Did this one yesterday, 5.5 hour one shot. Tough girl! @Wilhell I know I've already said it, but I really love your backpiece. The powder blue with the orangey reds looks real slick. :cool:19 points -
I´ve already posted this in the back piece-thread, but I throw it out here too with a better photo. Next session in March:10 points

I also posted this in the backpiece thread, but i'm soo stoked i just had to put it in here too :-) Well, Since today I am an official member of the Back piece squad :) We had a (pretty brutal) 5+ hour start of my backpiece, we managed to finish all the lining (except for the big flower that need to go on my upper legs). Next session will be for lining the flowers and the rest of the leg part, and to start shading... I can't wait ;-)6 points -

@TaeTae, I find back of the thighs OK. The ass is way more painful. It´s actually awful! hehe.. Wow, that was a big question! My legs will not be in the same style as my back piece with traditional windbar background. My plan is to collect small and large one-shots on the rest of the body regardless of the style, and finally sew it all together with a kind of background. Maybe a flame background. I should also laser remove an entire sleeve and two other tattoos. A big project, but necessary. In October I travel to NYC / SF (with @Ninab and @Iwar) to get tattooed by Hoyer / O'Donnell / Lehi and hopefully Corbin. On the wish list for the future: Rassier, Leu, Mick, Roper, Sylvia Trevino, Ichibay, Bruno, Grime, Arriola, Deutsche, Whitehead and many more ..3 points

Tegaderm/Saniderm/Tatuderm healing process
Killercook76 and one other reacted to Orangutango for a topic
Pulled the tegaderm off my ribs (pics in the latest tattoo lowdown thread) last night, this stuff is amazing. Barely felt it was there during the 72 hours it was on, had a little bit of fluid underneath but it all got reabsorbed, it came off easily in the shower, just hitting it with moisturizer now. Can't imagine how annoying it would have been to heal the belt line without it. Not having to mess with it for the first three days is worth the $20. Definitely on the bandwagon.2 points -

Hello everybody from last sparrow. I am already lutking this forum For quite some time now. But only now felt that i have something To share so made an account. So my name is Roel 28 years old and from the suburbs of Amsterdam in holland. Ever since I was a small boy I was infected with Tattoos. But I can't draw for shit, so I became a collector and floormanager for one of the best tattoo shops in the country. I have worked in the Amsterdam tattoo museum while it was open the last time and it was an awesome time met some big names in the bussines and I learned so much there during my year and a half there. Recurring pain in healed tattoos
mtlsam reacted to cltattooing for a topic
I have experienced some of this before. My thoughts are that it's probably scar tissue which has not fully settled in/healed up. A lot of bolder work can create scarring even if it's a really clean tattoo and it doesn't necessarily look off or out of place. Peoples' skin scars differently and heals at different rates, and I've had some tattoos that took several months to fully settle into the skin even after the scabbing and peeling is over. Anyway, that's my guess given some of what I've noticed with healing my tattoos. It might not necessarily be what's up with hers, but if it is, it'll probably go away within a few more months.1 point -

Perhaps not the right place for this, but as a follow up to the no drawing rose painting/video I posted last week, here's a no stencil/no drawing rose I convinced a friend to let me put on him tonight. Sorry if this could have gone in a better place, since it's not painting-related... (the anchor and lily barely visible on his calf was my 14th tattoo, 13th if you don't count the one on myself to start things off)1 point -

Touching moments
Johannes reacted to Gloomy Inks for a topic
My first client that I know of passed away a few months back from rectal cancer. I worked on a Strat neck coming out of his upper left arm. I asked him while I was working on him how he felt about his mortality (he was terminal). He told me that he tried to live each day to the fullest, and inspire others to do the same. I look like a big tough tattooed guy. I had to put the machine down and go wipe the tears from eyes. It's art to be sure, but with a shelf life. People, their lives and stories keep me from burning out. But when I got the call, my heart went up into my throat, and went and had another cry. I'd say RIP Scott, but I know you are already.1 point -

Yeah there's loads of great talent in the UK - Frith Street is a fantastic studio, I've been tattooed there before and definitely will get tattooed there again, also Rain City in Manchester is a really good studio, Danny Rossiter especially, he's a great artist and a great guy! I'm a big fan of Claudia DeSabe at Black Garden in London, as well as Cassandra Frances who just joined their team. Also Alex Reinke (Horikitsune) in London is another amazing artist. Sneaky Mitch at Dock Street studio in Leeds is also great, Sacred Electric in Leeds is a great studio too. These are just people and studios that I really like, but there's a lot of talent around in other styles too - Bez at Triplesix in Sunderland, Oddboy at Real Art, Nigel Kurt, Paul Naylor, Phatt German, not my thing but undeniably brilliant artists! There's loads I'm missing out, but should give you a good start! The August Manchester convention has been absolutely pants the last couple of years, its a shame, it used to be quite good! I would recommend the "Tattoo tea party" convention in March next month, it was good fun last year, hopefully it will be the same this time! The Sacred Art guys will be there, and Olivia will be working the Sunday definitely, and maybe the Saturday too.1 point -

Really guys? Speculating on why people were in a tattoo shop at that hour in that neighborhood? What, are we going to speculate on the length of skirt the victim was wearing at the time next?1 point -
Horimasa Tosui from the Horitoshi Family is my favourite. In my opinion his doing some of the best Tebori oneshots (and big work) in the business. It´s very easy to recognize that his master is Horitoshi 1; These are 12 years old. Look how bright they still are; I got this one from him earlier this year: I also love alot of other Tebori-artists, some of them are mentioned over here. Horizakura, Horitomo..1 point

Here is a terrible photo of what I got from Tony Nilsson while at NY Adorned over the weekend. Great dude and a really humble young tattooer. I'm stoked I went and got something from him while he was here in the states. Being that I really don't post all that much I've gotten a little behind, but I have some new stuff from Grez, Steve Boltz, and Bob Roberts that I'll try and get some photos of as well. It's funny because I am not a fan of forums or posting pictures of tattoos online in the slightest, but there is something so enjoyable about this site that I find myself always coming back and wanting to share. The tattoos that have been getting posted all over this forum are really mind blowing. There's too many people to mention, but I've been real jealous lately browsing around. Hopefully, whatever I throw up someone enjoys 1/100th the amount of how I feel about the O'Donnell or Rubendall (just to name a few) pieces that I get to see on here.1 point -

Best post tattoo care?
JesseBlunt reacted to Dan S for a topic
Whoa...some seriously serious ways to care for a tattoo! Okay...I've got tattoos that are around 30-35 years old, and still look pretty damn good, color is bright, lines are crisp, all like that. I'm looking at a cover-up on my left forearm that Dale Grande did in 1984, and it looks about good as new. The main color is a light purple, and we were both a bit worried that it might fade-out with time. Hasn't happened. So here is the aftercare recommended at the time: Leave the bandage on overnight, then remove and shower. Use unscented lotion sparingly to keep the tattoo from drying out. Don't pick the scabs. Period. Actually, at the time I got that cover-up, the hot ticket for tattoo healing was, believe it or not, Preparation H. Keeps the tat a little moist, and eliminates the swelling. When I got the outlining done for my sleeve, I flew to Mexico the next morning, way the hell up in the mountains, and my arm didn't appreciate the sudden change from -10F to 100F...swole up like a balloon. Hit the local Pharmacia, got some Preparation H, and within an hour all was well again. I've never used any of the new stuff, got my last work done a year ago, and just used plain old Dial to shower with, and Bacitracyn to keep it from getting dry enoug to crack. Still seems to work. So whatever works for you! Just remember, you don't have to re-invent the wheel every time you get ink done. (and make sure it's a 13 and not a 31)1 point -
My feeling behind this is my children can do what they want we THEY can pay for it. To be more specific, when are on their own and no longer on my payroll. While they are under my roof, the goal is doing well in school and getting a college education. Or some type of trade development that will make them productive members of society. There is plenty of time to tattoo and pierce things. I am or will be heavily tattooed but that doesn't mean my children get a pass. Take the time to become a person, there's more then enough time for tattoos after that.1 point

Best post tattoo care?
JesseBlunt reacted to Ursula for a topic
not sure if anyone has said this yet but here's what i've learned from some people who know what's up. i've tried it so has my man and it WORKS. it's mostly for larger work when you get home soak it in the hottest bath you can handle for a while re-wrap BEFORE it dries completely leave the bandage on overnight in the morning wash it very well with soapy water, it might hurt a little but keep rubbing it untill all the gooey shit and blood and ink comes off let it air dry and then care for it like you normally would with lotion or whatever you like. i find when you do this the scabbing is much more minimal and the healing time is a lot quicker. the people who told us about this said it's how the japanese heal their large scale work1 point -

The skull and mortarboard is sometimes called "The Scholarly Skull." I wanna say it's an old Owen Jensen flash design, but I'm probably wrong. I got one from Mike Wilson last year. Like most of his tattoos, it is perfect (and I am lucky).1 point -

JesseBlunt reacted to Valerie Vargas for a topic
i sincerely think, keeping it clean and dry is the best way, for me. i leave the wrap till either bedtime or the morning, depending on the area tattooed or the size of the tattoo.i wash mine with fairly hot water and soap for the first few days to stop it from weeping, the first wash is the most important and i will take a while to wash it. if towards the end of healing it feels a bit dry thats when i might use a pea sized amount of unscented moisturizer. i get too many customers believing its the cream that heals the tattoo and look at me funny when i tell them, its not the cream doing the healing, its the skin, so take care of it and dont smother cream on hoping for a miracle.1 point
