  2. I'm always amazed by the awesome tattoos that are posted in this thread, I thought I'd have a go myself. Apologies for flashing so much of my underwear. This was done by Paul Dobleman while doing a guest spot at Frith Street.

  3. I'm not gonna win but just throwing these in here for the fun of it. Bonji bosatsu characters by Horimitsu (Horitoshi Family) doing a guest spot at Invisible NYC.

  4. Healed whispering devil and fresh heel tattoos (and dirty feet). All by my pal Iain Mullen, Imperial Tattoo Stockholm. I am happy I finally decided to get this devil done, had been looking at the sketch in Iains box for a year all ready. It's actually facing inwards, against common tattoo-logic. If you follow around the leg you can see that it's point towards another tattoo of a sleeping lady head, by Jaclyn Réhe. edit: about the heels, the mouth with yin yang was my idea but made to fit by Iain. The other thing, whatever, was drawn on by him. We think it might be a satellite and/or one of those things alchemist brew their stuff in. Either way I think it's just right.

  5. I'm putting in an old one. (Photo is from 2008) Done by Hunter Spanks in lovely Baltimore, Maryland. It says "Death & Roll" because I really love the band Entombed.

  7. Tomorrow night I'm seeing Rocket From The Crypt in DC. Their logo was the first tattoo I received when I was a young silly punk rock kid. Now I'm just an old silly punk rock kid.

  8. Yeah, I've relayed generalized info to Horitomo too - placement, size, and photos of my cat. I get my monmon cat in a month - wooooooot! It's going to be my first one-off tattoo as well!

  9. Totally side-tracking the new contest, but when I need to see @Lance 's feet.... @KBeee, I just type "Horitomo monmon cats" in google images and they pop right up:

  12. Ran a vegetarian, mostly vegan, restaurant for 5 weeks with a friend of mine. We were the only people cooking and neither of us had any previous experience of working in a professional kitchen. Suddenly the owner decided we were not making enough money (having opened the place a mere 4 weeks before, come on?) and kicked us out. Instead he started to serve meat along with the vegetarian dishes and market the place as "Stockholms only flexitarian restaurant" (Flexitarian being a bogus, pointless term, google it) and now they are making even less money (another 5 weeks down the road). I log on to their card-machine account every now and then to see that they are just losing out even more then when me and my friend did the cooking. Strange story but a fun experience.

  15. Sometimes there are tattoos that make me want to be friends with the person who has that tattoo, because there is no way they have that tattoo and aren't somebody I'd want to hang out and shoot the shit with, and this is absolutely one of those tattoos.

  16. Ok, about time I updated this and get the rest of my pics up. First 3 are of the Gramaphone from Kim Anh Nguyen in Amsterdam, with the last two being healed/recent shots. Salon Serpant is a fantastic shop and I'm doing my best to convince the OH to go back there as I'd love a lady head from Kim, a man head from Guen Douglas and something weird from Susanne Konig! All recent pics are taken off the phone by a hungover and less than cooperative OH so forgive the crappy pics! - - - Updated - - - Script is from Kris Magnotti, done in NY Adorned in 2010. Went to NYC with our football team and we had a few hectic nights before I got this so I really was not in the right frame of mind getting this done on the ribs! Great shop and would love to get more work by Kris. Inner bicep done by Tyler James Densely in Seven Seas San Diego, probably around 2007/8. Real nice guy. Tattoo wraps around the fron of the arm so hard to get a good pic. - - - Updated - - - Last pic is of my 3/4 sleeve. Finished by Jani in Wildcat Dublin. I get the work started by another artist and really wasn't happy with the work so, in fairness to Jani, it limited his ability to put his own stamp on it. What I would do to turn back time and get a sleeve from Mike Rubendall!! Ah well... Don't mind the ugly scar from my shoulder surgery.

  18. I finished this painting this morning. A friend commissioned it for her two year old daughter who loves Snoopy. It was super fun to do and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. The skeleton is for size comparison, and because skeletons make everything better.

Just think of it this way - even though getting the tattoo might make you feel like screaming bloody murder like you would at an uncontrollable toddler who is knocking over glasses full of sugary beverages while waving around the remote control - the tattooing time is precious MOMMY time that you get ALL TO YOURSELF! You will love this. It will be worth the discomfort. And get a big tattoo. Then you have an excuse to hand off the baby when he/she is in terror mode while saying, "Sorry honey, I have another session and my tattooer says I can't go longer than 3 weeks between sittings. I'll be back in about 6 hours. Love you."

  31. @Iwar Thanks man! I got very lucky with that one. I had put my name down months ago in case Koji had any cancellations and I totally forgot about it. Happened to be randomly working from home and got a call from Adorned asking if I could be there in the next hour. Got the okay from my boss, jumped on my bike, and pedaled over. Even got a flat on the way, but still made it haha. Soo stoked that worked out. Particularly happy with the placement of that one. Really glad I had saved that spot!

  33. Thou shalt not revive the thread about tattooers with little to no tattoos thread because it is FACT that tattooers are required to be tattooed and your opinion will not change this.

  34. Browsing around the board just now, I was struck by how often folks asking questions about tattoos they want to get or tattoos they have gotten end up getting similar responses, as their issues often correspond to a fairly narrow set that come up again and again. I thought it could be cool to have a thread where we list our generally accepted "tattoo advice" and wisdom in one centralized location. We could point people to it when appropriate. For example: 1. Thou shalt never haggle in a tattoo shop. 2. Thou shalt not try to force a tattooer to tattoo an exact replica of an image you've brought in. If you are going to a skilled tattooer, you will always be better off letting them turn your idea into an actual tattoo design that will work for this medium. 3. Thou shalt consult with your tattooer for questions re: design, sizing, placement, ideas, aftercare instructions and any touch-ups. 4. Thou shalt not stress about how your new tattoo looks until it is fully healed. 5. Thou shalt accept that flaking, scabbing, swelling, itching, and a whole bunch of other uncomfortable stuff is all totally normal when healing a tattoo. Thou shalt only be concerned if it doesn't get better after weeks, or if it smells or looks infected. Next?

  41. Thanks y'all! It was the most positive experience I've had getting tattooed. Yutaro is a real gentleman and very funny, when you know a good soul you just feel comfortable. Also had the joy of meeting Stewart and Valerie who came by a bunch to check the progress, both I can say the same about as Yutaro, just really good souls. A real positive start on a collection of skull and sword pieces :)

    Tattoos and Piercings?

Tesseracts, you really don't want to use acrylic for long term use. Here is a great page with lots of info of different materials. Material information & care And they have a huge selection of barbells and you can get them with gems and various other ends. I personally stick with titanium (I like the copper and teal colors the best). I get most of my jewelry there. :) They also have a calender you can get that has 20% off coupons each month.
