Since Horitomo posted my arms on Instagram I thought I should share them here. All shading is done. Next session color begins!

New piece I had done today by Jason Butcher :) Jasons a really intelligent guy, witty and real chatty. Lovely bloke! 8 hours in total but I have to go back in 3 weeks for the highlights :)

Heading in today to get a new tattoo. I was originally going to work on my back today, but since its rather sore after wrenching it on Friday, I think we are going to work on my leg instead. I'll get back to the back in a few weeks.

Another option is to layer a new tattoo on top of it that doesn't completely cover the tattoo below. I could see this working nicely for a dotwork style. Example of what I mean: Instagram

I'm using Saniderm on the large rose I got on my lower leg 2 days ago. I'm not feeling the excruciating pain my calf kitsune lead me to expect from leg tattoos. Yesterday I felt some pain when I stood up, but not to the same degree. Today, the pain isn't there, only some tingling. I think this is because the Saniderm prevents scabs from forming, and the scab is the major source of the pain. Usually I forget the tattoo is even there. I'll update as it heals more.

I'm on the same plan. I work in corporate too. The fact that I know I'll be in long sleeves for awhile, means that I keep booking more and more appointments to get covered. Going iiiiiiiiiin!!

I usually can't sleep solidly but I'm good-and-tired for that long. It depends on how well I hydrated and when we finish. He only works after hours so we don't finish until the very wee hours. I get maybe 5-6 hours and then kinda tired the rest of the next day. But sleep is good - take all you can get! Maybe you were fighting off something? Do all that Vitamin-C stuff.

Have any of you seen the documentary G-DOG? It's about an amazing man, Father Greg Boyle, who helps men and women get out of gangs and turn their lives around. He runs an organization in L.A. called Homeboy Industries. They have rehab services, a cafe and a bakery that employs the ex gang members, and they have free laser tattoo removal for gang related tattoos or tattoos holding them back from getting work. It's really good. One of our good friends works there.

This is a healed shot of my somewhat Ed Hardy inspired gorilla rose situation, tattooed by Chad Koeplinger. An hour and a half to outline and do most of the black. Three hours to finish. Two fun sessions!

Old tattoos are way cooler than liver spots and varicose veins is my usual response to that question.

Little work to tidy up around the neck line next week, just some black fill, clouds & lightning bolts then on to finishing the hammer head shark taking up one side of the butt cheek. Outline is in, time to smash the colour. Not looking forward to that recovery, plus it's getting cold here. Man, I hate being tattooed in the winter.

To further move off topic: pretty well, apparently, for their intended audience - I haven't reread them, but I ordered a bunch of them the other day for a kid who'd gotten hooked. They still seem to attract and speak to readers beyond The Outsiders being assigned in school.

I'm the same.. i've got a huge space on my right arm that i'm saving hopefully to get out to Texas and get tattooed by Steve Byrne.. On the whole i'm just getting stuff i want and not worrying about how shitty/not shitty it is.. after all the pain is temporary but the tattoo is permanent :)

Don't worry about why other people get tattoos. If you are looking for something that also has a "show piece" aspect, then recognize that you are asking to be judged by people. You are placing part of your self-worth into other people's reactions. If you choose something that is not timeless, then you risk people's opinions/judgements of the piece changing in negative ways over time. Are you ok with this? For example, trending bands and TV shows. What might seem all, "Whoa, cool dude" could easily end up being, "oh, yeah, whatever" years down the line. Can you accept that the show piece may no longer have the impact? Yes, a tattoo will fade. If you want to keep it looking as good as possible for as long as possible, commit to wearing shirts more often and investing in ton of sunscreen.

The opposite. Always have a shitfull sleep.

Anyone else get REALLY tired after a tattoo? I just slept most of the past 12 hours and I'm still exhausted.

I say this now that the weather is pleasant, but I would rather endure a Montreal winter than a Montreal summer. I can't do the heat and humidity. And to make this summer even less pleasant, I start my back in July.

Well, I decided to go with my gut and go for it in black and gray. My first purely black & gray piece, can't wait! Thanks for the reassurance @misterJ @Ditch Belgium. Mr. Yoni Zilber will be doing the tiger in Asheville, NC at the end of June - will update with pics and stuff.

Every time I see someone with huge swaths of black, I always wonder what it is they are covering up. How bad was it? If you are happy with having a large blacked out section, then go for it. Probably the best advice though, is to go into a good shop (people here can point you in the right direction - I live in Canada, and my knowledge of Utah shops is slim to none, or I would suggest a place.) and ask a tattoo artist for advice. If you post a pic of the tattoo in question, you might get some more detailed feedback.

To me it makes no difference. I will like tattoos whether they are trendy or not, whether there are shows about them or not. I also don't really care whether people are getting them "for the right reasons" or not. Are there right reasons and wrong reasons? Maybe to each person it's different. We live, we die, we get tattoos...or not. I'm having a live and let live moment, sorry to interrupt the bitch session. :D

do not get superman, 103( if you continue to compete your class will likely change) or eagle wings (why leave out the badass eagle?). get an eagle on your belly would be cool again tell us where you are we will be glad to help you. ALL JMO

My Kim Saigh arm is healed. Why is it so hard to get good pics? There are 5 shots here and still no full view of the inner bicep rose. Oh well. Good enough!

No worries. And hey... after a long hiatus... I finally bought a NEW macbook (pro!) with a 500gb hard drive. So. I can finally convert video again. (My macbook had 2gb of open space) I have more Zeke Owen coming this week....

I'm already an old wrinkled dude covered in tattoos, I've got six kids, and all but two of them (too young) are regulars with Nick Colella. Fuck anyone that doesn't like it.
