Final session on my back with Rubendall today. It's bittersweet. So happy to have this portion of my back finished but will miss the fun times with Rubendall. Great gentleman, incredible artist and shrewd businessman. The complete ball of wax and then some. I still have some appointments booked and I'm thinking about starting something new with him. Henning will top things off end of this year when he'll be visiting and doing his usual guest spot at Kings Ave! Enjoy the pics! Eyes, spine, and the orb/pearl Filled in some more flame work as well Rubendall said when after the orb/pearl is full healed, it'll lighten up to a bit of an iridescent affect. Full moon close-up :o5 points -
I can officially add "appointment with Horitomo" in my upcoming tattoos list! Scheduled for end of April/beginning of May. Very excited! So much for my "I'm done until I have enough money for my back" and "have to let husband get tattoos too" statements!4 points

re-introducing myself with a new idea
gougetheeyes and one other reacted to HaydenRose for a topic
I think the best course of action is to either keep the entire quote (which I STRONGLY advise you don't do) or no quote at all. Yes, shortening the paragraph is a better choice, but the first line of the quote does not represent the whole meaning. You will feel better with an image that conveys the entire thought than a block of text or half of the meaning. Also, I've noticed in recent years a lot of women think their tattoos need to be light and feminine and wrap around the body. That's fine if that's what you want, but it feels like the whole placement and airy quality is a trend right now. Big bold pieces still look stunning on women. And any tattoo that is placed well (that means not where you put it but how your artist designs it for the area you choose) will highlight the curves and assets of a woman's (or man's) body. When @9Years talks about real-estate, he means it. You have to treat open spaces like real estate if you plan on getting a lot of tattoos. You don't want to build little shacks all over a lot and then decide you want to build a mansion over them. And quotes are only provided by artists and shops. Go there. Where are you located? Perhaps someone can direct you to a decent shop.2 points -

Got this super-awesome psychedelic-multi-eyed-alien-tiger colored in and finished up yesterday (black is healed). Flash and Tattoo by Theo Mindell at Spider Murphy's. Pretty stoked on this lil' guy!! You can check the pretty colors on his instagram: Instagram Or check out a crappy-hotel-room shot attached! What's that saying someone said around here about Tattoos being tough to photo because there ain't no lens that can capture the magic? Totally true in my experience....2 points -
Its the approach that's off putting. Not here nor on the survey site is it stated with any clarity or purpose what the intentions of the study will be. Its a study for a univsersity paper, not a middle school report.2 points

Tattoo Survey
semele and one other reacted to HaydenRose for a topic
@deadsp0t and @Graeme you both make valid arguments. However, when I clicked the link, this student states that she is an undergraduate Junior. This is not a dissertation, this is some bullshit project probably for an Intro Psych class. At least, that's all I can gather from the severe lack of information. I also did click through the survey, but not submit my answers to see if it is statistically sound (It's not). Give me a survey with a foundation in real research when you're in a PhD program doing a real dissertation, and then maybe I'll participate. ALSO, if you are doing a dissertation or thesis or something for Grad school, then you SHOULD go out and interview tattooers/collectors. You should immerse yourself wholly in the topic, so that you can create an informed measurement of the culture and perceptions of tattoos. To me, I equate it to not studying the brain (it's structure, physiology, etc.), but going ahead and conducting cognitive tests on subjects anyway.2 points -

Some progress on my frontpiece with my boss, Josh Cruse. Did about three hours of color in the snake all around my chest and belly. I have another sitting in two weeks, but I'll probably hold off on posting anything until we get it all done... after it's healed and settled, we'll touch up anything that needs it and add some pattern work in that minty green stripe on the snake.2 points -

Picosecond laser aka Picosure - the future of tattoo removal?
Mike Panic reacted to CampB for a topic
update! @Mike Panic @YOMONEY below are pictures after two pico sessions; right before going into my third session today. laser time was considerably less this time considering all my shading's gone so there's less area to go over. really bummed about all the hyperpigmentation though. so after being less than impressed with the results after my first session, i insisted my dr. to really burn this shit up (he had strongly advised against the settings i requested but i wouldn't have it any other way) so for my neck, he went from 3.7mm to 3.2 and 3.7 to 3.6 for my sleeve and wrists. results were amazing but left me with some scarring on my neck. so this time this is what we did: neck: 3.5mm // 2.08 J/cm2 // 10 hz // 2 minutes sleeve and wrists: 3.6mm // 1.96 J/cm2 // 10 hz // 27 minutes total pulses: 2208 for the red on Poison's face and lips, we use YAG you can probably tell the first photo is what my Lady looked like before i started treatments. :( [/img]1 point -
Most painful spot to get tattooed

I think its entertaining . Its not pretending to be a show about the bestest tattooers or anything like that. The people in the shop are really affable. Its bubble gum for the brains . Far better than the "tattoo nightmare" type shows they are showing over here , channels in the uk seem to have a fixation for showing tattooing in a really bad light , gypsies , and poor people . Its depressing.1 point -

@hogg there isn't a dislike option. “His short term plans include opening a tattoo parlor with his dad. They have talked about it for a very long time. It’s his dream for it to be a very high-end parlor, unlike anything currently out there.” Remind me to only go to seedier joints like King's Avenue. That place is totes a dump.1 point -

If you don't go in expecting much, which of course we didn't, the show can be kind of funny. We appreciate the dry sense of humor of the British piercer, especially. Good show to fall asleep to. As much as I'm sure it is staged like all tv is--it still pretty much captures the essence of Hollywood and Venice.1 point -

- - - Updated - - - Hi @rozone Thanks! one is Chris Conn and one is Scott Sylvia. I got Guadalupe first and then about 4 years later had finallly come up with my next idea. Since Chris had left the business during that time. I asked Chris who he suggested for the style I wanted. I shared my idea with him and he pointed me to Scott Sylvia, for which I am super grateful. Scott did a wonderful job with what I call "indigena" he nailed it. I know this may sound silly, but A big part of getting tattooed for me is feeling a connection to the artist. Both of these guys made the experience memorable for me. I wish Scott was my unkle. Nicest dude. oh and btw. I absolutely LOVE your 3 eyed lady, it's so beautiful and unique!1 point -

Nobody is entitled to have anybody participate in their research. If this poster was an active and contributing member to this forum, was getting tattoos, had experience, photos, and stories to share, then posted that she was taking this course and wanted to do this particular assignment about tattoos and could we help her by doing this survey, then maybe I'd be willing to help. Doing what she did, however, by coming here and asking us to take a survey with no indication of who she is, what her research question is, what her interest or involvement in tattoos is...what does she expect? If she ends up with shitty research because she doesn't understand what she's trying to study and how to approach it, that's on her, not on me or anybody else here for not participating.1 point

Yeah I didn't join this forum to do surveys. However, if you have some tattoo stories or pictures, I'm interested in those.1 point

I saw these donkeys on the way home from work the other day, seems like kind of crappy dry place to have to live IMO,not sure how well they are fed & watered,so we bought some fresh carrots, cabbage,& apples and brought that and some water down this morning and fed them the treats,as soon as we pulled over on the other side of the street they started walking over to us,so it appears we are not the only ones who do this ! LOL very cute & very friendly.I will keep carrots with me from now on and do this again for sure. . . . . . . . this is my favorite pic1 point

Here's a fully of the progress so far, not just butt teasers from Dana's Instagram (though no one was complaining.....). I don't think that is just the women. I have a friend who's husband is constantly being hit on, right in front of her. As if this guy couldn't possibly be the faithful type. One waitress practically pulled out her boob to show him her tattoo. He put up his hand to block the view and said, "That's nice, now get my wife her pie."1 point -
