three tattoos in an hour for 150.00.I felt like Steve really took his time, and just felt comfortable with him.I drove back down there a second time, and got the three hit again. After the doctor,I've always been hit by a tattooer that was trained.I think the prices were much better, and I felt more comfortable getting lasered in a shop, then a doctors office.

  26. I agree. All the ones I have so far do have a specific meaning but at least my half sleeve on my left arm and eventually my right will be just artistic. I actually stumbled upon this site by accident. I had been looking for a forum like this for a while and had given up and last night I forgot what I searched for but this came up and I was like 'well awesome found what I stopped looking for by accident'

  28. Pain is really individual. My wife has pretty substantial coverage of her thighs and she's never foind it especially bad. A lot of people here hate getting their lower legs done, I've always found them really easy, but inner bicep for me was totally brutal and some people are fine with it. Bottom line is tattoos hurt, and that's partly what makes them awesome. Honestly kind of happy that I'm going to hit where the thigh connects with the ass soon so I never have to get tattooed there ever again.

May I resurrect this thread please. As posted in our awesome thread, just purchased a '78 Trumpy Tiger. The good thing is, there's plenty of new parts available for these early models. I have come across this place: Search results for: 'Triumph' The freight is very reasonable to Aus also. Has any other old Trumpy enthusiast have some additional links to purchase parts to share please? Lowbrow Customs have a few pieces I know as well. Finding a mechanic on the other hand who won't pull your pants down over the price is the other factor, but I'll work that one out. Cheers.

  30. Nothing wrong with getting tattoos that don't have some deep and meaningful and fuckin mystical meaning attached to them. Good attitude. And good attitude too that you have a general idea but will leave it in the hands of your chosen tattooer.

  31. The fingers are painful. It's a funny area the hand and fingers as some areas are alright, then a few mils across, completely different. Both my hands/ fingers were blasted solid but and we jack hammered the ink in so we wouldn't suffer drop out. Getting down towards the cuticle of the nails were excruciating and working between the webbing also a little tricky.

    Seattle Shop Tour

Was in there Sunday getting the outline of my new bird from Bryan. Cool shop, nice guys, AWESOME vibe. Sara Purr (Instagram) is also there - she's doing some really great old school traditional stuff and is new enough to Seattle that you can sometimes get a walk in with her.

  41. This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting with and hanging out with LST posters on two seperate occasions. On Friday me and @Pugilist had dinner with @eisen777 and his lovely wife, and on Saturday we had drinks with @Mark Bee and @El Dolmago. I've met a few people from here, and it's always a really good time. So far, the people here are a warm, smart, funny, easy to get along with bunch, and that I get to see some amazing tattoos in person doesn't hurt a bit.

Really sorry @SeeSee, we had to call time on our first dog Samson and it's a horrible surreal experience . Having healthy pets really reinforces to us how anything should live and as hard as it was we / you did the right thing . Anyway here's a couple of pics of our lads firstly on holiday in Blue Anchor beach and secondly blue steel Butch looking G.Q. smooth .
