  1. @ThatGuy - I love when I gawk at awesome shit on IG and then find out it's on a poster! Totally worth the nausea. :) I am not sure if I ever posted my completed back on here. Done by Stephanie Tamez at Saved in Brooklyn, from summer 2012 to summer 2013. I loved the journey and love the tattoo(s?) and it feels like it's been on my back forever. The map was my first ever tattoo from a long long time ago that we worked around, although she pumped it up a bit to integrate it into the larger composition.

  2. Valerie finished my backpiece yesterday. Had some serious post-tattoo nausea after this one. Glad it's finally done, but will miss the process.

  3. ah, why judge her anyway? She booked an appointment not knowing the artist. So what? It's her skin. I think the wording problem was "most girls". Dunno. Don't really care. I would never buy a Louis Vuitton bag OR book an appointment in that manner, but I try not to judge others either. It is inconsequential.

  4. I know a few women who are into stereotypically "girly girl" stuff like nice handbags, clothes, shoes, nails, etc., who also get amazing tattoos. I also know women who are into those same kinds of things, but aren't into tattoos, but are still really fucking smart, awesome women. And whatever, I also know a lot of people who are super rad for thousands of different reasons and they have crappy tattoos. Judging people because of their tattoos, the things they're into, their outward appearances, etc., is for idiots. The reason why people get bothered when threads take this kind of turn is that it dumbs down the board and distracts us from what should be the main point of this forum which is about getting and having conversations about getting awesome tattoos.

  5. I find this sweeping generalisation of women offensive. The ladies on this forum are incredibly passionate and well learned about their tattoos. If you want to alienate these fantastic women, then please continue making ignorant remarks like this.

  10. Can you please tell me how to fix my obviously failing reading comprehension because I somehow didn't manage to understand that you meant one specific individual when you wrote that you find it "incredulous that most girls obsess over their hairdressers/nail salons to the point of following them like groupies from shop to shop, have their phone # in their phones and damn sure know to ask for "Ramon's" next available day. I bet you they'll drop hundreds on a Louis-Vuitton bag but will squawk of the same for a Theresa Sharpe piece." Go fuck yourself, mouthbreather.

  17. So many awesome tattoos here lately, wish my tapatalk likes would show up! I got double teamed on my feet today, Jason Walstrom did the pig while Mimi Wunsch did the rooster. Pics stolen from their IG's. Wasnt as bad as I'd thought it might be beforehand, but definately stung more in a few places than most other spots so far, a bit worse than collarbone, nowhere near as bad the rib cliff. It's gonna be a fun few healing days coming up I'm sure!

  19. If there's one LST newcomer poster that I hate, it's the one who pontificates about tattooing while never reading any of the most important threads and posts. That guy is a dick, and I really think they just don't give a shit about keeping this forum true to its original intent, which is discussion of, as @Graeme put it, getting good tattoos. It's fucking simple, people.

@misterJ I'll post pics, but a little later when its more complete. I may even wait until its finished. I'll tag you when I post something though! Hopefully I'll get it done this summer, but with a light teaching load this semester my tattooing budget is drying up. :( Also, I don't want to risk posting anything else on this page after seeing @ThatGuy 's piece from Valerie. That one deserves a page all its own. (I say that half in jest, because everytime I think I've seen the best f'ing tattoo ever, another one appears within a week - a tribute to the artists and clients who fill these pages.

@Marwin3000 You should check out Designs by Michael Angelo in Brooklyn.Mike Perfetto has been tattooing walk-ins since 1976,and it's first come, first serve. He opens up @4pm and he's closed on Tuesday & Friday. If you get there around 2:00 you should be one of the first in line. He's at 6217 16th ave (16th ave & 62nd St.) 718.331-1411 In my profile there's a picture of a blue koi he did on me like 15yrs ago,and it still looks great.

Hi 47 year male from central Texas here. Finally getting half a sleeve koi fish in traditional Japanese style this Thursday. I'm very excited, but nervous. I did a lot of research on what artist I wanted to use and decided on Katja Ramirez, who works out of Rock Of Ages in Austin, TX. Really like the work I have seen from her. Just hope I don't embarrass myself and can take the pain. I do have a small tattoo, that is going to be covered up. Been reading a lot of posts and it has been very helpful. Just a short introduction and thanks for the helpful posts.

  29. New one while drawing up some lettering on the spot, since I hadn't had time to do it ahead of time... "If you don't have time to do it today, we can wait... I know how it goes being busy. I mean, we're pretty much in the same industry... I'm a massage therapist..." Huh. Also, had the lettering ready in about ten minutes, and finished with 20 minutes left in the appointment. You know, since I didn't have time to do it that day.

  33. The description of the stereotypical woman getting tattooed is pretty contemptuous, regardless of whether or not it applies to anyone. (Incidentally, I've been a lot better about making tattoo appointments over the last 6 months than about getting my hair cut...)

  34. Those are good stuff. Haven't had them in a number of years, but I'm pretty sure I tried them all. I thought Dirt was pretty tasty, but found Earth Worm tasted like dirt. Every damn day I eat 8 eggs [7 whites, 1 whole], 2 chicken breasts, rice, sweet potato, and a couple protein shakes with almond butter :(. I don't get to eat good food anymore, except every 3rd friday I get French Toast at Wimpy's, and 2/3 Sundays I get pasta dinner at my grandparents. Le very big sigh.

  37. Yes, it is getting up to the 90's here and time for some sun and water. I got a new tattoo on my ribs Friday and I have an appointment at the end of the month for some work on my back. I am hoping I don't have to completely miss out this summer. Luckily summer lasts 8 months in Texas!

  45. I made a halfass bs promise to not add more tattoos to my neck shortly after starting to date this girl, not really meaning it because I thought it was just pillow talk ("I love your neck, let me just have that one spot" "Sure babe"). Lesson learned about how serious that promise was, I figured it was fairly obvious I'd get more eventually. When I said I was about to do that (phone call, naturally) I got the DONT YOU FUCKING DARE DO THAT and after some bickering I got the FINE GO AHEAD AND DO IT (which never really means 'fine' but we all know that, I just heard all I wanted to hear)and never lived it down. Years later even after we aren't together if it comes up she'll still say how much she hates that bird hahah

    The ladies thread

Ok I took the freakin' thing. I got 7 too! But... Hell yeah I LOVE brunch. And bagels. Why is that on there? What's not to love about those two things? I married a nice Jewish boy. Bagels are a way of life over here. :D Actually, a ton of those things reminded me of a younger co-worker of mine who I actually love. She would probably check off 100 of those things but I don't care because she is fun and one of the few with a good sense of humor that I work with so whatever. Think I may have to start talking about Chipotle more but start calling it Chipot because that shit was funny.

    Fitness!

Yes! I started boxing about a year ago. I started at my gym on the heavy/speed bag and eventually joined a muay thai boxing gym in September (I only do western boxing though because an elbow to the face is not appealing to me). Last night I finally started beginners sparring but didn't get to punch anyone or be punched in the face. Apparently they like you to work up to that hahaha. I really love it. It's pretty much the only time I get to focus on just one thing and basically meditate. It's also fun to do something physical to work towards something that's goal is not weight loss.

To them you are just a party pooper, you're going to have to do something really great next bday party to reverse this image. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
